I dropped my vehicle off to have work done. Ben was the gentleman that I’ve dealt with, don’t know if he’s the owner or what but he took off before bringing my vehicle into the his yard. Ben proceeded to call me later that afternoon stating that he could not find my keys. After multiple calls I decided to have a locksmith come open the vehicle to check for keys, no luck! Knowing the area this shop is located, I could not leave my vehicle in the street so I had to have a tow truck come deliver it to my house.Ben denied ever having the keys, but 2 days later he said he found them. Ben would not pay for the locksmith or tow because I did not leave my vehicle with him to be worked on. Can’t trust a guy like that who won’t take responsibility for his mistake. Do not bring your vehicle here. Update after business’s reply: This comment should show potential customers that this man has poor customer service and quite frankly, a lack of character. Why would I let you drag my vehicle with a uhaul trailer, that I brought in for a locked center differential? So you can then scam me for a transmission or some other issue that was not present before. I’m not going to give you my business if you can’t retain simple possession of the keys. If you were unaware sir, vehicles are also broken into and stolen in our city all of the time. Your failure to pull my vehicle into your yard before your errand also shows that you have poor business practices and a lack of concern for customer’s property. Mistakes happen, but denial of accountability privately, then attempting to maintain a good appearance publicly is just sad. A simple apology instead of being upset that I’m taking my business elsewhere would have sufficed. Reimbursement for the issue the you caused would have been better but you wanted to get ugly, so this review is for everyone to see, that is on you, sir.

Ben is one of the nicest, best mechanics I’ve met. He helped me in a pinch with my ac and while helping me offered to work late (on a 104 degree Friday afternoon) for another customer. I will definitely be back and highly recommend!

Called to take my car in to be seen, owner said to come in the following Monday. I have a tight work schedule, so I had to take time off to drive my car over. When I got there, lights were off and nobody was there. I waited for twenty minutes, called, no answer. I got a text message after I left saying to just leave the car on the lot. I wasn’t comfortable just leaving my car and keys there without a staff member… Ended up going to a different place. Owner seems very kind. I’m sure his auto services are great, but I was really disappointed by the customer service.

Highly recommend this business! Ben was very helpful, walking us through the steps needed to diagnose and repair our transmission. He stayed late and went the extra mile to help us get back on the road, which was greatly appreciated. Very knowledgeable and friendly, Ben made our car trouble less stressful.

I called ABQ transmission talk to Ben I had got in an accident and I had Car Crafters fix my car the body work and turns out that they didn't do it right one of the black things that go underneath car by the tire was falling off they forgot to put the clips back so it got ruined by the road. It sound like a flat Tire but I looked at my tire gauge in my car and they were marking right so I had no idea what it was and it only had been a month. A friend told me about ABQ Transmissions so I called and I talked to Ben and he told me to bring it right down he would check and see what was going on I thought it was in the engine come to find out it was not. So I called my insurance let them know but I told him I will not take my car back to Car Crafters due to the fact they messed up my mirror and had to get it replaced I had to take my car back and wait 4 days they had put an aftermarket mirror in my car was not happy. Brought into a ABQ transmission it in he checked it and immediately found the problem at fixed it within 20 minutes was able to get my car back on the road and when the piece came in he put it on immediately Also just recently the front of my car the black thing again was coming down due to I would say too close to parking curbs or somewhere hit a pothole call ABQ Transmissions again and he fixed it immediately very nice friendly willing to help I appreciate everything that he does because all these other places there's always a big wait or they lie to you he is an honest honest person and tells you the truth. And tries to give you the best deal he can and not charge you a lot and tells you usually how long it's going to take so I do highly recommend ABQ Transmissions Roseanne Padilla

Ben was very helpful in a tough situation. My dad and I were in town from out of state when my transmission went out. We took our car there to see what the options were. We did not end up getting any work done but he took time out of his day to help us. He was very knowledgeable and kind.

Took my my truck in to have the clutch redone in November of 2018, charged me just under $1400. Just over a year later, May 15th 2020, had to have a new clutch assembly, fly wheel and throw out bearing put in. The work I was told was done was not done. Was told the fly wheel was going to be surfaced and shims put in to save money. Neither was done. My "new" clutch was burnt along with my flywheel. There were no shims to be found. The throw out bearing was leaking and when I took the truck back before the one year warranty I was told by the owner that the synchros in the transmission were bad and I needed to rebuild it that's why I was having a hard time shifting. Just put all new clutch, fly wheel and throw out bearing, runs and shifts like a dream. Also when they were trying to remove the transmission, I was made aware that all and I mean all the bolts were put back on with locktite. I will not take another vehicle back to this place.

Wanted to write this review for the Own and Tech Ben. I brought my cousin from California and her Ford Fusion (piece of junk) lol broke down in the desert of Arizona almost leaving her stranded. Anyways I took her car to Ben and he went above and beyond what the dealer would have done for her to get her up and going. He came highly recommended by some vendors i deal with, and i have to say Ben did not skip a beat. He is by far one of the most professional mechanics i know, is attitude to strive for excellence and total customer satisfaction is 2nd to none!! Thank you Ben for all you did for Robin and I TK

I'm from out of town and called ABQ Transmission & Auto repair when my Lexus RX350 blew an oil cooling line as I was leaving Albuquerque. It was late in the day and Ben quickly arranged for a tow truck to pick up my vehicle and take it to his shop. He was able to quickly diagnose the problem (after cleaning all the oil from the undercarriage) and fix my car. I had it back in a matter of days and it ran perfectly. Thanks again Ben.

Very friendly and knowledgeable when working on my 06’ Jeep LJ transmission. Fixed some minor (but confusing) transmission issues, and was honest when one problem was out of his capabilities and referred me to an electronic specialist. I could tell he did a lot of thorough research on the issue on his own time, and he ended up saving me a lot of time and money by talking with other local mechanics about my issue.

Was told he’d be able to rebuild my transmission when I dropped it off. A month later after he Dissassmbled it (and gave back to me in pieces) I was told by him that parts for my transmission are not in production anymore and he wouldn’t be able to source anything to be able to rebuild it. This was said after he had taken it apart. After having to pay 200 bucks to get my transmission back disassembled piece by piece it could have all been avoided if he just said from the beginning that he can’t source parts for that transmission. Instead he took it apart and charged me $200 for that, only for me to have to come pick it up in pieces. Not very professional and in my opinion was just a means to make a quick buck.

Wasted my time here. Left a part too be worked on and was promised by Ben D. that it would surely be done before 1 PM on a Saturday. It was not. Gave me a song about other priorities which is no concern of mine. I guess the customer is not a priority. This delayed my business trip by two days. Would never recommend to anyone!

ABQ Transmission & Auto Repair helped me when my car broke down unexpectedly. Ben was more than happy to take my car in and find out what was wrong with it, he even checked in when my tow was taking too long and I had not arrived yet. He addressed the issue, was very informative and honest with pricing, and answered all my questions. What I thought to be a transmission issue was actually a crankshaft sensor, Ben saved me a lot of money with his thorough inspection and diagnosis. I got my car back running better than it has in a while and a new mechanic that I can count on for any future maintenance/repairs. One of the worst customer service experiences I have had. Dan was insanely rude in his handling of a simple question. After the negative review was added he calls me immediately to try to rectify the situation. Sorry Dan. Try not to talk to potential customers that are looking for help like they are beneath you.

Took my car in for transmission work, owner Ben took excellent care of me and rebuilt my transmission had him repair an oil leak. He did an oustanding job car runs like new again! Did it all in a very timely manner and great price! Highly recommend this shop. Will give him all my future buisness.

Ben is amazing! I was having transmission issues and had taken it to several places before finding him and he fixed my transmission, was reasonable but most of all made me feel like family! All I can say is thank you and your wife! My car runs better now than it ever has and I will come back and send everyone there!

I was very fortunate to find Ben... I have never experienced a shop that treats their customers with the *highest level of professionalism* and respect that is as friendly as Ben's... He performs his work with reliability and at *very reasonable prices*... Ben is an expert mechanic who takes pride in his work... Hands down the best in Albuquerque!

Ben, Orlando and ABQ Transmission were terrific. We were driving through Albuquerque on our way to Texas in our F350. Transmission started slipping badly on the I40 and we were able to limp the truck to Ben's shop. There were chunks of clutch material in the oil pan - not good. Ben presented 3 replacement options. 24 hrs later, after Ben worked late, the transmission was replaced and we were back on the road. We drove 1000 miles finishing our trip and the transmission feels great. Ben is thorough, detailed and conscientious. Great job 👍
