Absolute ripoff. Took my car here to get engine checked…tried charging me for two diagnostics ($135 each) because I said my engine had a ticking sound and their was a check engine light, which they tried to claim was two separate issues. Called them out on it and they changed it, but they were ready to try and double charge me. They then did absolutely nothing besides get the codes I could’ve got free at autozone before telling me it’d be another $500 to finish diagnosing because of engine tear down. I understand dealerships are always gonna be more expensive than your local mechanic, but they were so clearly trying to milk me for whatever they could without doing any real work. If someone comes in with an engine issue don’t you think you should mention engine tear down is an additional cost and might be necessary instead of telling me you’ll be able to give me a diagnosis and estimate for $135? I asked repeatedly when I dropped it off that the $135 diagnosis fee would guarantee an accurate estimate and they repeatedly told me yes it will. Oh, and the issue turned out to be one super common to my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, so common that a local mechanic told me any reputable Jeep mechanic should be aware of it. Not sure if they knew and just wanted to rip me off or if they are just incompetent. Was by no means expecting cheap service, again I know how dealership service centers are more expensive, but I was at least expecting some honesty and for them to operate in good faith.

Took our Grand Wagoneer in with half a tank of gas to get the oil changed the the active lane management fixed. It stopped working less than a mile from the dealership. This after they returned the vehicle with ZERO miles of fuel left. The outside of the car was filthy from their car wash. The guy we worked with was nice, professional and as helpful as he could be. The service manager needs to find a new line of work or take some major customer service training.

Didnt get the african american gentlemen name I'm sure he gave it to me I was just getting off from work and had stopped by with my Jeep he was able to make me an immediate appointment for the following day about my check engine light but then by the time it was time for the appointment it went off he was very kind and very knowledgeable patient took his time to make sure that I had all of my questions answered you don't see great customer service like that often anymore so I just wanted to let him know that I appreciated it and the next time there's an issue with my Jeep I will see you guys soon

Fixed problem of horn honking when opening door. Said they did not know why it honked when I asked. $512. Horn did not honk when they took it back to service it. I think it was a simple programming fix from dead battery. But they replaced horn pad to cash in. Next car will be a Tesla. No more dealers.

Great survive mechanics do good work

I came here after setting an online appointment. I bought a used car from Byers a few months prior and had a warranty on the parts. It seems like the mechanics here don’t know anything at all about Byers, their warranties, or fixing cars. My car is a hybrid, and again, a hybrid I bought at Byers. I was told immediately upon check-in to take my car to the manufacturer. Why would I do that when it was sold to me here?? I’ve never dealt with the manufacturer. I was told that this was because my car is a hybrid and is therefore “not a car” but “a whole different beast.” Do you mean to tell me that a car dealership mechanic in 2022 has never worked on a hybrid car? Especially when that dealership SELLS hybrid cars?! I was told that a diagnostic examination would be $225 and the parts could be upwards of $500. No attempt to look up my warranty or contract with the dealership. Just telling me outright that I have limited coverage and these parts probably won’t be covered. (Only for me to dig up my contract later and find out that I have full bumper-to-bumper coverage.) I took my car for diagnosis elsewhere before thinking that it would be cheaper to go through my dealership. Wrong! The diagnosis was $50 at this other place and took one hour. Here, I was quoted $225 and the man I spoke to told me that they’ll be going on lunch soon so it might be more than two hours. He quoted me $225 and then said that he might not even be able to FIX the car because it’s a hybrid. So what would I be paying $225 for?! Again, another mechanic quoted me parts and labor in an hour with this exact same ~hybrid~ car! Just an ASTOUNDING amount of laziness! Drove all the way there in my hot car with no AC that I BOUGHT from this exact dealership just for them to be as unhelpful as humanly possible. Completely useless people.

Marcus is amazing!!! Insurance sent my Jeep to this location (even though it should have went to the collision center), but he made sure he did what he could. Great communication skills, I was always able to reach him and he was patient w/a bad situation. The level of customer service Marcus gave us is something Byers should be very proud of, he’s awesome!!!

I brought my vehicle in on 2/18 due to my car having trouble starting intermittently and to address my check engine light, as well as the recalls. Prior to drop-off I had my engine light read at auto zone (still have the originals). when I took my car in the service manager Jace Campbell was very condescending towards me as if I didn't know what the recalls were on my car. I left my car there and was advised I would get a call. Jace called me advised a camshaft sensor needed to be replaced and a tune up was the reason why the engine light was on. a few hours later I was told my car was ready and I came to pick it up. I was not greeted and had to tell someone I was there to pick up my car and then was pointed to the cashier office and not verbally told. I paid $632.49 and was given my keys but had no clue where my car was parked. I had to ask where my car was and was given another hand gesture. I got in the car engine light was off and started fine. I drove it home and didn't drive it anymore that day. The following day I drove it that evening and the engine light came on again. I was highly upset. It was a Friday and the dealer was already closed for the day and they are closed on the weekends. I had a family emergency and I called them on 2/23. During my conversation he was very condescending basically said that the engine light could be. from the gas cap and I advised the car has not been refueled since the repairs were made also said I would need to be responsible for the repairs and diagnostic fee again. I brought the car back in on 2/24 at 12 noon. Prior to going I stopped at advanced auto to get the light read and the codes coming up were in regards to the camshaft( have photos to prove). Once inside I speak with Jace again, he checked the codes on car and saw the camshaft codes and then explained that they can have me schedule to leave my car and I would be responsible to pay another diagnostic fee if it shows that its not due to the repairs made. I honestly didn't feel comfortable with them working on My car at this point. He asked if he could take it to the tech. I waited 20 mins and he came back said the tech reset the light. I explained that's what you guys did when I picked it up so it wouldn't appear to be on. I asked if you test drive the car after repairing it he said they drive to Broad Street and back which is 5 miles. I looked it up it is not 5 miles in distance. I was asked what I wanted I said a refund. He went and got his manager and and the manager also wanted me to leave the car and I don't feel comfortable considering I spent so much money and the engine light is still on. Stated if I go to another dealer and they prove it something wrong with the work they have done then they will consider a refund. If I go to another dealer I would have to pay another diagnostic fee. I would just like a refund so I can take it to another dealer and have it done right

Interesting approach. I took a car there for electrical service. They gave me an estimate of $5,000 to work on a 2010 car, which I decline. Didn't offer me opertuntity to talk to a new or used sales person to maybe trade for another car. Traded car to another dealer for a new car.
