I drive by this shop almost every day so when it was time for a quote on a timing belt for my 03 beetle, I figured I’d stop by and see all the cool stuff that was parked outside. Met Bill and his awesome doggy, and could immediately tell he not only knew his stuff and still seemed passionate about working on these older VWs. He gave me a rough estimate, and being that this was my second time around in a 1.8t, it was actually a really competitive price… but I didn’t really bother shop it. Conveniently, about two weeks later I come out to find all of the coolant sitting under my beetle… water pump gave up. Called bill, told him the situation, and he was able to make a spot for me. I threw another bottle of coolant in and limped the sad beetle over. I expected this to be at least a 3-5 day affair… but to my surprise, while at work the next day, Bill calls to tell me I’ve got a water pump, timing belt, basically a whole new cooling system… and the whole thing still came in $50 under budget. I was back on the road with joy in my heart the same evening. Let’s just say… not all heroes wear capes. But this one deff has a cool sidekick!

Bill fixed the hvac blower switch on our 1993 Eurovan as we passed through Phoenix. He slotted us in and took care of us with zero notice. Bonuses: The shop pups are absolute sweeties, and for VW van fans the place is a shrine. And they have a VERY solid selection of drinks in their pop machine!

Bill and his team did great work. My 2002 Rialta needed brakes and a tune up and it was done on time and for a fair price. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

I was outside of Phoenix when I heard some noise coming from the front end of my 1989 westfalia. Bill was extremely busy, but when I described the noise to him he suggested I come in so that he could have a look. While up on the hoist he showed me what the problem was and fit me in the following week. All at a affordable price. If you are near Phoenix and need some work done, I highly recommend Affordable German.

This is the place for RIALTA! The owner even has one. Very friendly and accommodating. I had a breakdown in My Rialta. They got me back in the road even tho they had a backlog of work. Service like that takes the stress out of traveling cross country in a 23 year old motorhome much easier. And yes they are Affordable. Considering VW isn't always that inexpensive to have repaired.

A friend of mine who is a Volkswagen mechanic recommended Affordable German. I called in advance, and asked if and when- they would be able to take my car? I explained the services I needed, and was given a quote. The quote was very fair and the waiting time for repairs was only two weeks, which is faster than most. Bill called me to let me know exactly what was wrong with my car and verify all of the work, before it was done. Bill is friendly, caring and understanding. (My first impression of him is that he is a wonderful human! ) He did the repairs quickly. The overall price was even lower that the original quote. I saved a ton of savings, by coming here. I have been back on the road for three weeks now, with zero issues! I am very pleased. I cannot recommend Affordable German enough💯✅🏆

Bill and Daniel were super kind and knowledgeable about my 2002 VW Eurovan. The work they did and recommended was professional, high quality and affordable. They found hard to find parts for my van and installed them with care presenting the old parts they replaced to me. I first used Bill when he was working out of his home garage and he replaced the engine on my vw rabbit. I have been using and referring folks to Bill’s shop for 29 years. One time I had a VW van and it broke down in Odham AZ, which is in the middle of no where. Bill drove his personal vehicle there and fixed it for free because they had recently repaired that part of the van and it failed. Don’t know a soul on this planet that would do that!! He is honest, reliable, friendly and overall an amazing human. He is a straight shooter and knows his craft inside and out. He will not try to sell you on anything doesnt other than exactly what your car needs! Laslty, his prices are the best you will ever find!

These guys are incredible & extremely knowledgeable. They were able to diagnose what was going on with my car in a matter of minutes of me pulling into their shop. Where a different shop quoted me 10k for a new engine (wasn’t an engine related problem). They’re super accommodating, super quick, and very kind. You can tell they really care about making their customers happy. Plus bonus points for adorable, very friendly rescue dogs. P.S: For ladies who are trying to find an honest shop, this is the one!

This is the only shop in town that knows what they are doing with VW eurovans. My 2003 had a clock spring that VW doesn't make anymore, but they brought it back to life. And they found a new one somewhere in the US just in case they couldn't fix it, something that I had given up on. Going to be going back, that's for sure.

Bill is the best. Hands down. I was referred to Affordable German by multiple people here in Flagstaff and Bill helped me understand and diagnose an issue on my Eurovan. It’s obvious that Bill cares about his customers and wants to help. Without hesitation I would refer Affordable German to anyone. If you live in Flagstaff and need a VW mechanic, make the drive to Phoenix, after much research he is the only qualified VW/Eurovan expert near us.

Bought a pickup from Bills yard. It wasn’t running at the time but I asked if he could get it running for me if I bought it. He said he could and it was for a great deal! He needed to rebuild the engine and the lifters and such but got it all done for me and I drove it off the lot! So impressed with this businesses work! I couldn’t be happier! He even power washed it off for me because it was real dirty. Truck has all original parts and pieces and the dash cluster works and everything! Very impressed because the truck is 40 years old! Thank you for your honesty and business bill! Thank you to the mechanic as well! I’ll be recommending you guys to anybody I know and will be taking all my vw’s to this shop from here on out!

Name says German but they only service specific cars. They are also very particular. They wont diagnos a car that was purchased from an auction or from certain places. Ive tried to do business w them on multiple cases. Id recommend going elaewhere for the repairs. Its just not worth it. The overall service stinks and it wont take long for you to realize it.

The best. Total axle failure right before New Years. Bill switched out axles and got me back on the road in no time. His skills at welding made it possible to make a perfect fit.

I was on the road in my 85 VW westy with some problems that were stressing me out, and it was such a relief to be able to bring it to people as knowledgeable and friendly as Bill and Dan. Bill made time on short notice to help diagnose and repair some problems I was having, taught me a few things along the way, and got me going again later the same day with a huge weight off my shoulders. If you have to break down, make sure to break down near these guys!

Reasonably priced, and they did excellent work. Also friendly! We went a bit far to go there on a family recommendation, and I thought the idea was ridiculous, tbh, but it was actually totally worth it. It's pretty rare to find that in a mechanic. We'll definitely go back if we need anything else.

The wait was long for everything. I paid for unlimited bowling , pool and the shy walk also laser tag. Got there at 1am and only bowled one game because you have to stop after 1 game so others can play. And ecerything else was every hour so you sit or spend more money on games. A rip off
