I recently completed the restoration of a 1958 Corvette, and needed to get the carbs and timing diaed in. After taking the vette to another shop without success, I received a reference to Ace Automotive and Fuel and booked an appointment. The engine was running so poorly that I had to tow the car to the shop, and when I started the engine there, it was obvious it had some issues. After doing the initial diagnosis, they correctly identified that the carb floats were not adjusted correctly, and that the valves were also possibly out of tolerance. There was an exhaust leak, and the plugs had fouled due to the carb float issues. They repaired everything, and when I picked up the car yesterday, it ran great! When I dropped the car off, they gave me a written estimate for the diagnosis, and then as they discovered problems they updated the estimate and requested approval to continue so there were no surprises. This is a fantastic shop, and I highly recommend them! I'm forever grateful to Allen, and the rest of his team at Ace!!

I can NOT say enough good things about this joint! Current issue: 13Nov24, Was in San Mateo having lunch with a customer. Go out to my trusty 04 Dodge Sprinter 3500. She starts and dies. I had the 04 towed to MBZ dealer in San Jose at almost $650.00. Call my advisor and he says maybe Monday 18Nov24... I understand that they are busy. But in general, the dealer has no sense of urgency! This is my work truck. No work, no eat, unhappy customers that do not care that my truck does not run... I Think, think think and then the light comes on and I call Ace and get somebody that seems to give a shit about another person. He said that they are busy but get it towed over and they will look at it between other projects. Another $300.00 in towing. Ace ACTUALLY calls me to say my 04 is adorning their parking lot, unprompted to boot!!! I have a job at oh dark early on 18Nov24 and I need some tools, so I swing by to do the extraction. I see the 04 sitting out on the sidewalk so I assumed it has yet to be shoved in the yard to look under the hood. The pleasant desk jockey said he will get the key and a mechanic walks in and says take your truck it is done! You could have knocked me over with a feather. I drove back to my office and get a tech to drive with me to pick up the truck. I come back and Henry said we have not test driven it. I jump in shotgun, and we have a spin around the block. She is purring like a kitten. I had to confess that I towed it to the dealer before bringing it here! They gave me a list of items that need to be attended to. I will make a non- emergency appointment to fix the issues. This is not my first rodeo with these guys. They replace a glow plug that another guy could/would not do. They replaced all my injectors when the dealer was hemming & hawing about doing it. They run their operation like I try to. They are friendly, fast & fair. I really wanted to start this out with "DO NOT USE ACE!" just because I do not want them to get so busy that they can't help me in the future... I think that they are a class act top to bottom. I would even bring my wife as their bathroom is clean! If all businesses ran this well and our government ran this well, we would not be in the condition we are in. It swells my heart that I have found such an oasis in the middle of Hell. Thank you ACE team. goACEgo PS: Ole Yeller has over 418,000 miles. Henry said on the test drive, "oh it's just about broken in!..." I agree! I love my truck!

We had an old ford carburetor that we needed rebuilding. Called Ace up. Dropped it off and within a day had it back on the ford running like a champ. It's great experts still exist out there. Thank you very much for the courteous and professional work and experience

Brought my 81 Celica to rebuild the carburetor and couldn't ask for more. Expect to leave your car here for some time (not a bad thing for me) but tho guys are busy. They also made sure the timing, cables, etc were in good condition to get the most out of my pretty much brand new carburetor. Great service!

I don't trust my car with anyone. A friend recommended Ace Automotive & Fuel Systems to service my car. I contacted AA&FS and they did a great job servicing my car. They gave me a assessment of the work to be done and with a cost budget. Every step I was contacted and explained what needed to be done. I was invited to come to the shop and review the assessment and discuss if I wanted the work completed. Everyone at Ace Automotive was very professional and friendly towards. Every promise Ace Automotive made was kept. The service on my car was completed on time and within the agreed upon budget. Very happy with Ace Automotive work on my car. I have a 2018 Colorado Diesel ZR2, it was time for a timing belt replacement based on miles. I contacted Ryan at Ace, explained what I needed and arranged a time to get it done. I wanted all GM parts, along with a new water pump, pulleys, tensioners etc. They were very accommodating. All parts ordered and onsite before I dropped truck off. Work completed on time, received all my old parts back ( which I like), Truck runs great. Good price, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Would use again, and recommend

They are just simply amazing. They not only tell you what's wrong but after they fix it, they will walk you through show you the parts that were affected and teach you if you ask question. Brought my '78 Datsun B210 to them for some idle issues and tune up. They diagnosed the issue with the carb, cleaned it up, tuned the car, and fixed/notated any other issues they came across during their time with the car. Communication was amazing, work was impeccable, and staff is extremely friendly and caring. 100% recommend Ace for any carburetor/engine problems, I wont be taking my cars anywhere else.

Very happy with my experience here. I have an old 1992 Mitsubishi box truck that had a diesel leak at the high-pressure fuel distributor. Although my truck is old, it's under the GVWR for CARB restrictions on diesel trucks. So I really wanted to keep it running. Plus, I didn't want to spend $40 to $60k on a replacement truck. Found ACE online. Made an appointment, then brought it in. Long story short, truck was repaired sooner than I expected, cheaper than what I anticipated, AND less than what I was quoted. No more leak. Truck is running good. If I need any other service on my truck, ACE IS THE PLACE!!! Thanks guys!!! Very happy customer.

In December of 2022, Ace Automotive and Fuel Systems worked on my 1985 Ford F-250 truck, which had approx.105K miles, because it had issues starting and running. My truck was in that shop for a total of 22 days and after paying $1,726.24 it still had the same problem. When it appeared that they could not repair the truck where I could depend on it to start and run, I in person went to the shop and spoke to the owner, Allen Amstutz, and requested a full refund. He immediately declined to make a refund of any kind saying that he had been in business for 40 years. At that time, I was prepared to accept any reasonable refund including paying him for his actual out-of-pocket cost for parts and labor. After he made it clear to me that any type of refund would not be considered, I decided to file a Small Claims Lawsuit for the total amount of $1,726.24. I also contacted THE CALIFORNIA BUREAU OF AUTOMOTIVE REPAIRS in conjunction with the Small Claims Lawsuit. Long story short, we went to court on June 30, 2023, and Allen Amstutz was ordered to give me a full refund of $1,726.24. Instead, he filed an appeal, with no additional evidence, which was conducted on August 30, 2023. He also lost the appeal and was ordered to pay me the total refund of $1,726.24. Allen Amstutz is a very stubborn businessman, and I don't think that he knows that much about repairing motor vehicles, as he probably doesn't work on vehicles himself. After owning cars most of my life, I found out that the proper protocol when complaining about mechanical work that was performed on your vehicle by an Automotive Repair Shop that is not satisfactory, the best thing to do is to contact THE CALIFORNIA BUREAU OF AUTOMOTIVE REPAIRS. That agency is like the IRS to Automotive Repair Shops and most automotive repair shops do not want to deal with THE CALIFORNIA BUREAU OF AUTOMOTIVE REPAIRS. Any repair shop that lost a lawsuit and did not attempt a compromise before the lawsuit would NOT be thinking of their future in that business because of the negative repercussions and publicity that would be generated as the direct results of that lawsuit. If you take your vehicle to ACE AUTOMOTIVE AND FUEL SYSTEMS for repairs and you are not satisfied, TAKE THEM TO COURT, because you have nothing to lose, and they have your money. I will never take my vehicle or refer anyone to Ace Automotive and Fuel Systems for repairs. BTW, I ended up repairing my own vehicle and it now runs perfectly.

Review is just on the scheduler: They called and scheduled an appointment and then a week later sent an email telling me to take a simple job to another shop with no explanation other than it was my problem. Idk if two people are scheduling but I'd made plans based on what they'd said. I won't bother with them again.

I got work done to my car here I paid alot of money to get it check and fixed. How I regret taking it there since I got my car back. I at least took it back five times and they still couldn't fixed my car right. I had to take it to another shop to check and adjust it. I got B.S. the whole time by them and was told it was one thing after another. I spend alot of money and I got rip off for the job they did. I wouldn't recommend this shop to no one. Very unhappy with their work. Two thumbs down.

I took my 66 AC Cobra in for a new clutch throw outinstall and they did a great job finding and fixing other issues i hadnt seen car runs like a champ highly recommend this shop for any hot rodders as well as regular maintainance ...great job!

When I didn't pass smog, I looked everywhere to get my 1985 Toyota FJ60 emissions issues fixed. With Toyotas of this age, it can be tricky and experts are few. When I saw other Toyotas of this age in their yard, thats a good sign.These guys are experts and got it done. Runs so much better now.

I have a C2 Vette and was on the edge of selling a 50year dream, due to the dishonest or incompetent mechanics that work on these cars. I spent thousands on trying to get the carburetor to run the way I thought it should and would constantly have problems a week or two after I had these other shops adjust or work on it. I have enough mechanical skill to take my carburetor off and put it back on. For just 300.00 Ace fixed all my problems!!!! My car has run like a top for over a year now!!!! Ace will have my business as long as I own my car and I hope that’s until I stop breathing. Thank You Ace.for your honesty, ability, and integrity. You saved my dream. Darrell. 08/28/20. I returned to Ace for a stalling problem (turned out to be a faulty fuel pump). Ace never having seen the car (only the carburetor) brought to my attention other issues that I needed to address and Ryan took the time to explain and show me the reasons why this work should be done. They were completely transparent and I proceeded with the work based on my prior experience. I could NOT BE more pleased with the way my car runs now it’s like new and is simply fantastic. I’m so happy to have it home and I’m so happy I discovered Ace Fuel Systems my life long dream of owning a 64 C2 is secure.
