It is so nice to go to a mechanic shop. It’s not trying to make up anything so they can make more money. This guy is extremely honest and they do a really good job. I’ll be going here for the foreseeable future.

I really appreciated Bruce in taking time with me when I called to get my brakes serviced. He was patient and respectful as he asked the questions necessary to understand my concerns and took time to explain what he would do to accomplish the job. I had a great first time experience. Bruce was honest about telling me when I should have things repaired. He also was honest about quotes and was able to perform the work at the lower quote of the 2 he gave me. Highly recommend!

Had my car's A/C fixed here in August 2024. Bruce fixed it at a fraction of what the Honda dealer was going to charge us. The only downside is they don't have a customer lounge/waiting area, so you have to leave your car and pick it up later.

I have been to my fair share of mechanics, having been 'blessed' with ownership of a now 20 year old German vehicle. Out of every shop I've been to for various repairs, I'd rate Carrollwood Auto Repair at the top in terms of both price and service. (With a shout-out to RnR Tires on Fletcher and DAS Autowerks as also doing good work.) Bruce and Mike have done right by me through several very messy issues, and in all instances they have either fixed the problem outright (across innumerable electrical issues, alternators, batteries, maintenance, suspension and CV boots, clocksprings, sensors, etc.), or correctly identified a problem and put me in touch with specialists. (Things like an evaporator replacement for the AC, solenoid issues with a transmission, and a very messy error code being thrown by the airbag module.) In all instances, the work they did was high quality, and the price was at or often below prices found in online research or quotes from other shops. There is only one real negative to Carrollwood Auto Repair: because they do good work at below average prices, they are perpetually packed to the gills. This means that most fixes will need to be scheduled at least a few days to a week in advance. (A minor inconvenience for saving several hundred dollars per fix.)

Bruce did a job well done with my car. Unfortunately, the service was overshadowed by his inability to be respectful with my spouse's first name. We all have unique names and although a certain name may be IN HIS words 'odd', it should be respected. We have enough hatred and ignorance in this nation and change starts from within ourselves. Bruce, please do not comment on this unless it's an apology. Will never come back.

I scheduled an appointment and never got a time to come in. After calling at 9 am to ask when to come in whoever answered sounded like they got mad and became a little disrespectful.

Honest great man. I went there to diagnose if there was a problem. He came in my car, tested it out, said there was not a problem, and gave me a detailed explanation. He also did not charge. He has gained a customer in me for my future needs.

I brought my car in to get a second opinion after I was told I needed new calipers, and break pads somewhere else ($740). Bruce test drove my car, and took the time to explain why my car does not need any work done. And did not charge me for it! So happy to finally find a shop that cares about the well-maintenance of cars and not getting money from their customers!

Wouldn’t ever come back here. Was told it’s $82 to do a test to figure out what’s wrong with my car but wouldn’t find out exactly what wrong with it because that would be another extra. Then got charged $13 to have my battery charged up, not to mention he disconnected a hose and left it hanging resulting in it getting a hole burnt into it when the car was turned on to have it moved. Also, the sarcastic comments weren’t necessarily.

Took my car today for the first time and they managed to find the issue and fix it real quick. I was worries that my car would have a big issue but thankfully it ended up being an easy fix :) Definitely recomment their services!!!

Bruce is a rare find in the world of auto mechanics! He is HONEST and only does work that your vehicle actually needs. Prices are fair and he took the time to explain the issues with my car to me, without me having to ask. He wanted to make sure I understood what was going on and what was needed. I 100% recommend Bruce and Carrollwood Auto Repair to anyone looking for honest, exceptional service. As a female with little knowledge about cars and how they work, it can be very difficult to find an honest company to do work on my vehicle. I went in believing I had an oil leak and ended up spending less than $50.00 to fix the issue. This is a trustworthy company and you won’t be disappointed giving them your business. 1-25-24: Came back to update my review because Google won’t allow me to leave a second. Bruce is a genuinely wonderful human being who diagnosed my car and refused to take a dime for the diagnosis because the news wasn’t good. He took me step by step through the process of filling my brake fluid and was so incredibly kind to me. He also managed to fit me in basically same day when he was booked solid for a week straight. This is the guy you want to fix your car. People like this really don’t exist anymore and you should jump at the chance to have Bruce as your mechanic!

I have been taking my automobiles to Carrollwood Auto Repair for several years now based on the recommendation of my best friend, who has taken all of her cars to Bruce for several years as well. Bruce is trustworthy and repair services are fairly priced. I have on occasion, been informed that my car needed repairs and when taken to Bruce for a second opinion, was informed it was not the case. I highly recommend Carrollwood Auto Repair for all car repair needs!
