I have been taking all my cars to Capital City Automotive for decades. They always give good service, solid work, and advice you can trust. They help keep your cars so well maintained it's mostly preventative maintenance and repairs, though if you are stuck needing quick help for either a small or major problem, they will accommodate your needs and send you happily on your way. Though I'm sure they have many other clients, the feel like my personal mechanics. If you are looking for a solid mechanic, they will deliver.

I have been using Capital City Auto for years and would never go anywhere else. They are always able to get me in quickly and are transparent, helpful and knowledgeable about what needs to be done to solve any issues I am experiencing with my car.

I ran out of Diesel in my 26ft Box truck right in front of his shop with my back end sticking out in the road trying to park to no avail. I went up to the owner for Gas station recommendations tht have diesel. He offered me some left over Diesel from his tractor and i was able to make it to the Gas station 2 miles down the road. After speaking with him i can really say he’s a good man from Lebanon running a great busy automotive business. Thanks again man your a life savior God bless!

The prices are fair and they never try to upsell me on something I don't need. They are the best.

Great place to take your car! My wife and I recently moved to Austin. On our way down, my wife's car overheated and we ended up limping it to here. They had a quote within a few hours and worked with us as a young couple to not make it more expensive than it needed to be. They had it fixed by the next day. The next week, the starter on our other car went out. Same thing - in and out within a day and fairly priced! Glad we found our mechanic early on!

Scam artists. Charging $250 for an oil change. Don’t come here. These type of people gives mechanics a bad name. Trying to rip people off instead of just charging a fair price and doing their job.

Was in need of a mechanic on the south side of town, and very thankful that a friend recommended Capital City Automotive. They've been beyond helpful when I need work done to keep my '04 Ranger running, and they know their stuff. Honest quotes and fair pricing is the cherry on top.

I bought a 2011 Subaru in 2018 and because I live south I looked for a place to service my vehicle in south/central Austin. I could not be more please with Capital City Automotive. From the very first time I stopped by they have been so helpful and in 6 years I have had only basic things needed on my car. My daughter bought her first car from them and has also loved her experience for the last 4 years. I love the location because I can go get something to eat while they work on my car and when they are done, I drive away knowing my cars needs were taken care of. Hats off to these guys!! They work hard and it shows!

I came here past due on my car inspection and no lie - I believe I was here only 8 minutes. We pass this place fequently since we're in the hood constantly walking Congress and little did I know they can test for state inspections. Pieces of advice: - They only offer these certain times of the day. My short term memory fails me so call and double check what time they do these before you go. - You have to wait with your car at the shop. Which ended up not mattering because they were so quick. (This might not make a difference to those of you who do not live in the area anyway) My experience there was short, but for sure that's definitely good thing.

Capital City Automotive is an Austin original..run by a family that is representative of the old Austin as we knew it. They do it all..mechanical repairs, body work and car sales. These guys are genuine, trustworthy, personable, knowledgeable and their work all deserving of a 5 star rating. On day 1 they treat you as if they have always known you. Really kind people. They are fair and honest. I recently had someone run into the back of my car resulting in the need of a new bumper. They know how to bring calm to a very stressful situation reassuringly…taking complete control of the situation and advising. I took to them as I always have because I know it will be done to perfection. These guys know cars inside and out. If I could give them more stars I would. So pleased with my new bumper!

I cannot thank Capital City Automotive enough for their help. I called and within 30 minutes I had my car at the shop. I received a diagnosis within an hour or so. I had my car in and out of the shop in less than 24 hours and it is good as new! Every other place I called was quoting at least a week to get in. Everyone was so kind and helpful here and I highly recommend you bring your car here! Thank you thank you!!

This is the best automotive shop I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. Their expertise and knowledge are unparalleled. They are fair and reasonable and communicative. I have been taking my automobiles to them for years and years, and I have never had a problem. I feel fortunate that I found their shop so many years ago.
