My husband was in the hospital and we needed two vehicles. Our truck literally had to be towed into Brake Max. I spoke with Charlie, manager, and told him how desperately I needed the truck. At the end of the day I had my truck and it wasn't an easy fix. A few days prior the engine light went on in our car. In a panic I took the car to Brake Max. Don't panic. You just washed your car and something probably got wet. Wait until tomorrow morning. Good advice. Perfect in the morning and no problems since. Charlie, Richard, Michael and mechanics have supported this 78 year old woman who knows nothing about vehicles since my husband was no longer able to take care of our vehicles. Don't worry Charlie said. We will take care of you and he has as well as the entire team at Brake Max. I will be forever grateful to them especially for their kindness. Brake Max at 4545 N. 1st Avenue is the place to go for excellent honest work on your vehicle and service with a smile.

Satisfied with maintenance. Got a radiator change and oil change of old Acura and guys over there are polite, they explain well and didn't give me additional charges. I told them I need a radiator change-they inspected it, installed a new one, tested the system. Simple and reliable communication. Highly recommend this place!

Worst customer service I've received from an auto shop in a very long time. I called them an hour ago they said to bring the car in for an inspection. It's 3:30pm and they refuse to do an inspection today, they want us to make an appointment or drop the car off tomorrow. When I told Richard I was not happy with the service he tried to back track and say they could do better and that they could do the inspection today. I will find a company who actually wants someone's business.

2.5 Stars . Went in for a oil change, had a $15 off discount. Service took 1 hr and no complaints other than them not honoring the discount as i was charged full price even tho coupon was good till 9/30 Edit: Got a call back and got the discount applied. Good customer service rep. 5* for sure!

Efficient, friendly. Did not upsell. Exemplary service. On my last visit to get brakes repaired, Charlie went above and beyond, contacting the company I bought my now dead battery from, and arranging a replacement delivered to Brake Max at no charge, and then replaced the battery.

Great service and a friendly atmosphere. These guys will go the extra mile to make sure you’re taken care of. I needed a tire on short notice and they made sure I was able to get in and out and one day. Charlie, the manager goes the extra mile and the rest of the crew does the same. Great leadership inspires a great crew. Thanks again for all the hard work.

If I could give no stars, I would! I have been dealing with BrakeMax on 1st Ave for about three years and I feel they are a total rip off. I have been purchasing a car battery from them and the battery Never holds more the 5 months and then I am told it only comes with one replacement. I recently purchased a battery from them April 20,2024 and went to get in my car this morning to go to work and boom my car would not start! Yes, I needed a battery. I will NEVER deal with Brakemax AGAIN!

Insanely dishonest pricing for parts. K6541 moog ball joints are $88-100 a piece available locally, I was charged $197 a piece. Upper control arms rk80826 sell for about $100, I was charged $238 a piece. Furthermore, the upper control arms are not the same part, one has a grease fitting the other does not. The list goes on with the price gouging, in general I was charged at least double the price for every part installed on my vehicle. If they can be this dishonest about prices, who knows what else they are capable of. Two stars because they got the work done in one day, and no part failures.
