Extremely kind and honest people that won’t tell you something is wrong with your car just to get more money out of you. Feels like one of the last honest car repair shops. The only thing that would make it better is if they expanded to a bigger shop to accommodate more cars and meet their high demand!

This place was great under the prior owner...can't exactly remember his name, but since being taken over by an out of state corporation, it's gone downhill. My suggestion: support locally-owned/operated shops and keep your money in Portland instead of sending it out of the community.

Affordable Tire & Brake Co. worked my car into their busy schedule and in less than 24 hours, gave me a repair estimate for damage to my car and the cost for diagnostic fee. There was an additional small charge on top of that fee which was never really explained. Overall, fast, friendly service.

Our car died while my wife was on her way to work and roadside assistance dropped off the car at Affordabke Tire and Brake. I believed it was the battery and drove to ask if I could try jumping myself and take it to a parts store to replace the battery. Chris was nice enough to offer to jump the car himself, which was successful. Chris was again kind to offer me the option to drive down to the parts store or have them install the battery. Thanks to their generosity I had Chris and the team install the battery and they had me out right away. Their price and service was in fact, affordable and we can't thank them enough.

FOURTH UPDATED REVIEW AS OF OCTOBER 2024 My car needed an alignment and I wanted to get the tires rotated. Once again, Affordable Tire came through with flying colors. Even with minor computer glitches this morning, the team managed to get my vehicle tires aligned and rotated in a reasonable amount of time. When it comes to tires and tire maintenance, there's no other place I'll go to for service. Affordable is the BEST!!! THIRD UPDATED REVIEW AS OF JULY 2024 Still worthy of six stars. I am not some fanboy who dreams of hanging with the Affordable Tire team, I'm just someone who is impressed when good service is considered the norm in a business. Affordable came through once again when I need replacement tires for my son's car. (I am a great dad, willing to buy decent tires so my adult child can travel safely.) Once again, the entire process was great and I still highly recommend Affordable for your tire needs. SECOND UPDATED REVIEW AS OF OCTOBER 2023 No change from the last review. Still 5 plus (heck, let's make it six) stars. Buying tires is never fun, I don't care who you are, there's that task of getting estimates, will the tires fit my car, will they look good and most of all, how much will it cost for all this. Affordable Tire and Brake makes life easy for people like me. Great selection of tires, great staff (kudos to the front desk team) and service that cannot be beat. If you need tires, tire service, or any service for your car, Affordable is highly recommended by me. UPDATED REVIEW! No change. Still 5 plus stars. Went in with a screw in a tire and saw when I pulled up that the tires looked like they needed replacing. Had Affordable check out the tires before making any repair and was told I was right, it was time to buy new tires. Not only was the purchase and installation quick and easy, I was in and out within two hours. (And I was a walk in!) Again, you can go anyplace for tires in this city, but you won't get the professionalism, quality and great service that you can only get from Affordable Tire and Brake. I won't buy tires anywhere else. ( I'll also add it's within walking distance of plenty of great places for coffee and breakfast if you're going to wait.) I purchased tires for two vehicles from Affordable Tire and Brake. Over the last couple of years I have need the tires rotated, balanced and repaired on occasion. Each visit to Affordable Tire reminds me that I made the right choice. Everyone, from the front desk to the technicians, handled my needs in a professional and prompt manner. I posted a review elsewhere that pointed out that the lug nuts on my car were torqued to factory specs, this alone impressed me. My most recent visit involved a possible issue with a leaking tire. The tire was checked and all was good. From selection, service and a great experience (we're talking tires here) I highly recommend Affordable Tire and Brake for maintaining the four most important things your car rides on!

It's not often that you get treated like a friend by a business with no strings attached. These guys remembered my name on sight, went above and beyond, fixed my issue, and charged me exactly zero dollars. I mean, when does that happen anymore? They are my go to. It's the first time I've ever been inclined to tip my mechanic.

Every time I come to Affordable Tire, I'm struck by the friendly, honest and helpful service I get. I have an older car and I'm on a budget, but I can rely on Affordable Tire every time to give me a clear idea of what needs priority and what can wait,.. possibly forever. Two thumbs way up on these guys.

I've been going to Affordable Tire and Brake for years. They do good work but the affordable part is highly debatable. I was recently charged over $500 for a Honda transponder key and the programming of said key. In addition, I paid $149 for diagnostic. That part is fair enough, since I didn't know why my car wouldn't start. Long story short, over $650 out the door. Shortly after checking out I noticed a fee of nearly $50 for shop supplies. I asked about being refunded for that fee as no supplies were used in just providing me a programmed key. I was told that fee is built in to every service and would be difficult to refund. I was offered a free oil change in the future instead. While I appreciate the gesture, I'm not going back. It turns out Batteries and Bulbs provides the same key for $40 and only charges $60 to program it. I wish I would have known before over payment at Affordable Tire and Brake. I hate to burn this bridge because they do good work but I live off 40k a year so I'm hardly in the position to pay $500 for $100 key. Moral of the story - if you're broke like me, be sure to do your research before swiping your card at Affordable Tire and Brake

The people are nice but the communication is lacking. I had an appointment for Monday they didn't even look at it until Thursday but I did get it back Friday so it was a fast turn around, My suggestion would be to let people know how long you think they'll have it so then I can know when to drop it off. Having an appointment didn't seem to speed up anything but that's my fault for not asking. Cost was spendy, But I guess everything is now. I would definitely use them again though.

My experience here was incredible. I was hoping to get my tires replaced the day I called and they made time for me. They didn't have the same size as the tires that were originally on my vehicle but were able to put on tires that were slightly larger, and though it was a little more expensive, they discounted the tires for me to make it as affordable as possible. I highly recommend going here if you're in a pinch and need fast and reliable service. Will definitely return for anything car related. Thanks to everyone there!

They've always been great. I got good quality tires for a decent price 5 years ago, and they are very friendly and quick in fitting me in for the rotations. Always friendly and helpful. Added Sept. 2024 - got a flat from a nail on one of the four new tires I got there a few years ago. Stupidly drove a few blocks on the flat and rendered it unrepairable. I put the spare on and went to Affordable on Hawthorne, and in spite of being really busy they also called it unrepairable, which I'm sure was honest, sold me a reasonable new tire, and put it on right there. Thanks!

No Fuss, No Muss Brought the car in, they texted and emailed me the estimate and then when they got the go ahead they fixed it. Very quick turnaround. People are very kind and efficient. Cars runs great.

We got a puncture in our tire from chains and they fixed it up free of charge because the tires were still under their warranty! In and out fast!

Solid work replacing the front brake pads and rotors on my '13 Subaru Impreza at a decent price. However, beware the upsell. Their multi-point inspection claimed that I needed new front lower control arms and a replacement wheel bearing — for which they quoted me $3,600. 😱 I got a 2nd opinion from an independent mechanic who specializes in Subarus; definitely needed a new wheel bearing, but suspension work unnecessary. On a certain level, I get it. Inspections help limit the shop's liability and they gotta turn a profit. But ALWAYS get a 2nd opinion, especially for repairs you didn't originally come in for.

This was our 4th or 5th time using Affordable Tire and Break and we have always had a very good experience. Front desk is super friendly and helpf, mechanics know what they are doing and pricing seems fair!

I had an exceptional experience! I brought in my Jeep Wrangler, and Toby immediately took a look at it. They thoroughly inspected everything and, remarkably, found nothing that needed fixing. To top it off, they didn’t charge me a cent for their time. It’s so rare to encounter such honesty and integrity. I can’t recommend them highly enough!
