Did a great job on my old truck! Nobody else would touch it but this shop didn’t even blink an eye and charged me way less than the shops that gave me estimates and then refused to take the vehicle (it’s a mess, so I get it which is why I appreciate this shop more!).

David is fantastic! Do not bother going anywhere else. He is friendly, dependable, honest, and PATIENT. He wasn't bothered by all the questions I had (on the phone and in person -- I called him twice). He took the time to explain what was wrong with my car in detail and he provided me with guidance on how to better care for it. I was in and out on the same day -- diagnostics, fuel pump repairs, ordering parts, oil change, tire rotation, and emission testing! Don't be put off by the initial diagnostic fee ($100), it is well worth it. Some places I called charge $50 - $65 but they did not have anywhere near the quality of customer service that David has. You will be treated like a human and not just a client number like some of these other repair shops. I'm so happy to have had his services recommended to me by a fellow mom.

David is very knowledgable, honest, AND offers rates I feel are really affordable. He knows so much and took the time to explain just about everything to me, yet at the same time didn't try to upsell me on anything at all. He is a nice person who not only goes above and beyond in his work but also in that he actually cares about his clients. Thank you David.

Best shop in Tucson, David is honest , trustworthy, and very knowledgeable about what he does. His customer service skills are impeccable. It was always a pleasure doing business with him he is my go-to mechanic in Tucson.

Once you find a quality mechanic - someone who’s honest, trustworthy, and delivers a reliable service - you want to keep him forever. I promise this is how you will feel about David at Champ’s Auto Repair. To preface this review - I’ve struggled with too many mechanics who do patchwork jobs, tell me I need more work done than is necessary, and charge me 3x more than they do a man (this has happened multiple times, which is why I feel that a good, honest mechanic is extremely rare and hard to find). The owner of Champ’s fit me in, diagnosed my car, had parts delivered and my car fixed - all in the same day. He didn’t try to prematurely upsell me on anything (like nearly all others do, including big box stores!). He delivered quality work at a surprisingly affordable price (although I wouldn’t be surprised if he raises his rates judging by how busy he is - I hope he does, he’s worth it). I was also impressed to see that he was working on several Amazon vehicles, and nearby local businesses were working with him too, which I feel speaks to the capability, versatility, and reliability of his work. At the same time, people in the neighborhood were walking by, waving and addressing him by name. It feels like he’s the neighborhood mechanic and is friends with everyone. He’s just a genuinely nice person. Also notable: He has several certifications, which made me feel comfortable knowing he was trustworthy, and again I’m surprised he doesn’t charge more with that level of training and expertise. It’s been several months now and my car is still running great! All of this has me convinced that I’ve found the best mechanic in Tucson. If you’re looking for the most trustworthy, honest, reliable mechanic in the city - you can end your search. You’ve just found him.

I failed emissions and decided to to enroll in the state provided program which will pay up to $900 to get your vehicle repaired to pass emissions with a $100 deductible. I chose Champs because it was the closest facility to me and im glad I did. David was awsome, he had my truck repaired and running great in just 1 day within the $900 allotment. I took it back through emissions today and it passed with flying colors. Big thanks to David I will be going back for other vehicle needs.

I visited Champ's for the first time and am sure to return. I found Champ's through a coupon for a discounted oil change on the back of a Safeway receipt. David Lopez, the owner of Champ's, did it all and then some in one short hour. David is a one-man, two shop bay operation. He took my call, made my appointment, did all the work himself and was a pleasure to chat with from start to finish. But it doesn't end there, not only did David perform the oil change, but he also rotated the tires and did an overall inspection of the vehicle without me even asking. These additional services were mentioned on the coupon but the fact that he did them no charge without my asking demonstrates what a thorough, conscientious and hard worker he is! Usually these kind of complimentary inspections are followed by a laundry list of recommended repairs. Not here. David didn't recommend anything be done at all and instead he described two little things that I should watch for in the coming two years. The man is not only an excellent mechanic, HE'S HONEST!!! I highly recommend this little shop near Stone and Grant. David has now become my GO-TO mechanic. Thanks for a great job.

My car got declined for a emissions test, and I signed up with the state program for free, where they pay up to $900 to keep you in the road, with a $100 deductible. David is the owner of this new business off Grant and Stone, and got it done in a day, n saved me a ton! Highly recommended!

My check engine light was on. Had searched for help at other shops when I was recommended to try Champs. I was very happy David had my car up and running again in no time. As soon as he heard my engine he knew where to look. He did a great job and I will be returning and referring my friends.
