Their services cost higher than mostly all local competitors. They will give attempt to give you 5 star service while they rob you. I’ve had both of my vehicles service there out of convenience. Services where sold to me even though they were not required and previously stated to the store manager Lori Sowell that I would not require lifetime brakes as I would be relocating and Brake Masters locations are not in business there.

Untrustworthy Repair Recommendations Right to the point: Brake Masters tried to upsell unnecessary repairs during my visit. I came in for a simple oil change, which seems to have been done decently, but during their courtesy inspection, they claimed I needed extensive and costly repairs that just don’t add up. First, they told me my rack and pinion rubber boot was torn, which is true, but instead of recommending a simple boot replacement, they insisted I needed to replace the entire rack and pinion assembly for $1,900 and perform a $120 power steering flush. Minh L. and Lori S., the mechanics who conducted the inspection and provided the recommendations, explained to me—twice—that a torn rubber boot would cause all my power steering fluid to leak out, burn up the system, and result in a complete loss of steering. This explanation is simply inaccurate. The purpose of the rubber boot is to protect the rack and inner tie rods from dirt and debris and to hold grease for lubrication. It has nothing to do with containing hydraulic power steering fluid, which is housed in a completely sealed system. A torn boot does not cause fluid to leak or damage the system unless the internal seals are already compromised, which mine clearly are not. Additionally, they told me I needed to replace my control arms because the bushings showed “signs of age,” citing minor peeling and surface cracking. Anyone familiar with cars knows that bushings naturally age over time, and slight peeling or minor cracking is normal and does not affect performance. Control arm bushings only need replacement if there is deep or severe cracking, chunks of rubber missing, metal-on-metal contact, looseness in the steering, or if you experience steering play or instability while driving. Recommending a full control arm replacement solely because of natural aging is excessive and unwarranted, as nearly all cars with some mileage will show similar wear. While I appreciate the courtesy inspection and their findings, this experience left me feeling like they were trying to sell unnecessary and expensive repairs through questionable explanations. Minh L. and Lori S. may have been the mechanics behind the recommendations, but this reflects on the shop as a whole. I would encourage anyone visiting Brake Masters to get a second opinion and verify any major repair recommendations. I won’t be returning for future service. Follow up: Power steering fluid is specifically formulated to be compatible with the materials used in hydraulic systems, including rubber seals, hoses, and components such as rack and pinion boots. Under normal circumstances, power steering fluid will not "melt" or degrade a rubber boot. If it had such an effect, it would also damage other rubber components in the steering system, like seals and hoses—but this does not occur.

Went in for rattling noise in engine when accelerating. They explained that I needed a new transmission. Later that night I open my hood and found my battery cover not even attached, loose bolt on my auxiliary battery and wires as well. Took it next day to other shop and said it was a missing screw and fix the problem and put everything back to normal. Disappointed and waste of time and money. I also took a video if the manager want to see video.

I will definitely be returning here for all future car maintenance! My first time at brake masters and I had a very wonderful experience. I needed my rotors resurfaced and they were very skillful, quick, professional, and friendly! I would say the price was very affordable as well. Just an all around great experience. They even followed up with me the next day to make sure everything went smoothly for me. (:

If I could give them a zero star rating I most defiantly would! My husband took in the truck to get it fixed. He spent over 1k . They left old parts on the truck that left me stranded in this hot Arizona heat. They promised him a spot the next day to fix this problem which we were very appreciated for that as they were going to fix their mistake. Then my husband took time off of work and left early when he should up they gave his spot to someone else. Horrible customer service after all. I would not recommend anyone going to this place.

I recently visited Brake Masters to get some car issues sorted out, and I couldn't be happier with the service I received! The team did a fantastic job diagnosing and fixing the problems with my vehicle. Not only were they efficient and thorough, but their customer service was also top-notch. Colin was the main person I interacted with (shoutout to Colin) but everyone was super friendly and incredibly helpful. I highly recommend this Brake Masters for anyone in need of reliable and professional car service!

Place did an oil that was higher priced than the sign they had outside. Then they told me I needed brakes and said rotors couldn’t be cut. They quoted me about $500 for front brakes. I told them Midas was cheaper the guy at the front said he’s never heard of Midas. I thought that was funny but I went to Midas where they were able to cut my rotors and I got my brakes done for about $200. Will NEVER go back to brake masters for any work on my car whatsoever. I advise you all to avoid this establishment as well.

Called because the Brake Masters location I had repairs done at had a phone issue. Even though my questions regarding the previous work was completed at a different shop he took the time to look up my account and answered all of my questions. Not a customer and killer customer service.

Great customer service, I needed a lot of work done on my 🚗 car. It was expensive but they found me coupons and gave a bit of a discount! The work was finished in a timely manner and I've been going to the same location for years and never have had a problem where "one thing is fixed then another thing goes wrong" with this shop. It’s been 4 years since my first visit to Brake Masters #151. I still choose to come to this location to get my repairs and maintenance done because of the exceptional service that I receive. I don’t visit often because they take such good care of my car, but Lori still remembers me each time and always greets me with a smile. The staff were incredibly polite and friendly during this visit, as always. Thank you, Brake Masters #151 team for the continued 5 star service. I had been putting off getting my brakes checked for awhile. The break pad noises were getting louder and I decided that I better get my car in today. I came in not long before closing time and they were happy to get me checked in anyway. Lori, the manager, assured me that it was no problem to stay a bit past closing, that my safety was more important. The lifetime warranty package is definitely a great value. Now I won't feel anxious when I hear the signals to bring my car in the next time, because I know that it will be affordable, quality work.

Lori is great! Reasonably priced. When another shop down the street couldn’t get me in until a week with outrageous prices, Lori got me in same day and there crew was able to fix my car same day. I use it for work so that’s a huge plus for me.

On Thursday, I took my car to the BrakeMasters on Baseline when my car started making grinding noises as I applied the brakes. It was a very stressful day for me, because I use my car for work. I wasn’t sure if I could afford new brake pad/rotors but I had to take my car into the shop, before it got any worse. Laurie and Colin at BrakeMasters did an excellent job of letting me know exactly what was wrong with my car and even gave me a payment plan so it relieved some of the stress from my day. It took about 1-2 hours to finish the work on my car and it drove like a brand new car. Laurie and Colin had excellent customer service and I will definitely be back again because I can trust them to do a great job with my vehicle. I’m so grateful and thankful for them! 👍🏾🙏🏾

I was in desperate need of finding out what was wrong with my car. I had already changed out the battery but the red light flashing in the console still said to check the battery. I had called many places and they all said to bring it in tomorrow...accept for Brake Masters. They were waiting for me when I arrived. Ran the tests to see what was wrong and fixed it! I called a friend to pick me up so we could have lunch and when I returned it was ready to go! Thank you Brake Masters!

I went to Brake Masters 151 in Mesa after having my car repaired at another place in Phoenix for a transmission leak. I had noticed some fluids on my garage floor after that repair. I love this Brake Masters because Lori, the manager, cared more about diagnosing my problem than upselling me services I did not need.. Lori was able to have my automobile inspected within an hour..She showed me my car on the rack. She explained that a spray was placed on my car for the prior transmission repair. This was the fluid on my garage floor. .The mechanic who has 20 years experience with Brake Masters also explained that my car was not leaking fluids. I feel confident that my car is reliable to drive. I also intend to get all my future repairs done there. Brake Masters 151 is run by honest and competent, and hard working persons.

There is news you never want to hear. Your engine needs to be replaced was that kind of news. Many would have opted to buy a new car but mine has been such a trusted and loyal vehicle and it just wasn't the option I choose. I started going to my local Brake Masters a few years ago. I was in search of a trustworthy and straightforward mechanic. As a female, I found several shops I just didn't trust. When I discovered this shop, I was greeted by a knowledgeable female manager. I told her point blank what kind of service I needed and she told me that she would work to deserve my trust. (BASELINE AND 24TH ST MESA AZ) She has done that at all steps of the way.
