Straight-forward staff. Ez. Going back for struts. I have been looking for a place like this. ; very happy. They will take care of me and my Rav 4 until the wheels fall off one of us, though likely me :)

I have been taking my fleet vehicles to Brown's for several months now. They have great technology to show and explain items that may need some attention both now and down the road. The communication has been fantastic and I appreciate their consideration about having a commercial vehicle in the shop and not keeping it tied up any longer than needed. I have the Wyoming location on speed dial! Everyone I have dealt with has been great...specifically Michael the GM. Isaac, Jeremy, Darrell, and the whole team has been great. I also like supporting a local business.

Amazing shop. Kind staff, worked fast, and charged a fair price

Bogus diagnostics on 2nd visit. My initial visit at the Wyoming location in mid August was great, and I was pleased with their thoroughness and the manner in which the diagnostic report is presented. At that time, my car was given a clean bill of health with no immediate concerns and two minor things to monitor. The other day (this is October) I took the same car into the Alameda location to look at the brake light switch which has remained on since driving the through some muck. The report was vastly different than the one I received two months ago, with a myriad of issues that are puzzling to me and cause for question. The total of these issues was over $4k, many of which just don’t check out. The explanation I was given was that some mechanics are more thorough than others. As an aside, I wasn’t thrilled with having my belongings in the passenger seat chucked in the back with zero care or regard. Bottom line is, I won’t be back. The 2 stars is for the Wyoming location. Edit, December 2024: I since took it to a different mechanic in Albuquerque and brought the deferred estimate papers with me. Shook his head after looking at what they were looking to charge me for parts and what they had found wrong with the car (one of those things was the strut assembly. Turned out that NOTHING needed to be replaced). Word on the street is that Brown’s expanded too fast and are hemorrhaging money.

I was very disappointed I took in my 2010 Mazda the window would not roll back up Car was there all day I called the told it’s $501.00 & bring it back tomorrow the part was not in. I still had to pay $93. For diagnosis I already said it was the window 1/6/25 I returned and spoke to the lead mechanic Jeremy who replaced my window motor. He is a people person and by far the best mechanic they have I appreciate him replacing the window motor. I have been coming here since it was Dons auto repair. I am very satisfied with the work Jeremy has completed

The BEST auto shop in the city! I love this place and would never take my vehicle anywhere else. Micheal is amazing and so knowledgeable and helpful. He is quick and never leaves me hanging. Also, they send me deals in the mail all of the time! Great place highly recommend

Very professional, I found my new automotive guys I trust.

Cliff tried charging me $350 for a cabin air filter install. After that I knew this place is a scam. Literally take 30 seconds to swap out a $20 filter. Please don't take your vehicle here. They also tried ripping off my nephew over $6,000 for a new engine here. Place has gone downhill the last 10 years. I won't come back again. Edit: This was after new ownership was already established. Don't bring your car to these crooks.

For whatever your vehicle may need, I would recommend Brown’s automotive. not only are the service writers and managers, friendly and willing to patiently explain everything but Jeremy the master tech that worked on my 2010 Toyota Corolla was thorough and professional. He was asked to do a full health inspection of the vehicle and an oil change before a long road trip, they provided pictures and health status of every bit of the car and insured that my car was ready trip to go smoothly and without issue. They even provided a breakdown of The full inspection, including pictures and descriptions of everything. Thank you, Jeremy for your thorough and disciplined work. I will be back! And if you are looking for a shop, you can trust with a level of excellence incomparable to that of the Albuquerque area. This is the place to go!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND BROWNS AUTOMOTIVE. I took my 2019 Lexus in because of a service light the Lexus dealership couldn’t figure out after oil changes tpms resets etc and a horrible alignment. After dropping my car off In the morning at brown’s automotive Jeremy was able to get an alignment, the service light fixed and found the brake pads and rotors needed to be replaced. They even provided pictures and explained specifications for safety (another thing the Lexus dealership completely missed) I even got my car back in the same day. Now my car has never driven better. Feels brand new. In addition they included a full health inspection for peace of mind! Thank you guys!! Jeremy is the best!

Took vehicle in due to an issue with stalling at idle. Originally we were informed that we needed a new $13,000 engine on a vehicle worth $5000. Due to low compression in one cylinder and moisture in cylinder. No other options were offered. Engines for this vehicle average $2500-3500, so $9,500 for labor...? While the vehicle was at browns the spark plug cable was damaged. So when we dropped it off it ran fine, again just stalling (a total of three times in two weeks before we took it in). When we picked it up it was not running fine REQUIRING it to be towed away due to broken spark plug wire, which occurred during the diagnostic inspection. We took it to a second mechanic and they found that the fuel injector was malfunctioning, at idle. The second mechanic replaced the spark plugs, wires, injector ignition coil and the vehicle runs perfect now with no more instances of stalling. And the moisture was unburnt fuel. I contacted the manager to notify them they incorrectly diagnosed the problem and he asked me to bring in the vehicle to confirm since they completed the compression test Incorrectly. He of course doubled down that it needs a new engine because two of the cylinders are 10psi outside of the manufacturer’s recommended tolerance. Sure is strange that a vehicle that runs PERFECT “needs a new engine”; especially when the second mechanic states that it does NOT need a new engine and 10psi low on the compression test is pretty standard for 16 year old engine with 131,000 miles. In addition the manager was too busy at pick up to speak with me regarding the entire situation. Nor was I called when I was told I would be called. All I am asking for is a full or partial refund of the diagnostic fee due to incorrect diagnosis and the damage caused by Browns during the diagnostic. Looking at other reviews seems like a standard operating procedure for Browns.

Brown's Auto Experts rotated my tires. It didn't take long, Thank you. They also know what your car needs and when. They remind you when check ups are due. I'll be returning to them to take care of my car in the future.

Ram promaster wouldn’t start after sitting for a few months with battery disconnected. We had it towed in and the checked it out. Needed new battery. They put one in - checked out the electrical system and we were on the road in a few hours. Great service and wonderful staff

☆☆☆☆☆ UPDATE: Brown's failed!!! My review was too premature. Starter has failed less than 2 weeks after installed. And when I called to speak with the mecahnic, he wasn't available AND has not called me back 3 days later! Crickets! Upsale on an item that wasn't the problem. Spent $835 on repairs which didn't need to be repaired. Caveat emptor!!! ======================= The staff were very professional. They stayed a few minutes after hours until the late tow truck driver raced through rush hour traffic to get there. When they wanted to put my vehicle outside overnight, and had told me they would put it inside, I objected due to high theft potential in Albuquerque. They, along with the tow truck driver, pushed it into the garage. The mechanic wasvery thorough. After his initial repair and starting my truck 4 times, he tried the 5th time, and it wouldn't start. Replacement of the starter was in line and he recommended the Motocraft one. He explained why and we discussed several things pertaining to my truck. Kudos to him for hisexpertise and openess.

Called Browns to help inspect an issue i was having on my car. They got me in the next day and the service was awesome. Got a full report of all the work done along with detailed photos. The photos were before and after. Incredibly detailed and well documented. If you were ever worried about not knowing if services were performed, details and services like this go such a long way. Earned my business from here on out. Thanks and shout out to the awesome techs there.

I took my car in for an oil change, tune up, and to possibly fix my AC. They quoted me a price of $2000.00 to fix everything. When I decided to wait on getting the AC fixed the next grand total for an oil change and tune up was $ 1,400 some dollars. The only thing I could afford was the oil change, and even then they didn't put window washing fluid in as I had asked. Needless to get I won't be returning. Too rich for my blood. Buyer beware.

I want to thank the team at Browns for taking the time to find the root of my car problem and getting it fixed. Mike contacted the manufacturer of my car part and found that they had a known issue, got new parts, and repaired my vehicle, all under their 36/36 warranty. Mike, Jeremy, and Isaac all did a great job taking care of me! I don’t go anywhere else for my car care needs due to the great service this team provides!

I've never seen a company whose service is as thorough as this one. I went in for a simple oile change and it included a "health checkup" which is a complete vehicle check complete with pictures, explanations of problems, possible future problems, recommendations etc. It really impressed me and opened my eyes about things to watch for. A kind, courteous and knowledgeable staff!! I HIGHLY recommend Brown's Automotive. Check them out!

Left my car overnight with them so that they could give my car a good going over after my car was introduced to the back side of an O'Reilly's parts delivery truck that cut me off (trust me, those How Am I Driving 800 #'s are a bunch of b.s. because O'Reilly's will not claim responsibility). I'm truncating almost 95% of the rest of my experience with Brown's. The one star is due to the fact that these nimnuls wanted to charge me $97 to replace the cabin air filter in my car. I guess they figured I'm a stupid, helpless woman unable to A)purchase a filter that costs roughly $15 on average, B) open my car door, C) open the glove box and remove two small plastic pins so that glove box will open further, D) pull out the tray where the air filter sits -- it's kind of like a CD tray or an 8 track player deck [if you don't know what those things are, ask your grandparents], E) take out old filter and pop in the new filter and reverse the process. The most difficult part of the whole deal is popping out the pins on the glove box so it will flop open further. In my case, those pins had already been removed so I would have saved their "automotive technician" some trouble. This whole process takes less than five minutes, not including your trip to Auto Zone, and they wanted to charge me nearly one hundred dollars to do this. That, my friends, is a rip off. I will say though that the quote to replace to replace my serpentine belt was reasonable. Keep in mind that all of the quotes are generated by a software program called Smart Flow, so once a code for whatever service is keyed in, it churns out a quote and all of the big chain shops use a similar service. Brown's used to be a small local automotive repair shop, but now they've expanded to shops all around ABQ, and that's probably because they charge $97 to R&R a cabin air filter on a 16 year old banger Lexus (that delivery people from O'Reilly's can casually knock into and get away with). Sincerely, The daughter of an "automotive and aviation technician," AKA a "mechanic"

great service, set appointment and service to be done diagnostic and problem engine light on, fault was found and addressed same day as promised, involved a removal of intake manifold to get to sensor needing replacement, very knowledgeable mechanics. Updates and photos were taken of service and possible other things needing addressing.
