I took my 2008 dodge ram last year for transmission replacement I paid them over $7,000 for it , after I got the truck back it was running good for about a month after that started giving me problems again so , I took it back to AAMCO Transmissions, because it did had a warranty and they said they were going to fix it , but it’s been about 7 month and they haven’t done nothing to the truck and every time I called them they would have an excuse , waiting for warranty to expire so they can charge me .definitely not a good experience

We took our VW in several weeks back for a water pump replacement and oil change. Paid $1700. A day later the check engine light was back on. Arranged taking it back in. They said it was just a bad connector. Brought it BACK in to have that replaced. A DAY later… check engine light is back on and along with a very loud rattling sound if we go over 20 mph. Now we’re going to need a 2nd opinion and likely to shell out more $$. Who knows what the problem is. Very upset over the experience. 0/10 recommend.

Michael is one of the best people and managers I have experienced...and folks I am a total Karen. So this five stars is totally honest.

They were great! They were able to fit me in their busy schedule last week. The manager Mike is very thorough. Mike was very detailed about the process to repair my car, which I appreciated. Sure, I had to wait a couple days to get my car back, but that is on me because I had them look at my car later in the week. It is a little bummer they are closed on the weekends. But they did a superb job on my car. I am happy! Thank you for your service!

This is a late review. Still gets under my skin to this day. 3 years ago I took my car in to check the transmission and clutch but was informed it was my rear end that needed repaired and was the cause of the “slipping “ I was experiencing. I was mainly just trying to get a quote but had I’d known what was in store for me I would’ve left with my keys that day. They quoted me roughly 4500 for a new rear end replacement. I made sure to ask that I’d have all new bearings axles and everything the shop manager that no longer works there did all the paperwork. After about 3 weeks I get my car back with what appeared to be a used rear end and as soon as I test drove it I immediately noticed a vibration at highway speeds. That was never there when I purchased the car or brought the car in initially. So my assumption was they had the pinion angle way off or they broke something. So I immediately bring the car back and hand them the keys again and then they informed me that that rear end they put in was used even though I wanted and paid for everything brand new. Had I’d known this that I’d have junk yard parts in my car I would’ve just ordered new online and done the swap myself. But wait.. there’s more. The rear end they put in was “bad” so they replaced that one again. After about 4 months of back and forth with them I finally get my car back the vibration is still there 🤦🏻‍♂️ so I try everything to fix the issue or trouble shoot what I can at home. I bought new tires driveshaft brakes rotors pads re balance the wheels it made the vibration less noticeable but was definitely drivetrain related. Again problem was never there to begin with. I finally take it back and demand either money back or go out on a limb and see if they can make it right by replacing the rear end again which I will say I’m glad they did try in that aspect BUT they didn’t want to touch the rear end that time because I replaced the driveshaft and it wasn’t a factory “part” but Dominic the new shop manager said he’d take care of it since I’ve had so many issues prior. Thankful for that at least. I get the car back and this is when I finally realized that just straight up swap the entire rear end assembly because when the car was finished I immediately noticed my rear brake rotors were different. (I had just put brand new drilled and slotted rotors on the rear) and I get the car back with stock ones . After that the vibration was still there and I eventually just sold the car. 7 months in total of in and out of that shop . Stay away from here unless you want junkyard parts. Yes I quoted a brand new one with ford dealership and online and it was the same price as I paid here so yes I firmly believe I got screwed over.

This place is a joke! Replaced my transmission drove it less than 100 miles and it’s doing the same thing. Wanted them to fix the old if possible and was told they couldn’t because they’re was a lot of metal shavings in it. Took it back and they said they were going to replace it, but never did. Said they reprogrammed it instead. Went to pick it up and drove less than 30 miles and it was doing the SAME THING! Called the owner and was told it’s not the transmission and that we were trying to get stuff for free. This place is a joke! I would not take my car there EVER again!! Horrible customer service and liars! This isn’t even half of the crap they’ve done! Missing bolts, broke the plastic shield… I could go on! Beware!

Domanic was just wonderful I am very very happy with them that young man was relentless in making sure that he did the job right and making sure he kept his word to me the men in the shop were unbelievable and I am very happy with them I will be back not only for transmission work but I have to have a rear wheel sensor put on the next appointment they will get the job class act good job guys keep up the good work Mr.Randolph said so 🙌

Aamco on Prairie View has been a long outstanding Car Care Automotive Doctor for a very long time. Manager Shawn and his Techs are very helpful and knowledgeable about any questions or concerns that a Customer may have. You can trust them with any maintenance that your car may require. They have done such an excellent job with my car, thar I will be taking all of my cars to them when it's only them that may have the expertise of handling my car needs. As a matter of fact I had to have my car maintenance both by them and Thoroughbred at the same time for different reasons, but I was very pleased at both, simply because I feel like I have a team of people who really care about the health of any Customers cars maintenance.

We went to AAMCO to have freon added on our AC. They said that thermostat wasn’t also working. We said we didn't have the budget for it. We just wanted freon. When it was done and we turned car on, it was hot as hell. Like nothing was put into it. So then we went back home drove 2.5hrs on a freakin scorchin heat. We then have it check by our family mechanic (uncle) and he said they didnt put any freon in our car. Never go to this shop anymore. They will scam you!

Took my car in to get their complimentary service check on the transmission. The tech took it for a 2 minute test drive. He returned and pulled it in the shop. He popped the hood and pulled the plastic engine cover off and set it on the floor then walked away and stood over by the wall a couple minutes. Then he got on his phone and walked around the shop for 15-20 minutes. He gets off the phone and goes in the office to talk with the service manager. Dominic the service manager had a printout of the fault codes from my car. He said there isn’t anything wrong with the transmission, but other problems need to be addressed which o already knew about. He then told me they could do the repairs, but it would cost $189 to a more extensive inspection. He had already gone over the problems with the vehicle and wanted money to tell me what we already knew. I told him I would bring the car back the next morning as I didn’t have a ride home at the time. Upon arriving home I popped the hood and discovered the plastic engine cover was not put back on the car. Now I live 100 miles from this establishment and after discovering this missing part I wasn’t about to give them my business, but had to make to 100 mile drive back down there to get my part back only to be greeted by a rude service manager (Dominic) and the tech that couldn’t even apologize for his mistake. I wouldn’t take my car there if it was the last shop period!!!

Took a month and a half to get my car fixed after being told weekly "it will be done by the end of this week" then when I git it back yeah the fixed my issue but my car was almost empty all the tire were low and the steering wheel is now misaligned. Only reason it's a 2 star instead of 1 os because I got a 12 month/12000 mile warranty once it was all said and done. Edit: dropped ot to 1 star cause the transmission they put in just gave out after less than a year. Sent it back to get it fixed on the warranty and now it's been 3 weeks of the same "it'll be fixed nest week. Don't go here!

Customer service was good. Wasn't thrilled that I came for a fluid flush & tire rotation and I received a call stating my vehicle had a "hard shifting" issue (but it wasn't driven while on property - in & out mileage was the same when I arrived & left). Quoted me $6700 for tear down and rebuild of my transmission - my vehicle is a 2017, 122k miles and general maintenance completed every 5k miles. I politely declined & still received information for finance options.

DO NOT USE THIS PLACE!!! NON EXISTENCE CUSTOMER SERVICE! NOT ONE PHONE CALL FROM THEM WITH UPDATES! (I'M THE ONE THAT HAD TO INITIATE EVERY PHONE CALL) Excuses one after another. (Scheduled one day service) They ended up having my car for a few days. (Wasn't told otherwise) missed a couple of days of work because of it. Engine was not put back together properly, missing several bolts where things should be bolted to the engine. They Replaced parts and did work without my approval. There Still is remaining gunk/old gasket that should have been cleaned off where the new gaskets was replaced. I'm not a happy with this location. Its a good thing that you can't post pics on these reviews. It will cost you more in the long run.

GET A SECOND OPINION!!! Brought my car in with check engine light on and some slipping in my transmission. It was either a very expensive transmission swap, or a much cheaper part replacement? Not only did aamco tell me no way would the cheaper option work, but I also needed a $7k new transmission. Used would not work. Guess who swapped the cheaper part out and has driven thousands of miles without issue? AAMCO are nice people, but they could very well needlessly cost you thousands.

I usually don't write reviews like this but, i don't understand why company have to treat there consumers like this. We took are car to them because that is where the warranty company wanted us to use. Are car has been over a month and it was one lie after another. They were telling me one thing and telling the warranty company another. Finally the warranty company decided to tow the car to another company and when they went to get it. They AAmco people lost are keys, to the car and it could not be towed. The new company had to get a lock Smith out there to make a new key to get it towed. I would highly recommend not bringing your car to this place.

I will not return here. I feel uncomfortable with the evaluation they gave me. They want to rebuild my transmission for no reason. I got another evaluation, and that was not recommended, and I was overcharged for the last service. I got on an oil gasket change repair that was done. I heard them give the same speech word for word from 3 people that didn't even look at my car. Don't trust them!

John at front desk is amazing. I needed a new engine and he delt with all the crazy insurance stuff and kept me updated all the way. He fought for me and delivered. I would recommend this place a 1000 tines over. These guys all here work hard.

Predatory business. Would give zero stars but cant. Be very careful dealing with these people. Was quoted a price of $5600, agreed to this price and gave a $1000 deposit. The next day received a call that the work would actually cost about $8400. Told them never-mind, that it did not make sense for me to have it fixed at this new price. They are now refusing to refund my deposit. Never in my life have I written a poor google review, but want to help others avoid similar victimization.

Took a car here for warranty repair work. They are a repair center that works with the company that I bought the car through. Apparently the mileage reported by the clerk to the warranty company was below the actual mileage on the vehicle and should have been under the original warranty and not under my extended warranty. So I was told to take it to the original company to have them look at it. When I finally got a chance to take it up there, I was told that because it was reported as under the original warranty mileage limit they would not repair it. Long story short, it's going to cost me a few thousand dollars for something that is under warranty. Because the mileage reported was not the actual mileage on the vehicle.

Update: should’ve added this a while ago, but I wanted to add that this shop broke One of the transmission mounts and didn’t actually fix it. The other shop by took my car to fixed it costing me about $100 more. Original: Ignoring price for parts they charged me $2502.00 just for labor to replace a transmission. I supplied the trans so that’s my bad, but I needed to replace it again. At another shop I was quoted $2470.40 labor, parts, and all included. Also got a 12 month 12k mile warranty. In and out in less than two days! Also lies, a bunch of lies! Gave them the car on a Tuesday said it would be done by Friday. Kept getting lies after lies pushing the car back not one or two days but making it two weeks!
