I have an appointment to have my tires balanced and rotated. It's from 12:15 to 1 p.m. That should mean I'm in at 12:15, out at 1. In reality, the clerk goes to lunch at 12:15 and I stand there for eleven minutes before my car is accepted. That's bad enough. It's not a walk up; it's an appointment. Why is it acceptable that I have to wait? Don't offer a 12:15 appointment if it's not convenient. I can get over the initial wait if the job is done timely, but here I am, well over an hour later, and they haven't even started on the car.

Always super disorganized and a long wait. They don’t answer the phone and there’s often no one behind the desk. It’s really not worth the hassle.

I dont take poor reviews lightly so heed my advice. The savings and great warranty aren't worth the hassle. Really poor customer service in this department. The phones aren't answered. The online appointment times are never on time, and you have to wait to drop off your keys in a long line when you arrive for your appointment. This is the only part of costco that honestly needs a hard looking at and reworking by upper management. A tire rotation takes 2+ hours every time, even with the appointment. Check the reviews and save yourself the headache. I will tell anyone I speak to that they need to avoid this company with tires. Also, they sell Interstate Batteries but the lnterstate Battery building is super nearby so send your money there instead, they have phenomenal service and prices. Costco DO BETTER.

I generally appreciate Costco and the customer service I receive. This year, had a terrible experience with Costco tires at the Westfall Road, Rochester, NY store. Here was my experience. 11/13/24: Bought tires and wheels at Costco online. 11/14/24: Tires arrived at Costco. 11/20/24: Wheels arrived at my home. 11/20/24: Used online tool to schedule my appointment with a note to install TPMS sensors. 11/24/24: Arrived ahead of time for my appointment. Learned then that they didn’t have TPMS sensors available for my car. Was told they should be in within 1-2 days. Was told they would call me on Tuesday or Wednesday with an update. 11/27/24: Never received a call. 11/28/24 and 11/29/24: Called multiple times and Costco Tire center never answered the phone, except for once when they picked up and seemed to place the phone on the counter (presumably so people would stop calling). 11/29/24: Went to Costco in person to ask about TPMS because they never called as they committed. Learned they still didn’t have sensors available for my car. 12/1/24: Called multiple times and Costco Tire Center never answered the phone. 12/2/24: Went in person to the store again to ask about TPMS. Sensors were still not available, and they had no idea about when they would arrive. Because of the delay, the Costco team member at the counter advised me to buy my own sensors. 12/2/24: Ordered pre-programmed TPMS as recommended by the Costco team member. 12/6/24: Received pre-programmed TPMS. 12/6/24: Went in-person to make the appointment. A different Costco team member said they wouldn’t install my monitors, contradicting what I was told on 12/2. They did have sensors for my car available at that time. Made the appointment stating that I wanted tires, wheels, lug nuts, and sensors installed. 12/12/24: Dropped my car at 10a for my 3:15p appointment so they’d have time to get it completed. Explained again everything that was needed including where the new wheels, lug nuts, and four sensors were inside the car. This member (different from the other two) said that they may be able to install the ones that I purchased. Got confirmation that they would try to install my TPMS, but if not they would install the ones they had in stock. They said the car would be completed by 4:15p. I returned to Costco at 5:20p and they were still working on the car. Because I could see the car, it looked like they were installing the wrong wheels. At 5:35p, when the car was partially finished, I finally found someone and asked them to check on the wheels. As I suspected, they were installing new tires on the old, rusted steel wheels without TPMS. Team member said they’d go back and do it correctly. Waited in store while they fixed their mistake. At 6:15p, I was told that the car was almost complete except that one of the new lug nuts from Velox was faulty. Costco member said they installed one wheel with only four lug nuts so I would know which to fix. Was told the car would be done before 6:30p. Waited until 6:50p until I finally found someone to ask about where it was; turns out they forgot to tell me that it was done. TPMS faulty indicator light was on. Costco team member said to drive it and it will go away. Drove home, late for a 7p Zoom meeting. 12/13/24: Checked wheels. Turns out that they did not leave off one lug nut: All four wheels have five lug nuts, so now I don’t know which is wrong. Drove car about 80 miles that day. TPMS light remained on. 12/15/24: Emailed Velox about faulty lug nut 12/18/24: New lug nut arrived. 1/1/25: TPMS indicator remains on after over 500 miles. I’ve lost all faith in Costco Tire. I have no idea if the sensors are installed and not working or if they were never installed.

Horrible service! I waited 4 hours for them to put on 2 new tires. Which they had for the rear when I purchased tires for the front. Or so I was led to believe by the person who placed the order. They will NEVER service my vehicle again.😡

It should not take two days to get a flat tire fixed, especially since it is a service that they sell with the purchase of tires. Very dssappointed to say the least, and I took the tire off of my car and brought it in.

My 10:45AM reserved appointment on a Sunday morning didn’t make a difference, still waited 3 hours for 3 Costco-installed tires to be repaired that were purchased just 6 months ago. Includes a 16-minute wait just standing in line waiting to be seen. Staff were friendly, though, so I give this place 2 stars. Won’t be back if I can help it.

My appointment was at 315 i got there to find out they canceled my appointment due to a scheduling error without telling me or rescheduling to the same time so I get there they don't even take my keys until almost 4 and I have now been waiting for almost two hours

It truly is very hard to contact the tire center and even more difficult to get an near appt and even worse the appointments are way too far out and even more ridiculously hard if not impossible to be seen as a walking and even more so frustrating impossible to get it done within 2hrs even after you have an appt. Better off buying tire somewhere else-problem solved. Same story with costco tire canada.

Flat tire service took 2 hours and I couldn't spend the time in side of the store in Rochester NY. Even the technician picked up the key for the service afer two houres, still he didn't pull up my car.I can't find any good word for his kindness. Worst in the world.

I had the worst experience having a set of tires installed. They must have sent 10 reminders for me to be on time for my appointment. In fact, they say if you’re late, you could get canceled. So, I show up a bit early to make sure I will be able to have my tires installed. Upon arrival, the agent said that the tire installation would take about 1 hour. I returned in one hour and the car had just been taken in! I had no comfortable place to wait. I was absolutely miserable. I did not want to do a shop. That would have made it worse. Waiting with a basket of food in warm weather would not be smart. The tire installation was not ready for another hour. That means two hours after my installation appointment time. It turns out that they were taking walk-ins for repairs and doing those before servicing my vehicle. I was absolutely livid when I found out. Customers with appointments should be serviced first! Also, at some point, there was only one person handling the whole tire department. Even though the prices are good, I would not recommend getting tires at Costco. I’d rather pay a little bit more money and have better service.

This review is about customer service. We are traveling from California and needed a quick tire patch due to a nail puncture. The guy working at the tire department intake counter in the afternoon of 8/11/2023 was among the most unhelpful and abrasive Costco employees we have encountered anywhere. A Costco store in California,mounted and balanced the set of 4 new truck tires for an emergency repair on-the-spot. Yet this small market Costco told us to come back in 5 days for a simple patch job?? Needless to say, another tire store handled the repair in 20 minutes. Come-on Rochester Costco Tire Center: You can do better than that.

Don't use this place. A job that should be taking at most 40 minutes have taken more than 2 hours, and still waiting. Go somewhere else. Strongly not recommending... first experience at Costco tire center, potentially the last one..

I ordered tires and made an appt to have them installed 2 weeks later at 10AM, as soon as the store opened. Unfortunately, my vehicle wasn't taken in to be serviced until noon...two hours after what I thought was the first appointment of the day. I would strongly suggest searching for tires elsewhere as many comments reflect similar situations. The price of the tires alone are not enough to make me come back to the Rochester Costco Tire Center. Poor customer service...not typical of Costco.

Run!!!! I don’t care how cheap their prices are. Customer Service is impossible! They never answer the phone and appointments are a joke. Putting new tires on was a nightmare and I’d rather pay double the price than to go through that experience. One of the tires was defective and it took me over two months to contact them to schedule a repair time. It’s still not fixed correctly. I am so frustrated and cannot stress strongly enough that you should not buy your tires at Costco.

Took 2 hrs for a tire rotation even with an appointment mid day on a weekday. Car didn't even go into the bay until an hour after the appointment was scheduled. Hope you're not in a rush if you come here.

Good prices on tires. Subaru owners, go somewhere else. Idk what it is about costco, but in 3 states they managed to strip and break my lugnuts. They told me its "common with subarus." Never had that happen anywhere else. Today, I waited 5 hours to get my car on the lift, only to be called to tell me they broke one, and if they broke another, I'd have to have it towed. When I checked in I almost went somewhere else but bc no one was at the desk and the phone was ringing off the hook (that no one was answering) I decided to just let them do my car. Mistake I won't be making again.

Poor communication over many trips, wouldnt take old tires, didnt explain why they didnt install the old tpms on new tires or that i wouldve needed to purchase new ones and just left the gauge light on. I don't know much about cars but idk that anyone i worked with knows much more than i do. 🤷

These technicians have no idea what they're doing. Definitely don't get rims here if you own a Subaru. Went there multiple times bc they wouldn't put the new rims on without a part Subarus don't need. They're legally required to take our old tires but guess what were left on our old rims in the back seat when they were finally done? "Any junkyard will take them" can't believe I trusted that lmao. Turns out they didn't transfer the tpms readers either and then they offered to charge us $45 to put in new ones, very cool...

I decided to purchase a new set of tires from Costco's Tire Center about two years ago. The price was right, and I was able to shop while I waited. The tires come with a lifetime warranty that requires you to come in every 5,000 miles to get your tires rotated. This is a free service to everyone who purchases their tires through Costco. Not only is it an awesome deal, but I have had no issues with the crew. I did make the mistake of trying to get in on a Saturday without an appointment (try a weekday instead), but the guy at the counter helped me schedule an appointment for the following week and it all went smoothly. I haven't used their online scheduling tool, but I will definitely do that from now on, especially if I plan to come in on the weekend. Overall, 5 stars.

Outstanding prices on tires, decent selection, fast service. What may have impressed me most though is the Manager is out there helping the rest of the technicians getting it done ! That is very unusual for management to be doing something usual and not just flying a desk . Definite kudos for the tram effort !

Week 3 and still waiting for an acknowledgement of our order. We ordered online over 2 weeks ago, big mistake, the tire center in our local store can’t even look up the order status or give us a number to call. Online support is non existent and their automated customer service was no help. Extremely disappointed with the experience so far.

I trusted the technicians at Costco with my car, but they took advantage of that trust and broke my car. Yes the tires and service are cheaper, but they broke the arm rest off of my center console while moving my car. When I filled out an incident report the manager and insurance company told me they are not responsible for the damages. They told me I was lying about the damage being caused by the technicians, who claim they didn’t do it, and left me out 1,000s of dollars or repairs. Meanwhile they charged me 600 dollars for the tires.

The prices are good and the lifetime tire rotation is hard to beat. However, I can only give 2 stars because the customer service is poor. Ordered tires and was told it would take 1 week to come in and they would call. I did not receive a call. After 10 days I started to call. Despite trying to call at different times during the day, the tire center doesn’t answer the phone. I called today and still no answer from the tire center. I spoke to the administrative staff who was very polite but hung up on me. Costco can do better!
