This is the BEST shop in the bay area!! Have been here so many times, Kham and his crew have so much knowledge and skill I wouldn’t trust my family driving in a car they didn’t fix! There is no greater feeling than knowing you are in good hands, getting a good deal and not getting ripped off! These guys deserve every good review they have. Took my car in for a drive belt change and some new brakes, and they gave me a fair price. They also gave me a heads up on future repairs needed at no cost. Great communication with pictures of each thing as they fixed it, and great explanation of what was wrong and why. The most remarkable thing was what happened after, though. Two days later, my fiancé got into an accident with the vehicle, completely taking out the driver side light, fender, bumper, and hood. Not only did they make room for me in my time of need, but they also managed to do the job for way below the range of their initial estimate. It turned out to be 300 dollars cheaper than their lowest range estimate. They could have easily marked up those parts and made an extra 300, and I would not have complained, but they didn't. They were honest, helpful, and went above and beyond at every step. They even gave me a ride home after I dropped it off and worked with me on a payment plan. These are some good guys, and I'm recommending them to everyone I know.

They won’t install personal parts, which is nonsense. Most mechanics will install a part for you if you’ve bought it from another vendor or even Amazon. Clearly they just want to mark up the price on the parts. Steer clear of this shop.

I cannot say enough about Tane and the entire experience at Community Auto. I've been going there for years, and would not go anywhere else. I trust the service and care there. Tane, the owner and the other mechanics are excellent, communicative, friendly and wonderful. The prices are very reasonable, always fair, and I have full faith in their work. I tend to drive my vehicles into the ground, real "work horses", and Community Auto keeps me safe on the road!

Tane does great care for my vehicle! He’s been wonderful as well with meeting the needs of my car in an affordable way for me and being honest and up front with what’s best for my car to keep it running well. Community Auto is the best. Tane and his crew are very knowledgeable and honest. I feel fortunate to have someone I can trust work on my car. Tane guessed my issue, tested it and found that was the issue, and fixed it for a reasonable price. 100% would recommend to anyone

I just had my first experience with Kam and Community Auto Center, and I’m super impressed. I took my car in for a power window repair. Kam immediately noticed that some body work on my car was loose and fixed it immediately for free. He figured out my window issues pretty quickly, and charged me super fairly for it ($120). He also noticed that my car was missing some interior fender wells. He recommended getting them replaced, and did the research on sourcing replacements. He wasn’t pushy at all about it, just gave me then info. My favorite mechanic in the bay by far!

I have been going with Tane for years now. Tane is very professional, honest, and explains thoroughly what is going on with the car. He also doesn’t take advantage and tells you when it’s best to make the changes needed in the car to only spend what is needed. I have been recommending him to my friends and family. He is the definition of a “ community” mechanic; always willing to help and do honest work.

I have always had a good experience here, and Kham is great... he’s very friendly and knowledgeable. He tries to fix the problem with the least expensive option first! The prices are fair, and the services are quick. I would definitely recommend!

Finding a friendly, reliable and professional auto care place is rare, but Community Auto Center checks all those boxes. I've been bringing my cars here for the past few years and won't take my cars anywhere else. And since COVID, they've done an outstanding job of taking care of their customers with safety in mind. I brought my car in last week and everyone wore masks and they even wiped down every surface after they finished. If your car needs work in Oakland, look no further.

Man, these guys are the real deal. Their rates are very fair, very reasonable, and they went the extra mile for be-- gameplanning multiple options & quotes, price comparison if new/used parts, and walked me through several options like a state rebate for my hybrid that I didn't know I had. Truly grateful for such a top level team so close to home.

Sometimes we take our frustration out on the wrong ones. Often it's the ones who show you the most love. I must admit it does take the bigger man to apologize.
