On Saturday, Sep. 28, my 2008 Toyota RAV4 and I became stranded at the Stonestown Target parking lot at 8am. My car wouldn't start. I called State Farm Emergency Road Service, and he came out to give me a jump start. I got the car started myself, and he tested the voltage on the battery/alternator and they seemed to be fine, but it kept stalling. He suggested I call a mobile mechanic. I called Igor, and at 9:35a, he texted me he would be there in 25 mins. He arrived after 10am (driving a sportscar with a woman in the passenger seat). He looked at the situation and told me it was probably the battery, and that he would go get me a new one. At 10:47, he texted me: "Good quality battery is available. $147. Labor 45". I texted ok. While he was gone, I kept the car running so I could charge my phone. He didn't come back until after 12:30. He arrived in his mobile mechanic truck, a white Mercedes Van with flashers (same woman riding shotgun). He took out my old Interstate battery and put it in his truck. Then he installed a Super Start, and my car wouldn't start at all. He said "they gave him the wrong one". He made a phone call. He told me he was sorry and that he could get another one and "meet me at my other location" to install it. What other location was I going to be able to get to with a car that stalls? I said no. I asked him if he could go over to O'Reillys and get another battery for me. He said those were poor quality; I wondered where he had gotten his. Then he took the SuperStart out, he got my Interstate out of his truck and reinstalled it. He stayed long enough to insure I could get it started. Then he got in his fancy Merc mobile mechanic van and drove away. At 12:55p, I was, once again, stranded in the Target lot, being no further along.. I called O'Reilly, and they had several SuperStarts available if I could just get over there (note: same brand). Mike, the O'Reilly guy, said it probably wasn't the battery, so he recommended Sunset 76, and I got friends to come meet me and follow me there. Monday: still waiting to hear what's wrong, but Igor was no help at all and just wasted five of my hours.

If you're in SF looking for a mechanic, this is your guy. I called Igor about my car not starting and within ONE HOUR he was already on his way to my location. When he arrived, he diagnosed the issue within a few minutes and within the next hour had pulled supplies out of his van, began working on my car, fixed the issue, and got it back on the road. (All for less than $200.) He is very knowledgeable and very straightforward, you won't regret it.

We're so happy we found Auto Specialist! Igor offers incredibly convenient house-call car repair, but that's not all. He's friendly, punctual, efficient, and explains everything clearly. Plus, his prices are fair and competitive. Igor is honest and transparent about costs. Recently, Igor diagnosed and replaced a faulty starter on my car when it wouldn't start (I thought it was the battery!).  We loved his service so much that we had him replace the battery on another dead car in our garage a few days later. What a lifesaver! We would definitely recommend Igor and Auto Specialist to friends and family for their top-notch auto repair services. We'll definitely be calling them again in the future for our car repair needs. Thank you!

Igor was very helpful and kind. We had a problem with our car on a roundtrip and we were looking for quick servis. He answered quickly and fixed our car in less then 24h. He was an angel on our trip so we really recommend!!

Igor is the best professional auto specialist I know - experienced, punctual, reliable, and a great person to deal with. AutoSpecialist SF sent a very experienced and polite automechanic to my house on a van, fully equipped with all the necessary tools and equipment. A real Pro fixed my car in my garage! What can be better than this? I love the idea of MOBILE AUTOMECHANIC service! It saved me the hassle of driving to a shop to drop the car, and arranging means of transportation to get home and then back to the shop to pick it up. After Igor replaced brakes on one of my cars, he quickly checked my other two family cars and fixed a few minor issues before they became a problem.
