Had a dent spanning two doors on our Subaru Impreza that Javier and the bodywork team did a perfect job repairing. Other shops quoted higher prices for new doors and work, but Javier was able to repair perfectly for half the cost.

I'm not a frequent reviewer. Maybe 4 or 5 in my life. But I couldn't not write a review about how fantastic my experience was at Bussard's. I had gotten in an accident nearly totaling my truck and leaving the front half of my it in pretty dire straits. I had been pointed to Bussard's by a friend and I thought I'd give them a shot. I was helped by Javier and immediately I felt well taken care of. He explained to me in detail what the process was going to look like, handled all the exchanges with insurance, and really vouched to try and get all money he could to fully restore my car and not cut any corners. He was also able to buff out some marks and dents previously left from before the accident. He even gave me a ride home after dropping off the car the first day so I didn't have to uber! He was very communicative and transparent with updates and I never once felt distrusting of his intentions. (And I'm an inherently skeptical person.) Javier and the owner also did a walk-though with me when my car was ready and pointed out everything that had been changed and honestly my truck hadn't looked that good in years. The people at Bussard's know what they're doing, and seem to really have you and your vehicle's best interest in mind and not just wanting to rip you off. I will be back for further car issues as I know it's in good hands with Javier.

Bussard's has to be one of the best mechanic/ auto shops I've ever been to. Not only are they extremely knowledgeable and professional, but they are also extremely kind, patient and persistent. I had an issue with my Corolla that was happening off and on. And the team at Bussard's went above and beyond to look into it for me. I truly appreciate them for it!

I’ve always had a fantastic experience at Bussard’s auto shop and felt compelled to share. The team here excels in communication, providing clear and transparent assessments of my car's condition. They’ve done an excellent job keeping my high-mileage vehicle in great shape, which is no small feat! I used to rely on the Honda service center, but I never felt like they truly cared for my older car. This shop is different; they treat you like family and genuinely take the time to address your concerns. My brother also brings his car here, and we both appreciate the friendly atmosphere and the knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend for anyone looking for reliable and caring service!

My girlfriend has been bring her car to Bussard's for years, and recommended them to me. I brought my car in because the brakes were squeaking a bit, and I thought it might be time for new brakes. Gary and his team did a thorough inspection and found that my brakes actually have over half of their life left, and didn't charge me anything for the inspection. Lots of mechanics would tell you that you needed some expensive repair anyway, but Bussard's is honest enough to say, "No, everything is fine." I'll definitely be bringing my car in when it actually does need service!

The absolute best mechanics and a fantastically run business. They have worked on my 2018 Jetta and 99 Ford Ranger, the latter which they fixed up and is now running amazing. I really appreciate their detailed analysis and notes that they provide in their receipt. They are always very accommodating, never getting annoyed with my stupid questions and always explaining things in great detail. They also hold themselves accountable for their work. My friend referred me to Bussard’s with glowing reviews after they fixed up his old mini van before driving it across country. Rumor has it that the owner is a highly decorated mechanic who has one some awards. You can tell they employ the scientific method when triaging difficult issues. Highly recommended.

They went above and beyond. I brought the car in for ac repair, and break light replacement. I left with a clean car that drives better than when I drove it off the dealership lot new! Very good communication throughout the process. Will be back for any automotive needs but trust it will be a while since they did such great work.

I'm visiting family in L.A. and the key fob on my very old car broke causing my car not to start. I only need a new housing, but they couldn't find one because my car is so old. Joe superglued the housing together for me so that my car would start. It took him a good hour all together. He got me back on the road and he charged me exactly $0! He was extremely nice. While I was waiting, I overheard the shop's exchanges with other clients on the phone and those who came into the office. Everyone was pleasant and helpful and all the clients seemed quite happy. If there's 10 stars then I will put 10x100. I've lived in LA for 20 + years, but never been able to trust any mechanic until I met Gary this week. I went in for the smog check, but because his shop was busy, he had taken my car to his trusted mechanic who does the smog check. He charged me what the mechanic charged, he then told me what parts needed to be looked at. After all was done, Javier gave me a ride back to my place! I mean who does that!? There's a reason that he's been in business since 1973. You should ask the history of his shop - it's an incredible and inspiring story he'll share with you. Can't recommend highly enough!

Bussard was the most helpful Mechanic I’ve ever had. After a car accident, they quickly took my car in and got it fixed up in the best condition I could’ve imagined. They even went further than needed and polished my headlights after all of the other work was done. Instead of using new parts, they offered to use aftermarket parts and spent the time to save me money and we’re so honest and reliable. I trust them fully. I’ve been using this auto service for over two years, but this last time they went above and beyond. Their quote came in lower than other places, and they worked faster than expected. Forever grateful.

I love this car place. It took me years to find a good car place in LA. Since I’m not great with car knowledge, I felt like other places (especially the dealerships) would try to take advantage of me. It wasn’t until my friend recommended Bussard that I finally found the best car place. When you get an oil change, they inspect your entire car. They went above and beyond to take care me of me and my car. I can’t recommend them enough.

I have a crazy story. I locked my electronic key inside my car outside my gym. I called a locksmith, but I did a quick search and saw that locksmiths can really rip you off in LA. Bussard's has done some repairs on my car in the past, and I called them wanting to know how much it would cost to replace a passenger window if I just threw a rock through it. I wanted to at least have something to compare the price of the locksmith against. So I get on the phone with Gary from Bussard's, and he tells me to cancel the locksmith, and asks me where I am. I was about 20 minutes from the automotive center. He gets in his car and drives to me with a full locksmith kit, opens up my car, and even helps me trouble shoot how the heck my electronic key locked itself in my car. It took a little while. He charged me NOTHING. Just a friendly service for a loyal customer.

This place is great~ Star Mazda had quoted me $5K for repairs on my old car and Bussard’s quoted me more like $3/3.5K. They were nothing but transparent about the pricing and problems and told me exactly what needed to be done now for my safety vs. what could wait. They went above and beyond for me and I’ll certainly be coming back. Thank you!!

I have a 2002 BMWX5. My car wipers stopped in that awful storm Feb 4 which left me stranded on the Grapevine coming from Napa to LA. I was towed, yet I got lucky! AAA referred me to the BEST mechanics in LA. BRUSSARDS easily found the problem, a stripped bolt was not screwed down properly and caught on the wiper mechanism, stopping my wipers. Brussards was also able to easily repair my smog problem, with low cost, as my mechanic in Napa was not able to fix. Gary explained everything in detail what needed to be done, showing me on the monitor. He also cleaned my oil tank with some special sauce!! Ha! And a few other little things that had not been taken care of..(put in R and L turn signal bulbs, rear brake light) These guys are honest geniuses. they made my car safe again. I was so grateful for being so well taken care of and their sincere concern to make my car safe. Gary, Joe and Mary, you are the Best! And were so professional with excellent communication, following up,keeping me informed on everything they did. I plan on taking my car in for checkup next time I'm in LA... to this great team of Professionals whom I can count on to do the right thing. Highly recommend for excellence and honesty.

We were very lucky a friend recommended Bussard’s when we moved to LA. Gary is so helpful and really cares about doing right by his customers, he even helped us manage issues with our insurance. I was nervous about finding a mechanic we could trust in a new city and unfortunately we needed one right away when our catalytic converter was stolen. I am really glad to have met Gary and to know we have a place that will take good care of us.

Bussard's is the only auto-shop I will be dealing with for as long as I live in LA. Honest, reliable, fast. They never nickel and dime you. In fact, they've helped me out with a jump and a bit of oil multiple times (even when they were about to close!) It's hard to find a mechanic you can trust, and with Gary and his team I have piece of mind because know I'm in great hands. UPDATE: Years later and still the best. Another incredible experience dealing with Gary and the team at Bussard's. Great value, clear communication, fast turnaround. A breath of fresh air with a service that is usually a nightmare. Highly recommend.

Gary and the other employees at Bussard's were very friendly and easy to work with. It had been two years since my Subaru had been to a mechanic so it was in need of a lot of fixes. They told me all oil changes come with a general safety check on the vehicle, which identified a number of small issues with my Outback. I gave them the greenlight and my car was ready for pickup early the next day. Gary was very thorough at helping me understand everything they worked on in the vehicle, which I appreciated.

Hands down the best mechanic we’ve found since living in LA for the last 5 years. Gary the owner is trustworthy and takes the time to understand the issues you have, and his team does a quality job at a good price. Mary is also very responsive to requests and friendly will even give you a follow up call to see how the repair went. Our 2008 Honda Fit with +190K miles is driving like new.

I really appreciate the honesty of this shop. When I got back into my car after they finished working on it, I noticed a $20 bill in my front cup holder that wasn't there when I dropped off the car. As I drove off, I called them back to see if one of the mechanics had accidentally left their cash in the car while working on it. Apparently, one of them had found the bill loose in the back seat and put it in my cup holder. It's nice to know, in this day and age, that there are still people who value honesty and consideration.

Nothing better than a neighborhood auto shop you can trust. The team is wonderful, prices are reasonable, nothing to upsell and they will take great care of your car. They did work to replace my clutch and overall general maintenance. They even do tires! Could not be happier that we found them and have been referring friends and family to them as well!

This is by far the most honest , great customer service you can get your car fixed. I took my car there 3 times. First time they said it was an easy fix no charge. Second time I got some service done. Third time they didn't charge me anything even after they did some work . Highly recommended

Yes, they know how to do Smart Car For-Two repairs. Joe always explains the diagnosis and repairs needed. They are very friendly people and I highly recommend them.
