Had some car trouble during a recent cross country move where all indicators on my car lit up the dash at the same time. I scheduled a last-minute appointment and they got in to see me. They were very polite and up front about their procedures and the cost of diagnostics versus repairs. They were able to reset the onboard computer and were kind enough to waive all diagnostic and repair costs. Would definitely return if I were still living in Chicago!

They are kind until you don't apeal their fault. If you apeal or make a complaint, they become very rude. Even though they made a wrong inspection.

Made an appointment and the store manager called an 1.5 before the appointment and asked if I can come in on a Thursday at 8.30am. I show up there and spoke the manager and he claim there was no appointment made. I talked to the same raspy voiced man over the phone. Customer service claims that is is not a corporate own location so they can't refund. Please beware of the scam. Don't go to CarX. Much better service and care at locally owned mechanic workshop. I called customer service they claimed they can't help because this store is more part of the franchise.

Manager Sam is polite and efficient, and got me in at a convenient time for my oil change. However, while driving away and getting my regular TPMS reading, I noticed my tires were over inflated by ~10 PSI. I brought it right back, they showed me on their meter that it was actually at the recommended amount of ~35, and claimed that my TPMS was wrong. However, still concerned while driving around Chicago, I took a reading of my own with the inflator/meter that I keep in my trunk, and it was consistent with the TPMS. I know it's accurate, because when I've filled my tires at a gas station the reading is always consistent with my own device. Therefore, they put me in a dangerous situation due to their meter being wrong. I don't believe anything was done maliciously; however they must fix this equipment before someone gets in a serious accident due to overinflation. Thankfully I quickly researched how to deflate my tires and got them to an acceptable level. It's a shame, because everything else about my experience was great, but nothing can get in the way of vehicle safety, and I'm compelled to leave a low rating due to this.

My first time at this location. There was a noise coming from the front of my car. They explained to me what was going on and what they had to do to fix it. The price was fair. Everybody was respectful, and the job was done right!

Sam and his team have always been absolutely great. Very patient with my elderly mom & always doing only what is needed for our cars. They do great work and are great communicators. We’re very loyal to them with everything we do!

I just moved to the area and wanted to find a reliable spot to take my vehicle. With a newborn and a need to stay local, It can be uneasy to change up car maintenance routine but I was grateful to know that I was in good hands here. Muy desagradable la atención, llego a este lugar después de manejar 30 min de otro pundo de car-x tire & auto y que tampoco instalan las llantas por que no tienen la maquina adecuada ahora tengo que ir hasta desplanes el día de mañana 12 de octubre para que mas instalen allí y volver hacer el trabajo de ellos en llevar las llantas en mi carro y manejar casi 1 hora, creo que ya no tomaré el servicio de alineación de mi carro buscare en otro lugar

I recently took my car in to the Irving Park location for a couple minor things. I wanted an oil change and I needed them to fix a slow leak in one of the tires. They said the valve stem which have sensors on them nowadays was bad. They put an "after market" valve stem on and after driving it for 1week, the indicator light still detected a slow leak. I took it back in. They said the one they installed was defective. So they put another one on. The indicator light on the dashboard never went out. So I came back again. They said the after market one that they put on was probably defective also. So they said they would put on a factory replacement one. So after another week of driving and the indicator light still was on I took it back in. I told them it was probably the tire and not the valve stem. They took the tire off again and examined it, and came to the conclusion that the tire was bad. If they would have examined the tire in the first place they would have discovered this, instead of just assuming it was the valve stem. I paid $60 for the valve stem that I didn't need and I still have a slow leak. They were supposed to rotate my tires also as part of the oil change. This was not done. They said they rotated them but it was NOT DONE. Now I'm wondering if they even changed the oil and just said they did. I honestly can NOT RECOMMEND this place. ✴️ Added the following on 8/23/2024. Turns out the tire leak problem was not a bad tire as Car X said. It was just a slow leak where the tire meets the rim. It just needed to be taken off and re-seated on the rim. Only $20 from some honest guys. Car X, you failed another diagnosis

Needed new tires, Nelson and his team were able to get them for me same day! Had an appointment somewhere else, but they kept pushing my appointment saying tires were not in. Car-X had them within an hour of me contacting them. Thanks!!!! Will be my go to place for my car needs.

Couldn't have had a better experience. Needed diagnosing on my old Honda and they were far more reasonable on the price than surrounding shops. Everyone there was down to earth and honest. Left with a full breakdown of everything I needed to work on and couldn't recommend these guys enough. Great to know I have service like this a block from my place!

Family came from out of town and the van they where driving starting to make a grinding noise from brakes , the where able to take us in in short notice and look at the brakes , even though they found that all was good and probably just excessive brake dust , they clean the pads an didn’t charge us anything , now that is customer service .

First off I went to the location on Ashland and Fullerton to get a noise checked out in my car and they directed me to the location here on Irving Park because they were “a bigger shop” the first shop told me the second location could take a look for free. I called the second shop before I went just to make sure they could do it before I made the 20 minute drive over there. They told me yes to bring it on in. I get to the second location and I’m met with a young man that seemed to be in a snobby mood. I told him I had called beforehand cause I wanted to get this loud annoying buzzing looked at. He tells me I would need to pay a $99 diagnostic fee for my car to be looked at in any regard. At this point I’m kinda frustrated because the guy at the first location at least listened to the sound. This second guy flat out told me no I need to pay the $99. I asked if he could at least listen to it just to see if he had any ideas/leads for me to research into about it. He told me “I can.. but I’m not going to.” The customer service and attitude I received was very poor and I’ll never try doing business here again

This location is amazing. I've been taking all of my cars to Nelson and his team for over 10 plus years. Today, they really made my morning. I came in for a repair of my heat shield, not only did they provide quick service, they want above and beyond. Thanks guys!

"Stay away from this branch." They wrecked my car and unapologetically charged me for the part they messed up, along with an absurd labor cost. They damaged the wheel lug nut while removing and then ask me to pay for their mistake without even apologizing, just by saying it was over-tighten!!. And get this, they wanted $173 just to replace a wheel screw worth of less than 3$ and took less than 10 minutes!

A fantastic repair shop for all my auto needs. I’ve been coming over 20 years. Nelson the manager is incredibly knowledgeable and totally trustworthy. I’ve always been completely satisfied with the work and was always confident that they did the work that was needed, without unnecessary additional work.

I love them. I moved out of state 5 yrs ago. Happen to be visiting home for a family emergency. Had tire issues while on the road there, and they squeezed me in during their busiest hour to check out my car. The only people I trust with my car, since I've been going to them for years. Sorry that I didn't get to see Nelson though 😞

I'm pretty sure management has changed...I went in for a basic oil change- they overfilled the oil and break fluid, didn't check or fill up any of the fluid levels, didn't check wipers, air filters etc. Took it to another shop for a quote and to verify the work and they found the air filter not only needed to be replaced, but there was black mold. Had brake pads and rotors replaced elsewhere as well for 25% less...

This shop stole more than $440 of my money, and junked my car that was worth about $1,500 without my knowledge. Although I have tried repeatedly to resolve this issue, I have literally been ignored for months. The manager, Nelson is a crook that stole my money. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau but the shop has not responded. Do not bring your car here! They cannot be trusted. I have called customer service as suggested, and received no response, just as I received no response from dozens of calls to Nelson at the shop. After more than 20 years of giving Carx my business, they junked my car! Still no response from customer service after weeks of waiting. This company has no respect for its customers - stay away! I had to give one star to post this review, but they deserve none.

We’re a heating and cooling company and had one of our service van tires go flat due to a screw in it. These guys were very helpful, friendly and professional in assisting us with our issue. They had to move some stuff around to fit us but they got it done. Special thanks to Noah!
