I had an appointment at Brown’s for a tire alignment on my Subaru outback. My tire tread was uneven and bald on one tire so I had purchased some used tires to put on after the alignment. During the drop off, I told Browns about the tires I had brought with me and they informed me they do not put on or install any parts brought in by customers. I told them that was fine and I would take my car to a tire shop after the alignment to get the “new” tires put on. They also tried to upsell me on a $65 diagnostics test which is completely unnecessary for an alignment. I declined the diagnostics and they informed me that it might disrupt my appointment if they needed to run diagnostics. Which again, shouldn’t be an issue since an alignment job does not need a scanner. About an hour after dropping my car off, they called me back to inform me I needed to pick up my vehicle because they would not perform the alignment due to my tires condition and that they would only do an alignment if I purchased four new tires from them. I decided to ask my tire guy who he recommended for an alignment, and he recommended Blue Castle Automotive in the south valley. They got me fixed up and out the door by the next day for $70. Less than half the price that Brown’s quoted me.

I was recommend by a family friend to take my car here as I haven't heard of them before but I trusted his recommendation. My vehicle had a coolent leak that wasn't obviously visible which was concerning. The initial process was great. You go online and schedule an appointment which I did on Sunday. I took my vehicle at 8 am Monday explained the issue, left my vehicle and went home. It was just under $60 for the diagnosis with taxes. I didn't hear from anyone at Brown's all day so I had to call at 5 pm to be told they would need another day to locate the issue. Tuesday morning at 10 am I was contacted and emailed a detailed diagnosis of the issue and was told it was just under $1500 to fix the water pump and thermostat. I am busy and researched that this was already a concerning issue so I gave the the go ahead to just fix it. On Wednesday, at 9 am I was told my vehicle was ready to go. I arrived at Brown's and was greeted by one of their technicians and not the staff at the counter. The two employees were busy answering the phones. I believe the manager was there too and didn't attempt to assist me. I needed to get going as I already paid for the service over the phone. I finally had to stand up while a female employee just hung up the phone, interrupted her and said I was there to get my vehicle. She handed me a document of the services performed and said my vehicle was parked on the street. That was it. No explanation of any warranty, the services performed or even a thank you. That kinda of rubbed me the wrong way with Brown's. I felt like your just another client to them and that was it. So they are not very good with customer service but that was my experience. To be fair, my vehicle is running great and no longer leaking antifreeze. I drove it for about 15 miles pretty hard and it performed great. Here's what is concerning. While I was looking through the diagnostic, I noticed the technician recommended an oil change based on an old sticker in my vehicle from Jiffy Lube. I hadn't removed it but an experienced technician should have easily checked the oil level to determine it was at a satisfactory level, correct? I didn't tell Brown's that I just recently got an oil change at Jiffy Lube on 9/27/24. While I was looking at the final paperwork, it appears I was charged for an oil change but I'm not sure if that was performed because like I said, I just got one. So I'm not sure if I'd return to that location at 6001 4th St NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107. I personally would go to another location and give them another try if I need services performed on my vehicle. If you do go, I hope you have a better experience.

This is my new car repair place. Booking the appt was very easy to do online. Everyone was pleasant when I dropped the car off. The inspection was thorough and I love the way the information was organized and explained. I had a couple of maintenance repairs that needed to be done, which always makes me cringe, but the prices were fair and the work was completed within the same day! Would highly recommend this shop to everyone!

We were visiting town in my mom’s jeep, The check engine light came on and the jeep was being shaky when we started it. We called Brown’s and they luckily squeezed us in and got the jeep fixed, they were super helpful and super professional, i will definitely be recommending this place to my fellow friends here in New Mexico! Brown's is an excellent, trustworthy place for emergencies, as well as basic maintenance and upkeep. The guys are great to work with, they work fast, and they are so thorough at clearly making sure you understand all they do with your vehicle. Had my F150 checked using their free vehicle inspection with digital photos. Nice service. They found a couple of items that needed or recommended replacing (brake fluid, fuel filter and my old shocks). Friendly folks and fairly quick and was back on the road as promised. I have used them before and will return.

These guys really made me feel taken care of. They will err on the side of over communicating to you that, as someone who doesn’t know cars, could be overwhelmed by. But they help. They care. They make sure you know what they are doing. And if you have something fixed, they will stick by you to help you figure out what else could be wrong. I really have been impressed by their professionalism but also by their community partnership.

This company is exceptional! When other shops wouldn't talk to us because it was a three day weekend, they took us in and were proud to show us the national map of people they had helped from all around the country. They charged a fair price to diagnose and repair something that would've stalled us for days in Albuquerque. The mechanics were clearly well trained in their field, and the courtesy and professionalism was over the top.

This place was great and welcomed me when the dealership turned me away because my vehicle was "older". They communicated with me daily if not every other day on the status of my Nissan Frontier. Their technicians were helpful in resolving the problem and offered options that were economical. I would recommend them to anyone and will be a return customer as I own several Nissan vehicles.

I recently moved to Albuquerque and family recommended Browns. My car is purring like a kitten. I had it towed to Browns when my car suddenly made sounds as if I was dragging something. There was nothing there. Browns ran a full diagnosis as well as a visual inspection. The dragging sounds were caused by a spring from my new (30 days earlier) installed brakes, sprung . The problem was fixed. They also provided me a full report about my car that is easy to understand, advising what is okay, what needs attention and what is critical and needs attention. I didn't feel like a victim as happens with some repair shops. I will not be go anywhere else.

These are my new Mercedes Mechanics!!! My A/C went out right before July 4th long weekend. I scheduled an appointment online as they had the first available in the city. A/C was cold and comfortable on pick up…a few days later the new compressor froze up… Browns had a tow truck at my office in an hour. The job was completed the next day under warranty. Love this shop!

Took a while longer than expected, but the results were great. They made sure everything was good before releasing the vehicle to me. So far, my truck runs like a champ.
