No surprise, they'll try and up sell you when you don't need to. We came in today with a nail in one tire and asked what are options were and they pushed for us to spend $400 to replace our two front tires. We called our long time mechanic and instead he quickly removed the nail, patched it and had us on our way for $50. Ask around before dropping money on these folks.

Don't ever go to this location if you are female. These guys are consistently rude to my girlfriend whenever she brings in our car. My name and number is secondary, yet since it's a man's name, they always call me first to let us know the car is ready. Whenever they speak to me, they're incredibly polite when I'm not even aware the car is in the shop. Unfortunately for my partner, they constantly deny her thoughts. She can describe what she experience and they will gaslight her and tell her what she personally experienced is wrong. They will belittle her, tell her she doesn't know what she's talking about. Doesn't matter if a customer is wrong, if they ask you about something they're concerned about, how it is ever ok to tell them they don't know what they're talking about, and flat out refuse to do it. Everytime they tell her "it sounds like it's just this so we're just going to do this" Apparently they had enough of her today, because normally we get a call and are instructed to come in anytime in the same day to pick it up. Today she called back to verify the work done, and apparently this pisses the workers off so much, they threatened her saying that if she doesn't come in the next 30 minutes, they will leave the car out on the street for people to break into. If you need your car fix and have to go in here, make sure the man of the household does it, otherwise you're in for one incel of an experience. update: After leaving this review, the following morning, manager is blowing up my phone, and screaming what do I want to complain about after a simple hello. Is this really how you handle complaints? Aggressively harassing your customers?

Hate to leave a bad review for a local business but these guys refused to honor their warranty and repeatedly gave us incorrect information about claiming a Continental manufacturer's warranty on our tires. After 4 tries to get them to uphold either their Big O warranty or the manufacturer's, we called the manufacturer who sent us down to America's Tire down in Millbrae and we had no problem at all claiming the warranty and getting our tires replaced. Way better experience, beginning to end. Hard to know if this Big O location is intentionally dishonest or just don't know what they're doing, but given some of the other negative reviews on here I think it might be the former. Go anywhere else! Edit: I see that BigO corporate support chimed in here to say they'd "like to help." We called them twice and opened a ticket before we posted this review. They claimed the ticket was "resolved" and never called us back, and nothing was resolved. Their corporate office is just as bad, and just as unaccountable. Don't believe their attempt to engage now, they're only trying to look like they care -- all BigO shops are independent franchises according to them. They had our info and never resolved my issue when they could. Any other tire shop would be better than these guys, we're telling everyone we know to not use any BigO given this experience.

It took me an hour after getting the text that my car was ready to make it in to the shop and pick it up. The two employees yelled at me and told me they would never take my car in again because I left it there too long (one extra hour?) it was honestly kind of scary and highly unprofessional

I was directed here by my Big O tires store on Geary, due to my problem being with my air conditioning. I was so worried about what would happen because I had tried a local shop prior to this and it felt like a complete scam, so I waited and I'm glad I did. Very pleased with them and highly recommend anyone looking for service or tires.

Great people, great service I had a flat on the freeway drove over there very slowly to the nearest tire shop. Went there, got my special tire but I took all day for one tire. But it was worth it. But they are great

Woke up in a city I don’t live in and has very little parking. While driving someone flagged me down and brought to my attention that I had a flat… couldn’t find a gas station that even had air…called these guys and they had me come in were very prompt, helpful and it didn’t take very long at all. I cannot recommend this plus enough. Best customer service experience I’ve had anywhere in a long time. Came in with a flat tire on a hertz rental. Hertz was not approving my voucher in a timely manner but big o tires changed my tire even without the voucher being approved so I could go on my way. Amazing experience thank you guys.

Super convenient and straight-forward website for seeing what services are offered and making an appointment. I purchased new tires and made an appointment a couple days later to get them put on my car as well as get an alignment, oil change, and brake check. The pricing on the website is not all-inclusive, but I received two calls from the location before my appointment was formally made making sure I was aware of what the full price would be - I really appreciate this transparency and over-communication. Would definitely recommend this location.

Easy experience. I needed two original continental tires for my Tesla and they were able to get it for me in one day with installation. It came out to $130 cheaper than going to the Tesla dealership. Alignment was also $50 cheaper.

I never write reviews but I would avoid this place at all costs. Customer service was horrible and they damaged my car. I took my car in a few months ago for a low/flat tire. They looked at it, told me it’d be an easy patch and to come pick it up in a few hours. About an hour later I got a call saying the tire couldn’t be patched and they’d have to replace it… oh well, it happens. So I bought two new tires (existing tires were fairly new so no point in replacing all of them) and they said it’d be a few hours. Get a call soon enough and go to pick up. Looks fine, I pay and get my keys back then go out to my car to turn it on… and my tire pressure sensor faults and alerts me to low tire pressure. Weird… I figure they must’ve forgotten to recalibrate a sensor or something. Get out and notice one of my other tires is pretty low. At this point I go back inside and try to flag down the guy who was helping me to explain the situation. He informs me he’s on break and nothing he can do. No worries, So I walk to the back and politely ask somebody if they can help me. The person tells me he didn’t work on my car and to find the person who did. I explain the situation and they say they can’t help. So I wait inside and eventually flag down somebody else who begrudgingly tries to help. They examine my car and tell me “all 4 of my Tire Pressure Sensors have simultaneously died during the repair” and it’d be ~$800 to replace. Also one of my other tires must have a hole in it they missed and all 4 tires have different amounts of air in them so they need to take it back. At this point I don’t have much of a choice as I need my car back, so they end up rotating the damaged tire off and putting on my old tire that I gave them when I bought the two new ones… But rudely refuse to do anything about the TP sensors they damaged and and want an additional $500-$800. When I say they were working fine when I dropped the car off so they must’ve accidentally damaged them, they just double down that it’s my fault and it’d be $500-800 to repair. (Even though they’d never given me a warning before). Now it’s been a few months and I’ve had 3 low tires due to a slow leak and have had to deal with my check engine light being constantly on due to tire pressure sensor faults till I can come up with the money to repair. 0/5 stars. Can’t wait to spend more money somewhere else to fix the damage Big O Tires caused.

(12/23) 4th visit. Steve told me the bad news that my tire had a nail and it was not repairable AND it was out of production. Then he spent 15 mins with me locating the tire at another store in the bay area. Very professional and very helpful, as they have been each time I go there. 2021 Third time, still a charm. Francisco helped me understand the difference between the tires they had for my car and i feel like i choose the best for my budget and driving habits. Great service, great prices, yet again. Today was my second visit to Big O Tires on S. Van Ness. Second time i came in with a nail in my tire (from the streets of San Francisco). These guys are professional and quick! I feel like it's an ER room for cars. Prices are very very fair and the guys are totally professional and friendly. I wish they could fix my house, too!

Had a great experience getting new tires and a wheel alignment. Lawrence answered all my questions and gave me regular updates on when the work would be completed. Really appreciate the lifetime flat repairs and tire rotations that come with purchase.

I always feel like I'm overpaying with these guys. Sometimes I even suspect they make things up. Like I hit a curb on my left side, but they said I had a bubble on my right side tire as well.

I have been a loyal customer here at the Van Ness location for several years. I really like Francisco and his wonderful mechanics and Office service. They are always on top of their game, and everyone is highly "auto knowledgeable", very polite and professional. Thanks Francisco, for giving me an amazing price on all the services my car needed! I will definitely come back for all my car needs!
