My car shut down late on a Sunday night, had it towed to Central and I dropped the keys in their mail slot with a note. They called me before 7:30 AM with a full description of the problem, a price estimate and an expected time the job would be complete (later that day). They completed the work as promised and I had my car back Monday afternoon. The cost was appropriate. I am really grateful for this place. They came through clutch when I needed them.

I had a state inspection done on my car on 8/14/2023 it didn’t pass at fist so I repair all the things they told me to repair. I thought that all the necessary repairs needed to pass where completed September 12 ,my right front ball joint broke when driving and said ball joint separating took out my cv shaft and cost me a tow bill , now I understand things go wrong on vehicles but in this time frame I imagine a worn ball joint would have would have been noticeable had it been properly inspected

I have utilized central service and repair continuously over the past 25 years. I work downtown and usually drop my car off on the morning for service and it will be ready by the afternoon. This is a true family business with three generations of mechanics that do quality work and stand behind it. I recommend them highly.

I never post reviews for anything really, but I felt obligated to post this one because they always go above and beyond. Living in Fells Point, Central Service & Repair has been our go-to local auto-mechanic for over 13 years. Len and his crew are super knowledgeable, honest, and incredibly customer focused - to the point where they’ll send us elsewhere if they don’t have the capability. They have helped us out in a pinch more times than we can count! Timely customer service, quality work, and all at a great price. Highly recommended. Many many thanks!

I cannot say enough good things about this place. Every time I have had an issue with my car I've only had great experiences with this shop handling any questions or concerns I have. They take their time and do quality work. Their prices are also fair! 10/10 would recommend them to anyone.

My starter died and i needed it fixed asap. I called the shop and was able to drop my car off within an hour and they had it fixed within 4 hours. They were polite, professional, reasonably priced, and quick.

I called this morning to ask if I could bring my car in for a MD state inspection and they said yes. I dropped it off around 9:30am and they did the inspection right away. I went back to pick it up and it was quick and easy. Len was nice. I will definitely be back when I need other services for my car.

I was having difficulty putting air in my tires and I gave them a call. They took my right away to help me out and didn’t even charge me. Really nice local people. I will definitely give them my business next time I’m in need of an oil change. Thank you again!

I would give them a zero if I could. Very Rude. The guy Len started yelling at my wife in the office because she was questioning a charge on my bill. They charged her an extra 95$ to remove tint on 2 front windows. We never agreed to the charge. He worded it in such a way that implied it was free of charge- "don't worry we can remove it for you"- since they were already charging her for an inspection , she went along with it. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM- especially if you're a female. They will take full advantage of you and bully you with their loud voices. Just go elsewhere, don't even bother.

I’ve taken both my cars to them for basic oil changes as well as repairs, and they are great to deal with. Recently, had an issue driving to work and pulled into the station. They had it fixed that day and even showed me the part that broke. I highly recommend this shop if you work or live in the Harbor East area.

Please avoid this place!! This place treated my car in an extremely rude way. Went there for a MD inspection. Half day later, when I picked up my car, it could not be started any more. Then I witnessed the gentleman there to treat my car like a piece of garbage, forcing all parts like the wheel and shiftier extremely hard. Please do your lovely car a favor by going to another place.

never go to this place $89 dollars for oil change i pay $30 for the same service ..... they will not tell u the price in advance becouse if they do costumer will leave with out service it just speechless

Ever since I've moved to Baltimore from Cincinnati in 1993, I bought a Toyota truck in 1996 and Len Young and the folks at Central Service have repaired my vehicle. My father was a car mechanic and they have the same precision as my father when working on cars and trucks. They have given me GREAT service and the guy that had his gas cap lost....well, you must have gotten off on shakey footing with Len. His garage is as good as it gets, and his prices are VERY fair. I wouldn't take my truck anywhere else.

AVOID THIS PLACE at all costs. Brought my car in because it wouldn’t start and James told me that they had googled the issue and he was 90% sure that the problem was a cam sensor. After quoting me for $400 worth of repairs they called the next day and said that they had tried the sensors and it they still couldn’t figure out the problem. I asked how much I owed and they told me my total was $200 for labor and $89 for a computer reading. When I got to the location I asked if they had the old plugs and I was told that they had been thrown away. I then inquired on why I was being charged for $200 if they didn’t replace anything and their reply was that they spent several hours experimenting with different parts. I’m no mechanic but I do know that the dealership charges $100 for a diagnostic like most other places. Had they actually inspected the vehicle I probably wouldn’t have had to get it towed to the dealership. The dealership told me the fuel pump needed to be replaced and that it should have been an easy repair. James and the owner were VERY rude and highly recommend going elsewhere for your auto repair needs. I am a struggling college student and I feel like I was profiled and taken advantage of. Definitely reporting to the better business bureau. This place is unprofessional and they will take your money if you let them. DON’T BE ANOTHER VICTIM!!!!
