Gary at Autohaus did a fantastic job replacing my front shocks, rear struts, sway bars, and transmission pan gasket with fresh transmission fluid in my 2012 Rav4. He’s honest, personable, and even finished ahead of schedule. I’ll continue bringing my car to his garage and recommending Autohaus to my friends!

The staff is very friendly and professional. I asked for a diagnosis on my car's head lightbulb. They did it a good and fast job on replacing it. And the pricing is very reasonable.

Beware: I took my car in because lights were on and I needed it to be looked at and everything fixed. We told them fix everything. They had my car for almost 3 weeks and when I got it back the lights were still on! I paid $5000 for these “repairs” to just have to take it back 3 more times. The 2nd time they said they got everything fixed just for the lights to come back on a week later. I took my car to another shop just for them to tell me auto haus used cheap parts and it was already malfunctioning. This last time I brought it in they said bring it at 8 am we will get you in and out it will be very fast. Bring in the car, let them know I had another appointment for my tires and needed work to be done by 12 pm at least. They said they had no estimate (even though they seemed to have one a few days prior). I waited for 2 hours, no word. We asked when it was supposed to be done and they said 1 pm. Heck no! We were told the exact opposite not that it would take 5 hours. I went back up to say I had already told them I needed to be out by 12 pm and at this point it was getting to be too much. All of sudden they could get my car done in 30 minutes. This place is a scam! Not to mention the invoice for my original visit only showed $3000 of work, where did the other $2000 go I don’t know and neither do they!!! Absolutely ridiculous, please save your money and go somewhere else.

I had an alternator that was on its way out, and John, Xavier, and the team at Autohaus were outstanding - they got me scheduled for the next morning, had the job done same-day, and in the process fixed both lower control arms after finding cracks in the bushings during inspection. The job wasn't cheap, but it wouldn't be cheap anywhere, and these guys knocked it out professionally and were a pleasure to work with. Highly recommended - a solid mechanic is tough to find and these guys are legit.

I went to Autohaus to get a small piece of my roof fixed that was exposing my car to the elements. Javier helped me as soon as I walked in, and after leaving it with him to inspect, was quick to call to provide options for the repair. When I went to pickup my car a few days later, Anthony and John helped me -- including generously not charging me for cleaning the tracks inside my roof. Javier, Anthony, and John were incredibly responsive, communicative, and kind, and made me feel like my car was in trusted hands -- both at Autohaus and when they sent it to Autohaus West. The next time I have car trouble, I'll absolutely be back. Thanks, Autohaus!

In short, this is a best-in-class, top tier establishment. Being a bit of a gearhead and car nut myself, I am notably particular and picky when it comes to picking a shop to have any work done on my vehicles. I’ve lived throughout the suburbs and city of Chicago, throughout the state of Wisconsin, and I’ve been left disappointed by shops more often than not (even when paying the pricey premiums for the “quality” establishments.) This place is the exception to the rule I’ve been searching for & I will be taking my family’s entire fleet of vehicles exclusively to this shop so long as I’m within a few hours drive. All members of staff and owner were exceptionally friendly, accommodating, and most importantly, transparent/informative when discussing all elements of my vehicle’s servicing. Everyone was a pleasure to deal with. When discussing services, as opposed to being told something has to be done or has already been done without discussing, I was given a variety of options & scenarios & respective pricing as well as a sensible and informative “here’s what I would recommend and why, but you have options”-type. Unlike many shops, the people I spoke with were familiar with my vehicle and the services being performed vs. reading a script off a service sheet. The work itself performed far exceeded my expectations, especially given pricing. It’s exceptionally rare to get the trifecta of quality, timely, and reasonably-priced vehicle services performed, which is why I’ve taken the time to write this notably long-winded review.

The owner is honest . I was being taken advantage by another shop and helped me out .This is very rare to find in a shop owner. The staff is also very sweet . Definitely would recommend this shop and will be back for more services !

First-time customer starting setting up an appointment and asking for a quote I want to say John was remarkable very informative and very friendly his professionalism to the atmosphere of the client he deserves an A+. From the time I drove up I was greeted by Xavier also with the utmost professionalism,very kind,took his time explaining the thing that my auto needed and answered very professionally my questions Xavier deserves in A++. Overall the shop was very clean and organized I would highly recommend this place for future reference I would take my auto to your shop for service, prices are very reasonable. Let's not forget to give kudos to the mechanics back there for doing a good job.

I have had a heck of a month with car issues, but the great folks here were amazing! I needed to fix an emissions issue *fast* (my car was being repaired for the entire last month at a different shop, so I was unable to test my emissions early) and even though I didn't have an appointment, John and Xavier helped me as a walk-in. I drive a Fiat 500, so sometimes shops end up being expensive or long, but they worked very hard to get me in and out, same day, and to keep the price manageable. They fixed my emissions, and a brake and sensor issue too, all for ~$500. Highly recommend, and they'll be doing any needed repairs as long as I'm in Chicago! Everyone I spoke with was kind, friendly, and helpful- thanks for getting me back on the road ASAP!

Gary and everyone at Autohaus are great to work with. I’ve been coming here for a few years now and they’re always friendly and efficient. A few months ago we hit an especially bad Chicago pothole, doing some extensive damage to our car. I took the car to a chain place, who quoted us nearly the cost of the car to fix. Autohaus was able to do it for much less and already had the parts they needed in stock so finished the job much faster. Highly recommend!

I came here to do suspension work on my 2014 Audi Q5 in late September 2023. I saw the reviews on Yelp and thought, maybe this place could handle the job. After a decade of only taking my car to Audi, I thought I had found a trusted alternative. I called the shop and it was answered by a gentleman who said I could bring the car in and they could take a look. This place said that only one of the repairs Audi said needed to be done was urgent but I could wait on the other repair. The gentleman was very nice over the phone and sounded very trustworthy. When I asked if they could do the repairs, they said absolutely, they would just need some time to get the Audi parts. They charged me $4,500 for an axle, bushings and lower control arms. I could have paid that at Audi - but I assumed they were competent and took them at their word - and using Audi parts as they stated. That was my mistake. About a week later as I'm driving to my sister's wedding, I hear what sounds like a flat tire. I pull over and I realize that there's this large plastic flap that had fallen - and I can't pull it off. I had no idea what this thing was, but I knew I needed to keep going. It eventually comes completely off. I call them the next day and ask if I can bring the car in - because my car was just in a week ago and this large plastic thing flew off of my car. They tell me that I'd have to leave the car and that they have too many cars right now. Frustrating response - but I digress. 2.5 months later, I make a 3 point turn and I hear a large crank from the same area they supposedly just repaired. Even at that point I thought to myself - oh it must be the cold - it can't possibly be the same area I just had fixed 2 months ago. Later in January I hear the noise again and a third time while parking in February and I say to myself - I should probably get this checked out. I went on chat gpt and asked what the noise could be and low and behold, control arms and bushings came up. I gave New Autohaus a call again about my repairs and got the same response as last time. I could leave the car but that they were busy. I then decide to just take it into Audi to make sure nothing is wrong and to my surprise, I was horrified by what they showed me. It was clear that I had after-market parts installed, re-used bolts that weren't supposed to be re-used, after market hardware in other areas that wasn't the right size, holes that were made bigger so the wrong screw could fit and screws inserted the wrong way. Some of the bolts were over torqued (never knew this word before), damaging my steering knuckle, cracking it - costing me another $2,800 to repair. The axle that they replaced was actually loose - the bolt was barely still on. To say I was mortified would be an understatement. Thank God I don't drive that much, because the mechanic at Audi told me that with the work they had done, if I had hit a big bump, my tire could have just fallen off. I have no idea what would have happened if the bolt holding my control arms fell off. When they showed me loose screws where my belly pan should have been - I became instantly enraged. All this time I had given them the benefit of the doubt and it hadn't even been screwed back in properly. The screws were literally just flapping around. If they didn't have the parts or the know how to repair the suspension on an Audi - they could have just said that. They didn't though and they charged me top dollar for work that I ultimately had to do again, plus purchase new parts for ones that they damaged. It's obvious I won't be back - and I have certainly learned my lesson. Any serious car matters on foreign vehicles - I'm taking it back to the dealer. Just as an FYI - you might want to check out their better business rating. Now I know to cross check there too.

I moved from Ohio to Illinois where my car did not have a mount for the front license plate. They were able to get the mount on the bumper quick and efficiently. (Ensuring I didn’t receive tickets LOL) More importantly their customer service and staff were phenomenal. The girl working the desk was kind and friendly making the experience even better. 10/10 recommend going here for your services and will personally be going back!

Brought my car in for a suspected fuel pump issue, before he even popped the hood or asked any questions, declares that it’s an electrical problem. I decided to take my car to the dealership and they did their own diagnostic and determined it was the fuel pump. Not only was the mechanic wrong, he was incredibly rude and dismissive. There are several other repair shops in the area, I would consider going to any other shop before this one.
