I was recommended this shop through AAA after my tire tore apart on the 41. They were very informative and gave an estimate BEFORE they did any work to the car. I think more auto shops should follow this procedure. They did a marvelous putting the tires on our mini cooper! Sherry drives like a dream now!

This was my first experience with Avondale Auto Repair Chicago and it was great! Avondale has reasonable prices, very professional, and communicates well with the customer. Sammie was awesome! The reception area is clean, inviting, and has a comfortable waiting area. The website is very informative and helpful. It will be my place for all my auto repairs. I will definitely refer Avondale to family and friends.

We’ve been coming here for my wife’s Jetta for awhile, from brakes, shocks to stolen cat converter, they took care of us. Even tho we moved out of the city now, it’s still very much worth the drive to come in.

Don't waste your time here, went in there a few months ago asking if they could fix my trunk for some reason it wouldn't open, the owner came out & said that he didn't have the equipment to repair it because something about the car dealer only can fix it with its computer excetera, anyway I left drove a blocks on Pulaski to casas caidas & they fix it the same day!! I don't know why the owner of this place tough something else about car & was giving me really bad vibes wouldn't not recommend this shallow place

Great place! Free general inspections and amazing mechanics. They'll prove every repair with pictures and visual shows and tell. With the ability to choose which repairs you want and listed on a list of severity. They made a minor mistake on my original estimate that would've made it cost slightly more, to make up for the mistake they applied a 20% discount to the whole job. GREAT GUYS 👍

I took my car for issues and they were great on showing me pictures of the problem turned out my former mechanic damaged my car which caused the problem I was having. They hac my car running better than ever this will be my only place I will take my car for service..

Phenomenal service, more than capable technicians, they won’t force any other fixes on you, they tell you what can wait and what’s urgent. They fixed a complicated issue with our breaks. This place is far superior compared to a Midas or other large chain.

Fast and friendly. I've gone to these guys for things before and they've been reliable and reasonably priced, but today they really floored me. Brought in a tire to be patched and not only was it done in five minutes flat but they didn't charge me a dime. They really know how to keep a customer coming back!

Got an oil change here to see if I could use this shop in the future.. being new to the area. Opened up my hood a couple days later and the cover for my V8 is missing. Won’t return. They can’t even put parts back.

I coordinated to have a pre-purchase inspection completed for a car I was buying out of state. The dealer brought the car to the shop where it was inspected and I paid $128.40 around April 7, 2021. The inspection I received was a pdf containing a list of checks and just a check mark symbol next to each one without any detailed information about the inspection item. Each item checked just had a green check mark next to it but no elaboration on details. The inspection suggested that nothing was wrong with the car. I was a little concerned with the vagueness of the report so I called the shop and spoke to someone about the condition of the car. The most I could get out of them was that "the tires might need to be replaced within the next 6 months". I ultimately decided to purchase this car. When the car was delivered, I soon discovered a lot of issues that should have been obvious if the inspection really happened. The car was delivered to me in CA around a week after the inspection. The car was delivered with 2 nails in the front tire. The right side of the car was visibly 2 inches lower than the left due to suspension problems, tires were worn unevenly, cracked, dated 2016, and rear tires only 1/32in above legal tread depth, the rear lower control arms were bent and rubbed together and against the rear sway bar when driving causing an audible noise, broken headlight level sensor on delivery caused by bent rear lower control arm hitting it, oil leaks present at the oil filter housing gasket and oil pan gasket that leaked 7 quarts of oil in fewer than 4k miles of driving, power steering rack leaking power steering fluid into the tie rod boots, battery outputting a low voltage triggering dash lights, worn brake pads with less than 30% life left, airbag light was intermittently on after delivery, parking brake didn't engage properly causing the car to roll when parked on a hill, coolant was low, disa valve was unplugged on delivery, faulty oil level sensor on delivery (no way to really catch this one ahead of time), audible noises from drive belt tensioners and pulleys on delivery, cracked drive belt and ac belt on delivery, and oil leaking through exhaust side camshaft position sensor to its electrical connector. I suspect the dealer bribed for a false inspection. Knowing very little about cars at the time, many of these issues were still very obvious on delivery day. I wish I knew about these issues before purchasing the car because it would have allowed me to negotiate price with the dealer. I feel I ended up way overpaying for the car in the condition I received it and I directly blame the shop that conducted the "inspection". I have serious doubts about this shop's priority of customer safety to pass a car with such safety issues on an inspection I purchased. Nails in a tire, blown suspension, bent/broken control arms, and faulty airbag systems are things that kill people. None of these issues were noted in the report and none of these issues were disclosed when I called to question the inspection report. I wouldn't advise anyone to trust this shop.

I'd give Avondale 10 star if I could. My car broke down on the highway, AAA towed it to Avondale (I chose where to take it) and I spoke with Sammy and Nathan. Both of these Gents helped me out a ton. I spoke with Nathan several times over the phone, he picked up right away and answered all of my questions without hesitation (ty Nathan). Also thank you Sammy for all of the work you did with me on the phone, waiting for extended warranty people to pick up the phone and whatnot. Avondale didn't stop until they figured out the problem and got me going in the right direction. My son took his care here in august, and Dimetri drove it to the place for his emissions test, I took my car there for the first time today, I needed a rear brake light replaced, and Sammy did the job on the spot and told me, “no charge, it was a small job”. Customer service is better than ANYTHING I’ve seen in recent years, everyone should take their car here👍👍👍!

I brought my car in here for service recently. I was able to call ahead and schedule a time for a couple days later. The wait was a little longer than I thought it would be, but the staff was super friendly, knowledgeable, and the work done was great. I plan on coming back again for any maintenance I need.

Customer service has been excellent. They are very transparent about what you need and don't need done. The person I spoke to was very patient answering all my dumb questions.. Will update when the job is done but so far I am confident that my car is in good hands. Update: About to be my third visit to this shop with my lemon car.. :^) I am so glad I found this place. I feel really confident about going here because they warranty their work and give you updates as they go. No more getting ghosted after droppping my car off.
