A FUBAR phone call led to more than I expected. I tried calling this location to verify some information regarding my International Driver’s Permit (IDP), and I got jerked around by CSR Jamie. Therefore, I had to show up in person which was a waste of gas and my time. IDPs are only good for one year from the date listed, and the date on my IDP is 2028. All it would’ve taken for me to be satisfied was a simple phone call. Upon my arrival at this location and some backroom chatter (two people went to the back and tried whispering). The manager, DV, assisted me. Once I was able to prove that I purchased my IDP from this location, they were able to find my account that they couldn’t find previously (I don’t know how they missed it the first time because it was under the same name). Instead of just correcting the date to reflect an expiration date of this year, I got a new IDP, which I think is well above and beyond what is required for my situation because I got the answer that I needed within the first 30 seconds of meeting DV. Thank you DV, I greatly appreciate your time and assistance in this matter.

This was the 3rd shop that I took my car to. The first shop wasn't sure what was wrong with it. The second shop which was Stuffy figured out it was the alternator but wanted to charge me $500 more than I paid here. I had a great experience Arnold was very polite and knowledgeable. My car was fixed promptly at a reasonable price. Will be going back for tires...Kudos

The staff are friendly, hence the two stars, but unfortunately my overall experience has been less than satisfactory. I had set up an appointment in advance to drop my vehicle off @ 9AM for the technicians to determine what issue may be going on with my vehicle. I called once at 12:30 to see if any progress had been made & then a second time around 3PM when still I had heard nothing. I ended up picking my vehicle up around 3:45PM and was told what the problem was & that a special part would need to be ordered. I have still not heard back from the store (three days later.) about any update on the part, pricing, etc. I had to pay $170 to have my car diagnosis. The technician accidentally double charged me & it was only corrected when I spotted the error. The sale is still pending & I am not entirely sure if the double charge has been expunged. Overall, the whole procedure felt like a waste of my time, energy, and money.

Though the staff is friendly, I would recommend saving your wallets and business and head down the street to another establishment for your car care needs. Quoted me $600 more than three other car care businesses did. Paid $175 just for diagnostics. Then when picking up my car, the backseat was still torn out. Seems like theres better business, better prices, & better quality, elsewhere.

Today I went in because my car has had low tire pressure for approximately a week now. I put in a schedule request on Thursday evening, to which I called an employee named Arnold on Friday morning to confirm my scheduled appointment at 8am this Saturday morning. I walked in to have my car checked today, and “Arnold,” whom I previously spoke with on the form told me I didn’t have an appointment!! Not only that, but I was going to have to wait 6 HOURS for them to even look at my car. This was RIDICULOUS. I have had previously problems with the same employee, as he seems to not do his job and blame the customers for being inadequate. I simply asked for my keys back in a professional manner and walked out. Now I have to figure out somewhere else to get my car serviced. Tire discounts right on the next block has MUCH better service. Terrible experience!!

I called because my keys got locked inside of my car at a gas pump, so I was blocking traffic, and they said it would be 30 minutes to 1 hour. I then waited 2 hours. I called them again, and found out they screwed up and never put my request in. I am a 17 year old kid, and I had to sit outside in the cold in the middle of December alone. They never showed up. I will never use them again.

My family and I have had two times that we were out of town and had car problems. Both times we were able to count on AAA for a tow and to find a AAA Car Care Center. Both experiences were made easier by supportive employees of both the Polaris AAA and the Gahanna AAA. We were towed as part of our AAA membership for free to the Gahanna, Ohio location. Unfortunately it was two days before Christmas, so we had to wait until December 26th to talk to someone from the location, but it was ready to be picked up later that day. We had a coolant leak that was due to a loose fitting. The cost was very reasonable and we were treated quite well. If you are ever out of town with car problems, check out the local AAA Car Care Center. It is a great opportunity to make a quick decision on where to take your car, rather than guessing where to go.

I can’t in good conscience recommend this auto shop. The only reason I’m giving two stars instead of one is that they’ve admitted (some of) their errors and tried to fix them. This review will be very long, but I feel like I need to share the specifics of what happened so other people can make informed decisions. In their defense, there’s a chance *some* of this stuff could be unfortunate flukes, but either way the experience has been poor and they’ve made errors. They act and speak professionally, but the actual work they do and the experience have both been very questionable. I have a very hard time trusting anything they say at this point. Also, FYI, from the first phone call, they didn’t want to work with me on letting me stay with the car, which I’ve never had such issues with at any other car place. At my scheduled appt, when I said (as I did on the phone) that the car needed an alignment, I was instantly asked in a very skeptical tone, “Why do you think you need that?” (Yes, I’m a woman.) Flustered, not expecting to be challenged on a service I’ve received at many other car shops, I gave a bad example. But I know how my car handles and I knew it needed an alignment. The employee lectured me on what was actually probably wrong with the car and tried to push me away from the alignment. Here’s what happened: 1. DIDN’T BELIEVE ME (A WOMAN) ON WHAT THE CAR NEEDED - Turns out the car DID need an alignment as I requested, and it was actually pretty bad. They conveniently didn’t acknowledge that they didn’t believe me when I first asked for one… 2. DID NOT KNOW BASIC OIL CHANGE PERCENTAGE RESET PROCEDURE, NEEDED RETURN VISIT - Forgot to reset the oil percentage in the first place, and when they tried, it wasn’t correct or complete. I had to come back when the light came on and then they tried to act like it was really tricky to do and not their fault. 3. DRAINED AVERAGE AGE BATTERY ON-SITE, NEEDED RETURN VISIT AND BRAND NEW BATTERY - Car died in the lot when I picked it up. They recharged it and said the battery should be good. Two weeks later, the just-changed oil change percentage was not only showing low (their error), but the engine was having trouble turning over. Turns out they drained the battery thoroughly enough that they pushed it to its last legs. This was not an ancient battery. This honestly blew my mind but thankfully they agreed not to charge me for it. Another comment here mentions a battery issue, and the woman in the shop before me at one point also was told her battery was dying. Seems very shady or just sloppy to me. 4. COMPLAINED ABOUT OTHER LOCATIONS AND DID NOT WANT TO REFLECT PRE-EXISTING DEAL - I had an oil change deal on my account. When I asked for that to be reflected, I was lectured about not having my receipt, even though the other shop said it would be placed on my account and didn’t tell me to keep the receipt. The employee ultimately reflected the deal, but he absolutely made sure I knew he was unhappy about it and that he strongly dislikes the other location. 5. LIKELY DID SOMETHING INCORRECTLY OR POORLY WITH BRAKE REPLACEMENT, NEEDED RETURN VISIT - Lastly, I had to return to the shop for what feels like the Nth time because my brand-new brakes are screeching incessantly at the end of every day. I repeatedly told them that they would not hear the noise when they test drove it because it was a morning appt and it only happens after extended driving. I had also told them this on the phone when I originally made the return appt. They still insisted on wasting time with a test drive in which they of course did not hear anything. Then, they said they “don’t know” how to possibly fix a noise they can’t hear (which again, I warned them about) even though I described it in detail; also, we are talking about BRAND NEW BRAKES. How many problems could there possibly be with something that was replaced by them 2-3 weeks ago? I appreciate that they've been willing to go back in and fix things without charging me (as they shouldn’t), but I could never recommend this place's work to anyone.

I will never go back to this AAA again!!! We had the worst experience ever. It took three weeks to schedule a trip to New Orleans. We had to go back three times, it took three weeks! But before that we had a schedule appointment for Saturday, when we got there, They informed us that the agent didn’t work on Saturday and the appointment was canceled. Our agent made so many mistakes. She needs to be trained or retrained . And the manager was so rude. I’ve been a AAA member for over 40 years.After this experience I don’t know if i want to renew my membership.I pay my membership fee every year for good service, this was far from it. Thank, you Jasmine for your quick response to this issue.

Went to the office on Friday July 21st. Wife and I were there for almost half an hour and the only person who even acknowledged us was Arnold the car repair guy. 2 staff people were talking about another customer when a 3rd employee came in walked right past us never said word.we were the only 2 people in the office..after the other customer left. I left a message on there office phone never heard back.

Ann Ketron at the AAA Gahanna/ New Albany was very helpful, kind, patient and resourceful in showing me how to use Uber to find costs before we travel to Fort Lauderdale and board our ship for the Eastern Caribbean. Uber costs were needed in regards to traveling from the airport to our hotel to the cruise terminal with two other couples. Ms. Ketron was most knowledgable and answered many questions we would not have been able to find on our own. Thank you, Ann, and AAA Gahanna/New Albany! Karen Sheffer
