Great service changing truck transmission. Alvie took the time to check out all avenues of repair before replacement but when needed, replaced transmission at a reasonable price and professional service. I will recommend him quickly to family and friends.

I’m writing a review based on my experience NOT getting any work done by Alvie because he is honest and verified I wasn’t dealing with a transmission issue. Instead of fabricating something that wasn’t wrong he sent me on my way with a mechanical diagnosis that was correct but not involving the transmission, without charging me for any of his valuable time. I know I’ll eventually have an actual transmission issue with my older truck, and I’ll definitely be bringing it to Alvie!

Alvie took time to speak to me on the phone and really helped me figure out what was going on. He helped me figure that another "mechanic" was not being honest about his work. I highly recommend Alvie as a mechanic.

My repair shop referred me to Alvies for transmission repair. It turns out my transmission is fine and he referred me back to my repair shop. There was no charge! A man who can definitely be trusted!!

I came to Alvie seeking help on a bad torque converter I had in my dodge ram 2500. We spoke on the phone for about 20 minutes and he did EVERYTHING in his power to find me the cheapest replacement before I brought the truck in. I was quoted 2500$-3500$ from other shops and he did this repair for me for 1200$. I can’t explain how friendly and helpful he was to me this is something you will just not find in auto shops today. 10/10 I wish I could give more stars!!

These guy's are awesome. Excellent customer service. Communicated with me about what all needs to happen. They seem to be very honest and there prices for the repairs they do are better than average. If need be, I have no problem being a repeat customer. I would recommend them

This is a rare kind of shop, Alvie's is honest and that alone is hard to come by in the auto industry. They're fair and they actually want what's best for the car owner. Alvie is a great mechanic, he’s honest and he’s extremely knowledgeable. I was stuck in Florida and he took care of everything I needed. Even offered a ride to the airport. My new trans is working great. If I lived closer I would take every vehicle I owned to him. Awesome service!

Alvie is not only one of the most honest and trustworthy mechanics I have met but he is just a genuine person all around. I was travelling back through Jacksonville to Virginia and he went out of his way to help me. He did exactly what he said, he communicated daily with me and he went above and beyond by servicing the lines and transfer case. He was a tremendous blessing.

Alvie was recommended to me by a retired local mechanic. His shop is almost 40 minutes away from my house but I didn’t mind the distance. He proved to be honest, knowledgeable, communicative, and fairly priced. He kept in contact with me about the repair, and it was important to him I was completely satisfied. His shop was neat and organized and he did not hide his work like many other repair shops. I would highly recommend him for any transmission work. So glad I found him.

I called for a consultation on a transmission issue with my vehicle. You don’t often have the benefit of dealing directly with the owner of a business, let alone having their attention on the phone for over 20 minutes, but Alvie was pleasant and responsive and clearly committed to helping me determine whether my vehicle was safe to drive and helped set up a plan to get the car serviced. If my initial phone inquiry is an indicator of the service, I’d give this business 10 stars for customer satisfaction.

I did not use this business, but I was drawn to the positive rating and feedback so I contacted the business about my Sentra. I was advised that they do not repair CVT transmissions but the educational moment was everything. I felt like family. He was very honest and educated me on everything I needed to take action on when dealing with the location that currently has possession of my car and where I need to go and what questions need to be asked. I greatly appreciated the information. He even advised to contact him back if I needed him and that he will be there. This type of service is so rare now days that I just had to leave a review.

I took my car to Alvie’s because it was missing. He had GREAT reviews on his website plus a friend recommended him. I figured I needed a new transmission. He drove my car and said he thought it was because the transmission fluid was sticky. He added two tubes of something, and fixed the problem. He is very well informed and suggested I drive the car for a month and get the transmission fluid changed. He recommended someone to do this for me. The point here is, he could have made a lot of money off of me because I thought I needed a new transmission. When I picked up my car I tried to pay him and he would not take any money. Alvie Is knowledgeable, honest, and truly cares about his customers. He has so much integrity and is a great human being. Shelley
