In the early morning hours on a Monday in February, my car. decided to bite the dust. In a sheer state of panic and worry, I called Brakes Plus on Dodge to get some help. Amanda answered the phone and helped get me a tow to the shop. Once my car got there, Scott took over and gave me updates and information in a very timely manner, while also being honest and open about repairs and cost. Scott and the crew were able to find and fix the issues with my car and get me back on the road in no time! They also saved me a ton of money and helped prolong the life of my car! Thank you, Amanda, Scott, Dan, and the whole crew! You guys are top-notch auto repair!

I’ve been a loyal customer at the 12110 W Dodge Road (Omaha) and 180th & Pacific stores for at least six years, bringing in multiple family vehicles for repairs totaling well over $10,000. I’ve always trusted them for routine maintenance, but my recent experience has completely shaken that trust. I brought my 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited in for service on January 3 to replace a serpentine belt after hearing a squeal. When I dropped it off, I was told the belt wasn’t the only issue—I also needed a new belt tensioner, idler pulley, and an air filter. The total estimate was around $870, which I approved. I picked up the Jeep later that day, with a total bill of $872.67. Fast forward a couple of weeks, and I started hearing a rhythmic noise coming from under the hood. Upon further inspection, I saw that the new serpentine belt was already starting to separate and hitting other components. I called the shop first thing this morning and was told to bring it in. When I arrived at 10:45 AM, I was informed there were two other customers ahead of me. By 1:00 PM, after over two hours of waiting, an employee came out to tell me they had it apart, but couldn't figure out what was causing the problem. I didn't get any other updates until a different technician came to get me at 4:15 PM. The technician said they replaced the belt tensioner again, but the problem was still there. They determined it to be the harmonic balancer. They then quoted me another $468 for the new part, plus labor for that work. One technician told me they could probably get it done before the shop closes. I questioned if that meant the original $870 work on Jan 3 was even necessary. The technician said he could remember it from a month ago (despite the hundreds of customers they've had since). At that point, I was extremely frustrated. I had been in the shop for over five hours—way past the 1-2 hour wait I was expecting. Because I could see my Jeep from where I was sitting in the waiting room, I knew they weren't working on it the whole time. I’ve been a loyal customer for years, and this was the kind of service I’ve never experienced before. It felt like they didn’t care about my time or my business. Their response was weak and dismissive. I’ve always had good experiences here in the past, but after this ordeal, I’m deeply disappointed. I’ve spent thousands of dollars with this company, and the lack of respect and communication today made me feel like just another first-time customer, not a loyal one. I won’t be coming back to this store, and I won't be recommending them anymore, either. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere moving forward.

Dan and Will are amazing and really helped us out! Really a pleasant experience all around. We booked an appointment online and came in, they got us in early, did a thorough inspection on my brakes and found some things we weren't expecting. We were given some options and they worked with us and made a miracle happen! Thank you, Brakes Plus on Dodge!!!! We will be back!

I had a terrible experience—twice! I shouldn’t have given them a second chance. **9/3/24**: I went in to get my oil changed, and it took over four hours when I was initially quoted a maximum of one. I paid for them to replace my back windshield wiper, but they installed a blade that was too long and didn't work. I also specifically requested not to have my cabin air filter changed, yet they removed it anyway. Additionally, they pulled on my hood release latch so hard that it broke. When I returned to my car and pointed out the wire sticking out, they looked me in the eye and lied, saying, “It came to us like that.” **1/3/25**: This time around, I made it clear that they needed to fix the windshield wiper they had previously installed incorrectly. They tried to charge me again, and I told them I didn’t want to pay twice for their mistake. They finally caved and covered it after some back and forth. However, two hours later, I had to call them only to find out they hadn’t even fixed it yet. They wanted to discuss my cabin air filter being bent and incorrectly working. They were the only ones who had handled it, so it’s pretty clear how it got damaged. When I arrived, they informed me that they STILL didn’t have the parts for my windshield wiper and would call me back to make it right. Tomorrow makes a week since my appointment, and there's been no effort on their part to reach out/honor their offer. I never write bad reviews for anyone, but I have been incredibly dissatisfied with the service. If they can't handle a windshield wiper, I wouldn't suggest letting them handle your whole car.

Will got me in right away (no wait time) w/ exception of vehicle work, in which didn't seem long at all. I recommend this business & will return, if needed! Thank you very much Will!! Update*** 12/11/2024 Another Great experience with Brakes Plus on 120th & Dodge!! Dan is the best!! I had a noise going on with my vehicle a couple weeks now and came in on Tuesday to have Dan check it out. He found the issue, brought it back (next day) Wednesday morning and it was fixed and ready to get back on the road!!! I truly appreciate Dan's helpfulness and kindness in assuring that my vehicle is safe for the road!! He shows concern and not many mechanics and businesses are like him and Brakes Plus!! I've been coming now for 2 years and will continue my business here as long as they are around!!! Thanks again Dan and Staff at Brakes Plus!! Job well done!!!👏🏽P.S. Dan don't retire or leave anytime soon😊 Another great experience!!! I went to this location on 121st & Dodge after having an issue with my vehicle. Took my car in on a Saturday, within the hour they diagnosed the issue, called me and said the part needed would be in on the following Tuesday. That Tuesday came and by 11am, I recieved the call my car was ready. I truly appreciate the great customer service I revieved from Dan and Brad. Thank you both for being so nice, concerned and helpful. Thank you Dan, for your honesty and explaining everything along the way regarding my vehicles' needs. I will recommend this shop to everyone I know needing repairs. If you want a friendly honest business and team working on your car this is most definitely the shop to go to!!
