Al’s Automotive genuinely saved me I was in an accident in Portland, a hundred miles away from home and had to leave my car in a parking lot while I figured out what to do and be seen by my doctor for the whip lash. Just when I was at the height of my stresses, when I came back to my car the gas tank had been drilled into and my converter was sawed into. I was so devastated, and even more devastated when looking for someone to tow my car and help me fix her enough to bring her home. Other places quoted me thousands for repairs and refused to work with me when it came to finding a new gas tank from the pick n pull, insisting I had to pay top dollar for brand new. I found them on the bottom of the Google search, a few miles from me. I called and was immediately offered a tow and we worked together to gather the parts she needed. They were incredibly understanding and let me leave my car on the lot longer than anyone else would have till I could pick it up. They were so kind and understanding, wishing me well and checking up on me even after I’d left. They were incredibly fair and it was fixed for far under what I was quoted by some greedy places. Beyond that the work they accomplished speaks for itself. The weld work was beautiful and incredibly secure, and the gas tank they installed works perfectly. I was concerned since the last time I’d had a similar experience the gas tank no longer read levels, but they ensured it was in perfect working order and it is! I really have nothing but amazing things to say about them. I plan on making the drive up when it comes to the fine tunes that are to come once the body shop finishes its repairs. This place has amazing staff, amazingly talented mechanics, honest people- five stars really doesn’t feel like enough.

Had my brakes and rotors replaced here at someone’s recommendation. They got me in quickly and the car was ready in a few hours. The guys here are honest and didn’t bait and switch the parts even though my car required a more expensive model they honored the price quoted. Will come back when my car needs work done!

I was referred to Al's Auto by a friend. The best referral ever. Obtaining a good mechanic is difficult. But I can say, that my experience with Marvin has been amazing. He provides fair prices, great work, excellent customer service, but what I like is his honesty and willingness to go that extra mile. I highly recommend this company.

Marvin is a highly trusted mechanic. I’ve been going to him for the past 4 years. He’s done great work on my previous A4, G37x, and my current A7. He’s honest, reliable, trustworthy, thorough, and has fair pricing for how great of service he gives and he always gets the job done fast and in a timely manner. I highly recommend this mechanic!

SCAMMERS! BEWARE!!! Non certified shop! they will not diagnose and give you any information you request on repairs. Would not give us part numbers or even disclose what they repaired. went in with no lights on my dash and left with all lights illuminated. will be taking legal action.

Stayed late and made multiple parts runs to get new brakes on my work van same day. Great price. Great service. Highly recommend, and it's also a gas station. Great local auto repair shop in SE Portland.

My bank wanted me to get a mechanical inspection on a 2009 chevy avalanche before finalizing the loan. This was the 10th place I called on a Friday afternoon who could actually do it last minute. The mechanic saved me $12,000 for the price of an $88 inspection. He took detailed pictures of a cover up job on the rusty frame and also highlited other defects including leaking oil cooler and transmission lines that I did not immediately notice. If I need another inspection while car shopping in the area, I will be back 100% Thank you kind sir.

Told me what I needed, but they were not pushy, didn't make me feel guilty for not having another 700 bucks on top of the 300 I'd been quoted. Good experience, will return.

After a recent cross-country trip, my engine light popped up and wouldn't go off again. While I was filling up at the gas station, I asked if they might take a look, and I'm so glad I did! Dan did a great job on my little car, not only fixing the engine issue but also taking the time to explain some other things I need done soon (I recently passed 100k miles). Plus, the price was reasonable and it was done sooner than I had expected! While I am bummed to know that I have more pending repairs soon, I'm happy to have found Al's and am confident in the work they do.

Have taken a car to get brakes done. The breaks are stiffer than ever, took a van to get water pump changed and now it makes a horrible noise. I would recommend it as an emergency pit stop but don’t recommend you put your hands completely on them.
