Alternative Automotive is a 5 star family owned auto shop in Tulsa. Very attentive, professional and honest. We dropped our 2010 Nissan Murano on the appointment day in the morning for air conditioning system cooling intermittently. The very same day in the afternoon, Mike contacted me with the diagnostic and complete explanation of the service required. The AC system was ok and it only needed a freon evacuation and recharge as it was very low on freon. They did a thorough inspection for system leaks. At the end, the repair bill was exactly just for the service provided. Our Nissan Murano is now blowing strong and super cool air. I highly recommend Alternative Automotive for auto shop services.

Made an appointment with Alternate Automotive and when we showed up they were ready to work. Good group of people that were honest and transparent. Had an issue with our car A/C and they were able to pinpoint the problem and get it repaired. Another place in owasso wanted to replace the entire A/C system costing almost 4 times the amount. They were able to save us a good amount of money and did the repair in a timely manner. I would recommend them.

Outstanding auto mechanics. They took very good care of me and my car. They are very good at what they do, and they are HONEST. I put my car in, as it was making some strange noises. They looked at it and said the water pump needed to be replaced, and the tensioner pulley. I gave them the go-ahead, and they dove in. When they got in to it, the pulley just needed to be replaced with grease. A lot of people out there, would have changed me for the R&R, but they were honest. The owners are Christian and they run their business according to the principals laid out by Jesus. Very Highest Recommendation for these folks. Honest, high quality work,and they KNOW automobiles. Just be sure to call for an appointment, as this kind of quality workmanship keeps them pretty busy 😍 😍 😍.

When my truck had an issue while I was out of town they quickly helped get it in and fixed. I am so thankful they were able to get it back up and running so I could get back home. Highly recommend.

I was using this mechanic and they seemed nice and did a good job but they asked me (through text) to cancel my appointment because they were too busy and then they never put out the effort to reschedule me and I never heard from them again so I found another mechanic.

I highly recommend Alternative Automotive. Mike and his crew were able to successfully repair my son's Ford F150 differential issue. I found them to be very honest, knowledgeable and very determined to make a full repair, all while keeping costs as low as possible. Had an oil change, coolant flush, and the front end rebuilt on my 2001 F-150. Drives like new now. They also service my Lincoln. Prices are reasonable and I really like both Mike and Karen. I've found my mechanic for life!

I have an older vehicle which was giving me some problems. The people at alternative automotive helped walk me through prices ,parts ,and alternative decisions to make sure I made the right choice on fixing or getting rid of the vehicle. I really felt like they were on my team, and not worried about making a buck on my behalf. They are officially "my mechanic " and I will go nowhere else.

Make it known on your website that you don't work on vehicles older than 2000. Got a vibe that Mike was not interested in my business either way. I was just wanting to get some quotes and weigh my options. At least try to be polite and don't start eating your lunch in the middle of talking with a customer. 2 stars because the gentleman I spoke with when I first showed up was polite to me.

Mike and his team were able to diagnose and repair a very complex transfer case leak. In addition to successfully isolating and repairing the leak, they changed my oil and replaced all of my front and rear brakes. Mike was honest and forthcoming about all the expenses and required services. I appreciate the integrity he showed and would highly recommend his shop.

This should be your first phone call! I have used Alternative for several years and have always been pleased with their service, skill and especially their honesty. They have replaced a battery and brakes for me but have also performed a yearly check to make sure I am driving a safe vehicle. Mike is a skilled diagnostician and brings years of experience to every car repair. I will return because I trust them and appreciate their service and welcoming environment.

** I HAVE A HARD TIME TRUSTING PEOPLE ** They put me at ease, plus I can see that the work done is at a higher level. Always friendly and informative. Explained the root of the problem from the diagnostics and then gave a ballpark cost (usually within +/- $50) and other area's that needs attention soon or can wait but will need to be addressed. Bonus they call you within a couple of days after dropping off your vehicle with their findings. Then after the vehicle is fix they call you a few months later to make sure you are satisfied. UNLIKE THE DEALERSHIPS NIGHTMARE SERVICE!!!!

I recently took my 2009 Nissan Rogue here. I would recommend Alternative Automotive to anyone who needs their car worked on, but especially to women. Mike is fair and makes sure you understand what needs done with your car and why. They will tell you what needs done right away and what can wait in case you are working with a budget. They don't charge unreasonable amounts for parts or their time. I would feel absolutely comfortable sending my daughter here to have her car worked on. As a woman, I felt heard, talked to (instead of at), and comfortable. If you need car repair, this is the place to have it done.

My wife and I are lucky we found Alternative Automotive after we had a poor experience with the Hyundai dealership here in Tulsa. Mike and Karen were able to verify our issue with a full diagnostic report (including pictures) and even fix it for a fraction of the dealership cost. Called for an estimate for an alternator and battery replacement (per AAA) for my car that isn't currently running and was told that they don't give out prices over the phone, so I would have to have my car towed there for their technicians to look at it and verify that it is the alternator and battery before they would tell me a price, and the soonest they could look at it would be next week. Completely unacceptable. You could have just told me how much you would charge to do the repairs I asked for and if I took my car there and was somehow wrong about it, you could have told me what it actually needed and we could have gone from there. Not being upfront about your pricing is shady and taking an entire week just to look at my car when it's not running at all means you're too busy for my business. No thanks.

Called up for prices but was told that the work was a couple of weeks out. I didn't mind but then I was told to call back next week.. How come just about every other shop can give me upfront pricing and you couldn't?

I was so impressed with how quickly they got me in and how quickly they got my car fixed and back to me. I was updated and services were explained to me before each issue was fixed. I felt the charges were very reasonable as well. Everyone there that I dealt with were very friendly and courteous. I will certainly use them for any other work I might need and highly recommend them to anyone who needs any type work on their vehicle.

I've been using Alternative Automotive for ten years. For routine maintenance, trouble shooting and repair. My 2006 Ford F-150 is looking at 225,000mi and it runs like new. Karen and Mike have become loyal trustworthy friends. The work has always been priced fairly and completed timely. Mike treats your vehicle like he's working on his own car or truck. Always updating his equipment to keep up with the tech, using the current software, and always telling you the truth about were your money is best spent. Five Stars in every category.

The back latch actuator on our 2018 KIA Sedona went bad. Thankfully Mike and his crew over at Alternative Automotive got me in and out within a couple of hours. The price was fair, the service was excellent, and I would definitely recommend them.
