Really was impressed by the service, customer service. They were beyond thorough and communicated very well the recommendations my car needed and help me fix the issue I came in for. I love how they’re able to show photos and details of their findings during their car inspection, you’re also constantly kept in the loop of what happens next. Also really appreciated the pick up/drop off option, super convenient. Sean and Carlos was super nice and really enjoyed meeting and working with them. But were super knowledgeable and take pride in their work!

A simple brake job at Aero Auto Repair nearly KILLED me on the freeway! I wish I had never taken my vehicle to Aero Auto Repair. Let me repeat that: I wish I had never taken my vehicle to Aero Auto Repair. I cannot understate how scary and unprofessional this shop is. I went to Aero Auto Repair to have my brakes replaced and the oil changed using a coupon I received in the mail. Both jobs turned out to be a disaster, seriously questioning the expertise of this shop. First, they put on new rotors and brake pads, both front and back. Second, they did the Oil Change Special for $49. Given that my Jeep took 7 quarts of oil, I paid extra beyond the coupon because it was more than 5 quarts as the coupon stated, which makes sense. More on that later. Without rambling on too much, I just need to state in this review that both jobs were done incorrectly. First, the brakes were put on to where they were rubbing on the rotors as I drove. It was very light at first to where I did not notice, but as I got onto the freeway, the speeds rubbed and expanded the metal due to heat. I started to wobble and lose control of the car, while my car suddenly started to slow down. I had to veer dangerously over to the shoulder in a desperate attempt to be safe, and it was dark outside so I had cars swerving and honking to avoid my catastrophe. When I pulled over on the freeway, the brakes were glowing bright and red, smoking when I stopped. This happened right after picking up my car at the end of the day. I immediately started to slowly drive the vehicle back to Aero Auto (see video) on Kearny Villa Rd. while they were squeaking and rubbing, and the brakes were HOT. I had to drive slowly back, taking frequent breaks (pun intended) for them to cool down. I couldn't go faster than 20mph or the car would start to wobble. Nevertheless, my car was screaming at me, howling in pain. For Aero Auto to not be able to perform two simple tasks makes me feel the need to let everyone else know that this shop should be avoided, no matter what coupon they send out. It is clear from other reviews that they are not the experts they claim to be; they obviously do not check their work and follow standard mechanic expectations. After dropping off the car at Aero Auto Repair from the near disaster on the freeway, they told me that there was "no problem to begin with". Cars do not go from a massive squeak and creaking problem to having resolved itself overnight. They hid their mistake by not admitting it, spending four hours fixing the issue and then stating there was no problem to begin with after they took it for a test drive. I needed a second opinion, so I took my Jeep to another shop to have them look it over. That's when I found out about Aero Auto's workmanship. The second shop exclaimed that my brakes are severely worn with significant wear and tear on brand new brakes. They looked at my ODB data after Aero Auto took my Jeep for a "joy ride" to test it, and showed me that Aero Auto was redlining my engine to the max over a dozen times, and slamming on the brakes hard. Now I have brand new brakes and rotors that have a significantly reduced lifespan because of their work, not to mention the extreme wear and tear they put on the engine by revving it to its limits, abusing the vehicle to "test" it. Also, the other shop found that there was only 5 quarts of oil that went into the Jeep, not the 7 quarts that is required. How could they miss this? Is this the kind of attention to detail you want on your vehicle? Do not make the same mistake that many of us made that were willing to put a review in. This shop is not worth the trouble, and after taking it here I have heard from multiple people that this shop is not trustworthy. How can you trust their "warranty" when they cannot even perform the job properly to begin with, nor admit that any mistake was made? Save yourself the trouble, and continue shopping around for a more reputable Auto Repair shop. I hope this helps your decision on whether or not you want to entrust Aero Auto Repair to do work on your car.

Dropping off my car was easy and very straightforward. The staff was on top of everything from start to finish. The only downside is that the service was so good, I couldn’t afford most of it. Fair warning, you will pay a pretty penny to get your car serviced. If you have the money then it won’t be a big deal. But definitely keep this in mind if you’re somebody on a budget.

My Miata had a problem with fueling and gas gage. aero auto repair did a very thorough inspection to identify the problem and fix it. My Miata is running and feels like a new car. Thank you Aero.

Friendly service and quick diagnostics resolved my Service Engine Soon light. Oil change was a little high but most likely I will return to Aero Auto Repair again for maintenance and future repairs! Happy to see my car working properly!

I recently visited Aero Auto repair to get my splash shield fixed, and I couldn’t be happier with the service! From the moment I walked in, the staff was friendly and welcoming. They quickly assessed the issue and explained what needed to be done, making sure I understood the repairs. The turnaround time was impressive; I expected to wait longer, but they had my car ready in no time. The quality of the work was excellent—my splash shield is now secure and looking great! Legitimate one of (if the most) professional auto repair shops within the San Diego area. Carlos took my phone call about ten minutes after opening, told him I had an appointment on Thursday but my car needed to be seen on Monday and they had fit me in to Mondays schedule almost immediately. The fact it was last minute they could’ve told me to go somewhere else but they did not which should be testament enough of their professional. Highly recommend if you want fair pricing, reasonable turn around (second time going and got my car back same day)

Read the reviews on Yelp. I should have checked out these reviews prior to bringing in my vehicle for a check engine light that was on. They told me it needed a new fuel injector, and the prices they were quoting were pretty high, but I approved the repair. I was lead to believe these were the only issues with my vehicle, but for the next week they kept bringing up new issues that required more money to fix. I have an older truck, but it only has about 70,000 miles on it and has been well taken care of. I asked more questions, like photos and videos of these issues. After I started voicing my concerns, the manager John called me and told me that they were just going to reverse all of the repairs they had done. They also said that I still owed them for the diagnostic. The fact that they responded like this just goes to show the type of of business they are running.

The great thing about aero auto repair is they’re very user friendly for those who don’t know much about the mechanics of what needs to be done (like me). Had an issue with my cars battery leaking and ruining the battery cable to let my car run. Once I got my car into the shop, the team was upfront with me about the cost, types of repairs, and communicative with me about what would be needed to be done (and types of possible repairs). I do some car maintenance of my own so I had already bought and brought everything for the work I had been planning to do, but realized the issue was out of my depth. It looks like they were able to use everything I had planned to use, and the car runs beautifully again! Possibly even better as I track my gas and fixing the issues given me back and additional 30-40 miles per tank. They didn't pressure me about any other issues (I needed an oil change and coolant top up which I did myself), and didn't come at me with any mysterious issues I wasn't aware that my car had. Overall the team struck me as honest, professional, and fast with their work. The whole experience was smooth and they were kind despite how scatterbrained I had been the whole time. I've had issues in the past with mechanics (I suspect one business even stole gas out of my vehicle), and there was none of that with this company, which I greatly appreciated! I like to tinker with car repairs. I own a Golf TDI, 2005, that I had tried to repair a stalling issue. I tried for 5 months to fix it myself. I finally needed an expert opinion. I had car towed to Aero auto repair for them to diagnose the problem. I was told about the problem with the car. I had it towed back home and did exactly what they said the problem with the car was. Aero auto repair was absolutely correct. I’m a happy owner of a running car without problems. Thanks to Aero.

When I walked into aero automotive the staff was friendly and welcoming, also when it came to inspection it was given to me with a breakdown with video which I have never had that given to me before in a repair. All in all good service I will recommend them.

Stay away from these people. My son was visiting San Diego for his 21st birthday. His check engine light came on and he went to aero auto. They charged him $200 for a diagnostic. He had his oil changed the day before. His diagnostic said his oil was black and needed to be changed. The diagnostic also said the spark plugs needed to be changed. They quoted me $700 to change 4 spark plugs. We paid them the $200 and choose to have the car serviced elsewhere. After we paid the $200, we asked them if they could top off the water in the radiator. They said sure, if we paid them $100. These people are not honorable people and have no morals or values. I would highly encourage all to stay away from this shady shop or prepare to be ripped off.

They were quick and helpful; same day service on a Wednesday even with last minute suspension work and alignment. Jasmine was very knowledgeable, explained the job patiently, and was communicating and keeping me updated every step of the way via text. I appreciated the AAA discount too. They also were willing to try cleaning out a couple of minor old parts, saving me money compared to ordering new ones.

Turned my vehicle into these amazing people for cylinder misfires and they did an amazing job on troubleshooting and test driving to making sure the problem was absolutely solved before giving the car back. They also did an all around inspection of my car for free with amazing communication on what they had found. Overall, I’d say this is probably the best mechanic shop I’ve been to in a very long time, the communication online with pictures and on the phone were very thorough and helped with understanding the actual problem and what to do to fix it. Thank you guys for taking care of my car!
