Called this place to help me diagnose an issue I’m having with my truck and get my spark plugs replaced. A franchise mechanic place quoted me almost $1500 to replace the spark plugs. Alvarez Automotive did the same job, plus replacing the coils and cleaning out my intake. All for one third the price that the franchise was going to make me pay. He ran the codes right in front of me and showed me what each meant and which ones were causing the issue. He explained in detail what he was going to do to my truck and didn’t push any extra repairs that franchise mechanics usually do. He also explained future preventative maintenance I would need to do so I could get the full life out of my truck. I will 100% be using this mechanic while I’m stationed at Ft. Bliss. Alvarez Automotive is as honest as they come. P.S. This place will also do a full exterior, interior, and engine bay detail.

Juan and Pedro seem to have the knowledge and experience to do outstanding work. Very professional although pricy but well worth it. There attention to detail is remarkable, I highly recommend this shop!

After looking for someone to service the air conditioning system on my 2009 GMC Sierra , I found Juan at Alvarez Automotive. I'll be honest...I read all the reviews and took a chance. I called Juan...he said bring it down...and in less than 3 hours...he pinpointed the problem and repaired my truck's air conditioner. Price was Hella more reasonable than if I had gone to the dealer and Juan called me to tell me what it needed before the work was done. In less than 3 hours, I had my truck back and it was nice and cool. Definitely going back to Juan at Alvarez Automotive for any automotive repairs in the future.

Very bad experience, twice already!!! the “guaranteed” work doesn’t last and Juan charges again to fix something he didn’t fix the first time. They do work without asking for approval and surprise! They end up charging 4 times the initial estimate!!! Also, the payment terminal “is having issues” all the time! Good way to avoid tax! They made up work and material to increase the bill. Think more than twice before going there, better to go to a professional place. Expensive lesson learned. Update to your reply: Right on Mother’s Day. Happy mother’s day for your moms too thank you! Having an old vehicle doesn’t mean they do repairs without consent. As you said if you are not a home builder or plumber then do not do the job! A “fix” that will last less than one day and on top of that charge for it! Nothing was free or no extra cost I paid for your “fix” and then had to pay again for the same thing. Btw all of my reviews are diverse and honest reviews good and bad depending on the services.

Mr Juan Alberto Alvarez is an extremely honest individual! I’ve been coming to him for years. Even before his shop here. Everyone knows besides a good job what you’re looking for at a mechanics shop is also honesty! Thank you once again for taking care of my car so it can take care of me!

Great experience, thanks to Juan and his team, i got back my truck up and running. Had visited 2 mechanics who tried to work on it and refurbish a “bad engine” and both were just a waste of money and time (6 months in total). Not all mechanics do the best job or look out for the best for their customer. Juan was highly recommended and i decided to trust his ability and judgement on what to do to the truck. After moving forward, him and his team had it up and running in less than a week. We did stumble on some other stuff that was not working properly and indeed was an extra charge but it was caught in time before it damaged my vehicle again. Price is high to fix a vehicle, parts, knowledge and time aint cheap; but a guarantee job and very source full, juan and his team are. Im happy with my results. Its easy to communicate with juan while also having him check up on the work he has done after, to make sure you dont have any questions or doubts. Definitely will be bringing more of my business to him.

Mr. Juan Alvarez came highly recommended. I usually work on my own cars but hadn't had the time. I needed a reliable place I could trust. I took in my 1988 Jeep to get some mechanical issues fixed. Juan and his crew of mechanics did an awesome job in 2 days. Alvarez Automotive has a great crew of knowledgeable mechanics. Mr. Alvarez is very personable, honest, sincere, and has great prices. I will now take all my cars to him going forward.

Es un taller mecanico muy confiable, y aunque no se especializa en autos de marca Alemana como por ejemplo BMW , MERCEDES BENZ los reparan y el costo comparado con las agencias especializadas es menor $ . Aparte tienen otra ventaja cuentan con lo mas nuevo en diagnosticos que detectan los codigos por medio de scaners de ultima generacion que especifican muy detalladamente la falla de el vehiculo ! Asi que la proxima vez que requieran una reparacion automotriz , vayan a el taller Alvarez Automotive . Se los recomiendan todo el personal de la estacion radial La Z .
