If I could give them 100 stars, I would. Though I usually only use Avondale Independent, I recently took my Honda to Curry Honda for a warranty repair. My car started making a noise & Tyler generously offered to take a quick peek even though he was slammed with work. He found a bolt had not been replaced by Curry. This error could have caused a terrible accident & I am so grateful for their help. I will never stray again! Thank you Tyler!! Edited to add, they saved me again!!! My battery died when I was driving near their shop. They came and jumped my battery & wouldn’t even let me pay them. Amazing!!! Thank you!

I have been going to Avondale Independent for 7 years. Always have excellent service, and only takes care of what needs to be taken care of. I now live in Florida, but come up here for family and friends. Have my oil changed tires rotated. If I have something going on in Florida which I haven't, one time oil change Tyler said do not let them tell you anything that needs to be done, I take care of your car. And I drive a Honda so what could go wrong. And shout out to Tyler's team players also. They are just as fantastic and why wouldn't they be. Thanks guys

As a female, I absolutely dread when my car needs work, because it inevitably comes with 1) overinflating the situation and costs of repair; 2) making me feel like it I don't repair everything listed in addition to my initial concern, my car will implode as soon as I drive off the lot; and 3) mansplaining and patronizing - even when I know exactly what the issue is and don't need the "feedback" or "explanation." Y'all, this is the place to go to avoid all of the above. I had a check engine light come up on my Honda right before a big trip. This amazing team listened to my situation, offered to look at my car on the same day that I called, and provided a truthful, affordable, and rapid solution. In addition to fixing my car, they also went above and beyond to check to ensure my car was road trip ready. It's a family-owned small business with a genuinely amazing team of car caretakers. I will always check here first when my car needs a doctor!

Had a great experience here. I was calling around to compare a quote that I got from a different shop, and Tyler and Donovan told me that I was overpaying by $600. That day, they were able to have me come by to look at my car to verify what I needed to get done and quickly scheduled me for the next week. Donovan even refilled my radiator tank after he saw it was low. The next week, I got my car repaired within a few hours and the front desk folks were super nice and helpful promising to give me a call by the end of the day since I was leaving for a trip. I will definitely be coming back here.

Avondale Independent was highly recommended to me by a friend after I noticed some strange noises during my commute. Because I also requested an oil change and tire rotation, they didn't charge a diagnostic fee (they do a routine check during this service), which was a huge relief. They ended up needing to replace my brake pads and I feel that I paid a reasonable price for everything, especially compared to the KIA dealership I almost took my car to. The employees were very helpful and communicative. I highly recommend paying in cash as there is a fee for using a card. There is a gas station close by with an ATM. Calling ahead for an appointment is a must.

Bad experience - Went in for an oil change. I was told that I needed a Cabin and Air Filter for $73 ( apparently this was coming from Honda dealer so I had to wait ) Labor was additional $145.00 ( now I'm feeling very ripped off). When another mechanic showed me the flimsy cabin/air filter recently it was not a Honda one but very cheap one. I was so ticked off then they charge me 3.5% credit card fee without telling me I could have written a check ( yes I should have seen that on the receipt but I was really ticked off by then). DOS June 2022. Bad all the way around.

Had the head gasket replaced on my 1997 accord here 3 years ago. Car still running great has over 278,000 miles now. Every other shop I tried to get a quote from told me I needed a new motor. Avondale independent told me they could replace the head gasket and it would be fine. It’s been over 60,000 miles since they did this repair and my car shows no signs of stopping. Highly recommend 👍👍👍

I have used Avondale Independent for close to 20 years. They have always been quick to service and/or repair my car and I trust them 100%. I have never felt like they were padding the bill and oftentimes they will fix small things for free. They genuinely seem to care about their customers and I still go back to them even though I've moved from the neighborhood. I would definitely give them 5 stars!

I recently took my Honda Accord in for a transmission oil change and I spoke with Donovan & Tyler who were incredibly helpful. They were both very informative, listened to my concerns and were seemingly honest about the needs & expectations. They found room in their schedule to squeeze me in on Thanksgiving week so that I wouldn't be without my car - I greatly appreciate that. I look forward to bringing my car there for future service needs.

I took my Honda Accord to Avondale Independent on numerous occasions and couldn't be happier. I got a notice from the Honda dealer that the airbag needed to be replaced. After waiting about 30 minutes, one of the Honda managers came back and said there were numerous things that had to be done in addition to the airbag replacement. I told them to just replace the air bag. The next day, I took the list the dealer game me and asked Avondale Indep to take a look to see if any of the "repairs" suggested had already been done. ALL OF THEM HAD. So...needless to say, I tell anyone with a Honda to go straight to Avondale Independent. Honest, hardworking, fair, and just a great auto shop.

I've been a customer for about 25 years because I've always gotten good, honest and trustworthy service . I've had everything done to maintain my cars here as well as major repairs and I'm always satisfied by the results and how they deliver when promised, usually the same or next day. It's just great to have a service in your life that is always dependable and one you can completely trust. Also I always buy Honda's because I can go to Avondale Honda when I have a problem and need service. and the idea of going somewhere else with a different kind of car is just not feasible, even if I may like to try a different kind of car. They are that important to me.

The only reason they get one star is because I can't go lower. I took my Civic there because it was getting a code 1361 and it was going into limp mode. I mentioned this them on the phone prior to taking my car there. When I arrived I mentioned it again. About a week later, after a couple of calls from me, I was told that I needed a head gasket. I put aside the red flag that was going off and agreed. $2500.00 later I picked up the car and did not drive 20 miles before the code 1361 came back on and the car went into limp mode AGAIN. When I called they said that they did not address the code 1361 because the head needed to be done first and to bring the car back and they would check it. Fat chance that this is going to happen. This was not disclosed to me beforehand. It is hard to convince me that the code could not be addressed first. I feel like my concerns were not addressed. When I mentioned this I was brushed aside like I did not know what I was talking about. One thing for sure, I am not a certified mechanic but I KNOW MY CAR. Needless to say, I will not be taking my car back there. Hard and expensive lesson to learn. Trust your gut.

This place is TRASH!!!! My husband brought my car to them for an oil change, not only did they tell my husband that a tire rotation came with the services, but they did not perform the tire rotation. Instead upon pick-up they told him a quote from Honda recommendations. Which for those that don’t know is every 10,000 miles or less. They did not ask when the last rotation was performed and made my husband believe that everything was going to be alright. Fast forward a few days my. TPMS is on. I called to ask what was the problem. Not only did TYLER the “manager” (highly unlikely that he was the manager because he had the testicles to call me rude and absurd), I asked him what type of oil he put in my car because it was supposed to be fully synthetic, he didn’t have a clear answer for me other than referring me to the receipt that had no information whatsoever. Every single time in my 32 years of life on this earth and having owned over 10 vehicles and taken very good care of all of them, never received a car back without them having written on the sticker that they place on the window, exactly what services, type of oil, and when it is due next. The sticker on my vehicle has a suggested mileage to get another oil change, it even has little idiot proof boxes where they can check to let you know which kind of oil they used, but they couldn’t tell me. So now I have no idea what kind of oil is in my car, it’s still needs a tire rotation, and furthermore could possibly need new rotors, but i wouldn’t know because they didn’t do their jobs. I swear, it is so hard to find someone that can just perform a simple task…. Go back to highschool auto tech boys, Avondale needs MEN. Side note, i used them 3 years ago for a simple bumper replacement, they charged me over $3200…i was an idiot back then, had i known my husband was going to this place I would have offered him a large bottle of antibiotics to pass around over there, they look like they could use it, and a tooth brush!

We brought our Honda in for an ignition switch issue and they did the diagnosis, called us with a price, got the part, and fixed the issue a few hours later, all in time for us to have the car back same day. They also got us new tires at the same time and installed them, which we had been putting off, and gave us useful suggestions for future maintenance. All in all, it was one of the best experiences I've had in a long time at a mechanic, and we will be going back as regular customers.

I took my Honda Civic 2003 to Avondale Independent in Decatur. I had obtained a detailed estimate with a thorough diagnostic from a honda dealer which around 4k. I showed it to the folks at ai, and after an equally thorough diagnostic test, the quoted about half the dealership estimate. The story doesn’t end here. They did a superb job, renovating the car to a condition much closer to the one just after a couple of years after the purchase. This is a professional family owned business that has been doing great work over and over again. The calibre of their hardware and software set up is as good as, if not better that what the dealers have. They have all the necessary tools to enable them have complete access to all automotive issues. They work with confidence, respect for their trade and their customers. I strongly recommend honda owners select Avondale Independent for their post-warranty maintenance and service. They will be doing themselves a great favor
