My check engine light came on 11/10, on 11/12 I had a diagnostic test performed at the AutoZone telling me it was the purge valve and needed replaced. I Booked an appointment for Brake Masters on 11/13 for 11/14 at 930 am. Spoke with Marco on 11/14 at 930am, he said they needed to perform their own diagnostics test for $160.00. I advised we were already aware of the issue. He said to leave it with him and he would call in a couple of hours. If it turned out to be the same issue, he would discount the diagnostic testing price and provide a price for the service. I reluctantly agreed to allow this. After 4hours I had to call to see what was going on. Although he knew at drop off, that my husband had to be at work in the afternoon, they had not even started the diagnostic process at this time (130pm). Marco advised me again it would take a couple of hours. After some time had passed, I called back, again; 2 hours and 15mins later to be advised he would call me back in 15mins as they were putting together the pricing for the service. When he called back, he said the diagnostics said its fine, but that they can replace the purge valve anyway, if I would like for $366. As I questioned, why it had taken so long, why they were offering to replace the part if it said it was fine, what was wrong instead? and the fact I had to chase down the progress all day, that should not have taken that long, we were told the purge valve failed the first two tests but passed the third. So they could replace it if I wanted but the cost would be as discussed with a full diagnostic charge. At this point, I realized I was dealing with someone trying to scam me out of more money. The exact reason (purge valve) that I brought in was discovered, but I had lost over 6 hours of time, my husband would miss work and income and we were still being told we were going to pay full price for the diagnostics that did not need to be performed in the first place, plus the service. The bill was ultimately discounted 60 dollars down to $306, however, this still feels like absolute robbery; Considering I advised of the issue from the start, it could have just been fixed, we lost all that time, money, income and to charge us for the diagnostic testing at all; is insane. Since the purge valve was the issue to begin with. I would like a manager to contact me! I will also be calling to follow up. We have used this Brake Masters for many years and always been done right, always loved the service. Never did I ever, think they would do us this way. Honestly!

Excellent service. I heard a squicking brake noise. I went in, not knowing what to expect. They explained in detail what needed to be done and showed me why. I was extremely grateful for their understanding, listening to my concern and patience with me.

I’ve had them do alignments on a couple vehicles with slight lifts on them and I go straight to them for a reason. One alignment needed a 2nd tech to look at it and some computer calibrations afterwards but they still got it right and didn’t disappoint, and they didn’t once try to sell me parts I didn’t need.

. I took my truck there for AC service and Bobby fixed a leak it had. I took my truck back for my check engine light on and the problem was taken care of. I took my car in and he told me it was the AC compressor. Car wash fixed. I take all my vehicles into him and refer all my friends and family to him. A lot of shops would do whatever to take your $$$. Bobby is honest and will get the job done

Mixed on my feelings with them. On one hand, I’m quite upset they were incapable of doing something that is entirely within their advertised capabilities. On the other, I’m okay with them saying they don’t know how to do it than to risk messing something up… The guy on the phone didn’t understand enough about tires/suspension to explain why they couldn’t do the work, just said “idk we can’t.” Drove my car several minutes away to a different store and they had zero issues performing the work.

I went in to get an alignment and they said my tire rod was bent and that they couldn't do it until I replaced it so I bought the parts and took it to another alignment specialist they told me that I didn't need to replace those parts 🙄😐😐😐🙄🙄🙄

Went in for an oil change and to have a wheel stud replaced. They were courteous and quick. When I had a concern, they responded well. I’m very impressed with the service at this location.

Hands down the best brake masters in Tucson! I accidentally booked an appointment at Brake Max, came into Brake Masters and told them I was in the wrong place by mistake. They told me to just stay, they would take care of me right away, and they beat their price! My oil change was done right away. Great customer service. Thank you, Bobby!

I brought my vehicle in to Brake Masters for repairs and maintenance needed: spark plugs, oil change, camshaft sensor, intake manifold and catalytic converter replacement. I am very thankful to Fernando and the team for their professionalism and taking the time to explain the issues and work that needs to be done for my 21 year old car. The bill was expensive, but that’s to be expected for how old my car is, but after the repairs, it’s good as new again! I also appreciate Fernando for giving me a call first and letting me know the costs before proceeding with the repairs. Overall, I am very satisfied with the vehicle repair service AND excellent customer service I received from Brake Masters’ team and will definitely be coming back again for any future service and repairs for my other vehicles. Thank you!

Finding a trustworthy automobile shop is NEVER easy. I used the same guy for about 15 years until he retired. When he did I was extremely skeptical about where to start taking my vehicles. I came into this location in 2001 to get my brakes done on my camry and since then I now go to them for most if not all my automobile issues. I had blower motors go out in 2 vehicles and they fixed them both without trying to over charge me or charge me for a whole new AC system. They have earned my business moving forward.

These guys are super helpful and professional. I just needed Some windshield wipers in a pinch after it started raining as I didn’t realize that the one I had were no good . They had me in and out of there in about 20 minutes.
