Having just moved to Baltimore I had a desperate need to find a trustworthy mechanic. Kurt was able to fix up my Pilot in less than 3 hours. I will definitely be back whenever there is an issue with my car.

I called on Tuesday for a quick, easy repair (o2 sensor) i already had the parts was told to bring it there on the following Thursday morning. Perfect. My husband brings it up there in the morning and was told park the car around the corner on the street and leave the keys — the lot was full of cars and no space. My husband didn’t feel safe leaving the keys in the car for them to service the car because it was on the street and people were passing by, so he waited in the car for a mechanic. He is sitting in the car for hours waiting to be serviced. When he checked back in the office to see what was going on, when was he able to fix it, the person at the front desk says “i thought you left” and said “I would never tell anyone to leave keys in the car.” But he also never asked for the keys, and didn’t take a phone number down if he couldn’t service the car right away or if had to pick it up later or whatever the case is. So after waiting for hours, he then says to come the next day. I was the one who suggested my husband come to this mechanic because of the 5 star reviews. He took off work, went out of the way to take my car for me to this great and reasonably priced mechanic, yet wasted hours sitting and waiting for no service or communication just to be told to come back then next day which meant I would then have to take off work the next day. Just miscommunication and not so great customer service. My husband left and found a mechanic shop around the corner and got it replaced under 5 minutes without an appointment.

John’s Auto Shop took care of a usual issue with my car at no charge - Kurt quickly diagnosed and fixed the issue and despite my insistence to pay he refused! Such a great experience and will be returning.

So grateful to have Kurt in our neighborhood! These guys are true pros who can fix just about anything, and, most importantly, you can trust them to do quality work without overcharging. I’ve been to Kurt twice: first for cosmetic body work, and then after a frightening experience when my wheel came off because my Ford dealership failed to reinstall it properly after a wheel rotation. Kurt was the silver lining in all the chaos—I was getting overcharged by tow companies, and a local tire shop claimed they didn’t have the tools to fix my wheel. Kurt stepped in, took care of my car quickly and thoroughly, and there were no surprises with the transaction. He even went the extra mile to check the other wheels, which were also loose due to the dealership’s mistake. In our close-knit community, having a reliable and honest mechanic like Kurt is invaluable. I highly recommend him and his team!

Car was making an awful noise, turns out a piece of medal got into my caliper. They fixed the car in the same day and didn’t even charge me! Will be back any time I need car assistance.

Had the best experience here. Prices are great, and the service was quick. Best customer service I’ve almost ever come across.If I could Kurt more than 5 stars I definitely would! Will definitely be getting my car serviced here for as long as I’m in MD.

Just moved to the area and didn’t have a mechanic. I’m always afraid of being ripped off as a girl who knows nothing about cars. Kurt was quick to get me in, super affordable prices, and my cars running great. Highly recommend

My car was hit during a severe rain storm, in Baltimore city, on Sunday night after dropping my sister off at her home. Power was out as well as street lamps and traffic lights. We're from Michigan and must leave tomorrow (Tuesday) for home in order to be back by Wednesday evening. Kurt had the issues that were holding us back, resolved in 15 minutes with an explanation of what will properly need to be repaired once back home. He made my vehicle safe to make the trip home for us and the dog. God bless this man for the patience, kindness ahonesty

Kurt was awesome to work with. I called on a Thursday stating that my car needed some love, I was in at 8 am Monday, and my car was diagnosed and fixed in the same day. I’ve been to both Heritage and Anderson Honda dealerships for maintenance and the folks at John’s Auto were far better in communication, speed, and price.

I'm a travel RN, and Baltimore roads have not been great to my crossover. Was very stressed out when I needed some fairly major work done on my front end. Reddit led me to Kurt and I am so grateful - truly wonderful work on my car at a very reasonable price and in a decent time frame, plus, he was just a friendly and honest person. I hope not to need more work done on my vehicle anytime soon, but would happily take it back to this shop if I did, and recommend them to anyone in the area.

Kurt was incredible. The process was so easy and Kurt told me exactly what I needed to get fixed at insanely affordable prices in such an honest way. Working with him was 1000x better than when I took my car to Firestone. I am so happy with how my car turned out, and I trust him 100%. I would recommend anyone to take their car to him whether you live in Baltimore or not. I will only be contacting him for my car repairs and replacements when I’m in Maryland from now on.

Been bringing my 2001 Jeep Cherokee to John's Auto for over 20 years. Probably have saved a small fortune by not letting the dealerships touch it. Before that they kept my VW Rabbit Diesel on the road for 200K miles.

I called John on a Friday to see if he would be able to install my mirror (I already had the part). He said come by Monday and was very nice. I went in on Monday and dropped my car off. Within a few hours the job was perfectly completed and he helped me out with another small issue I was having. I will never get work done anywhere else.

Kurt is excellent! Took my older Lexus to him with a starter issue and he had it turned around in a couple days for a fair price. Didn’t pressure me into fixing other issues the car has, just got it running. Great communication and customer service. I’ll trust him and his team with my car as long as I live in this neighborhood.

This place will NOT rip you off, which I find to be the most important aspect of an auto shop if you don’t know the mechanic personally (and even then, you can run into issues). Sometimes it can be tough getting an appointment or getting something done super fast, but if you’ve got the time and it’s not an immediate issue to fix, I recommend them over any other place in the area.
