I brought my vehicle to Central Auto Repair & Electric for an electrical issue. The technician recommended replacing every filter, which would have cost me hundreds of dollars. However, I had just changed all the fluids and filters the week prior. It's disappointing that the technician didn't bother to check the condition of the filters before suggesting unnecessary service. This lack of due diligence raises concerns about the shop's trustworthiness.

I was referred from the Jiffy Lube Manager Willy and Matt from the Central and Edgemoor location in Wichita, Ks. for my service on my 4x4 Drive 2007 Chevy Silverado. The services I RECEIVED from Central Auto Repair & Electric was SUPERIOR IN EXCELLENCE and EXECUTION! The time spend spend on my truck was valued as a HIGH CLIENT! They took the time to review every issue and resolve the issue I had Mechanically and Electronically. I took a vehicle here with a electrical issue. That had just been to the dealership from where it was sold from and they proceeded to tell me they fixed the same issue that this auto shop claims they charged me $800 to fix two wires with two pin connectors that were already fixed and replaced a week prior to and wrongful diagnosis of issue and overall cause of electrical problems with the car they do not know anything about electrical systems if you want to get hustled and the runaround then by all means go here however if you want honest and reliable work that has warranty and not be overcharged then go elsewhere because this place will most definitely overcharged you I've had multiple other friends and family members have the same experience unaware to it I took my vehicle to the shop but now after asking around after the situation I even asked the owner what was done and a full out print out of what was performed for the charges for I have the knowing of how they are charged out from being a mechanic myself once upon a time and working on flag rate hours and what the dealership or overall price would cost to do things the reason I know those two wires were done right and good is because I did them not to mention the dealership had claimed that they retired and replaced and fixed them twice right before going to the shop so either wrong diagnosis or they are just overcharging and hassling people I think it's both beware consumers

Please if you don't listen to all the other reviews listen to mine and do not take your vehicle here they are scam artists and don't have any skilled mechanics and if you have an electrical issue don't let the name deceive you on their billboard because they can't do electrical one bit

My truck was stolen and then recovered. The theives did wiring damage plus other damage to it. Firestone on Kellogg referred me to them because they were wiring experts. I called, explained and sent pictures the best I could to get a rough estimate. I then took it in for them to thoroughly look at it. They knew the theives had cut wires and we weren't sure of the damage done, but as they went through it they kept me informed and I authorized the repairs. $4,261 dollars later, I go to pick up my truck and the blinkers don't work period and I have no hazard lights. They want to charge me another 300ish dollars to diagnose it. To me this is wrong, they knew there were wires cut and other things wrong, and at the end of the day their "courtesy check" didn't even find that the blinkers or hazards didn't work. I spoke with Keith twice and he promised to return my call today and he did not. I feel bamboozled and wronged. After 4 thousand dollars I should have blinkers and hazards. They wouldn't even offer for me to bring it back and let them look at it without charging me 300 dollars. It's not right and it's certainly no way to keep or gain business.

A very crooked company. I took my vehicle in on a Wednesday and called Thursday, Friday AND Monday after 4:00. Each day they told me it was going to get looked at but never did. After calling Monday and saying I’d like to find another company and pick my vehicle up they said that was fine and 15 minutes later I got a phone call saying they suddenly had looked at it. They then tried to charge me $344 AFTER saying nobody had looked at it. With poor notes not even diagnosing the problem but rather stating they took it on a short drive and saw nothing wrong. That’s not a diagnosis! After going back and forth they finally came down ti $170 which even then I shouldn’t have paid but did. I took it to another company that diagnosed it in less than 24 hours and found the issue. When I called back to get back my $170 since they obviously didn’t put time or effort into the diagnosis the owner did not make it right and would not refund me, he hung up on me instead. This place is very dishonest and I do not recommend.

Central Auto Repair and Electric Is more than what I have been looking for in an auto repair shop. Honesty is #1 to me and they exceed my standards in that respect and beyond. Very friendly and professional service. Genuinely sincere and knowledgeable in regard to customers vehicle maintenance and repair concerns. I recommend Central Auto Repair and Electric for all your vehicle maintenance and repair but don’t take my word for it. Check them out for yourself and I’m sure you would agree. The last time I visited this business was like in 2019 or so. They did extensive analyzation and discovered various electric issues and got them figured out. This past week, I bought my truck back to them as it was running extremely bad. I met Tamizin and she walked me through this process of understanding costs, parts, advice, and quality workmanship. I highly recommend this shop. Very professional and honest in my book! Keith, I haven't met you, but we'll work on it. Oh, by the way, I know that a lot of us are going through rigid times with finances and life. Well, they have and offer easy financing options if needed. Just like Macarthur said, I'll be back! Thank you, folks, for getting my truck back on the road!

The receptionist person was reasonably friendly which I appreciate but they wanted $170 just to look at my cars front end. I am so thankful I was able to get it into Frank's automotive a couple businesses to the south that morning. He offered to do a simple front end check for $52.50. It simply needed an alignment so he waived the $52.50 and my car was back to new for under $80. I am so thankful I didn't wasted $170 for a simple front end check with these people. Moral of the story go to Frank's. 🤟

Trash company made me pay $350 to look at electrical lines didn't even dive into problem. also wanted $2000 to wire a cluster when my buddy took my care he wired it for $280 also fixed old wiring issues and took out wires that didn't belong due to engine swap shop is trash would not recommend unless you got like $3000 to spend on wiring. also don't do the diagnosis its a scam and they take your money without doing any work at all. they couldn't even locate what was causing my gauge fuse to pop and all it was was my fan being ran into the fuse box causing my fuze box to use to much power and popping the fuse. all due to my electrical fan being plugged into my fuse circuit incorrectly paid $350 AND THEY COULNDT EVEN FIND THE ISSUE SO YEAH NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE EVER UNLESS YOU WANT THEM TAKING ALL YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!

Had a great experience,as i was having issues with trailer brake wiring. They gave me an estimate range and fell right in the middle of it. They also noticed that radiator overflow tank was empty and offered a pressure check service. The office lady was very polite and professional. They got me fixed up and back on the road. Yeah don’t bother with these guys towed my truck to the shop hoping they would replace certain wiring in my truck only for the EXACT same wire i had issues with to burn out on me the same day i got it out frankly I don’t know who they think they are trying to charge 170 for a diagnostic. Came in for a circuit problem. Tricked me into performing a smoke leak test that has nothing to do with a circuit fault. They charged me $500 for testing and did not find the problem. Took the same car to the "dumbwireguy" on W 13th st and it took him only 30 minutes to figure out that I needed a new Engine computer. Replaced the Engine computer and my problem was solved. Please save yourself time and money by not going to this shop. Go see the dumbwireguy!

Tami and the whole crew at Central Auto are AMAZING! Their communication was outstanding, always keeping us updated on repairs needed and what the cost would be before they did the work. They were also very fairly priced. We can't say enough about how great our experience was with them. We are definitely customers for life!
