We've used CutShaw for 8 years and the service has always been outstanding. Recently, we had a headlight out and we needed it working for a DMV Road Test. They fixed it immediately for us and we were able to complete the Road Test as scheduled. We highly recommend them!

Worst place in Richmond. They “fixed” (not) the same issue 3 times. I had to spend a lot of money to get someone to actually fix my car after I broke down on the side of the highway for the second time in a month. At this point I think they conned me into an unnecessary “repair” and continued to purposely mess it up. DO NOT GO HERE!!

I took my car in for some issues and they explicitly told me that they will leave the keys in the car and the door unlocked because I was picking it up after hours. They did not do this at all. I even called them to ensure they did this so i could leave with my car and mentioned this had happened before. This is the second time this has happened to me at this shop. It's a huge inconvenience and extremely simple. Christopher O. Was my mechanic both times this happened.

Last year had a good experience. This year in trying to get a car Inspection, it's always, I'm too busy, you can only bring it whenever we feel like and you have to drop it off. Not many people can drop off their car. According to the front desk that all the clientele they serve can drop the car off and then she proceeds to tell me this is not the right shop for you then. Just the worst experience this morning. So word of advice unless you a well off otherwise they won't service your car. I truly had faith in this one but today proved that this shop is now just catering to a certain socioeconomic class.

BEWARE! Took in for state inspection, was quoted over $1,000 for repairs? Uh…Hell no. Took elsewhere for a second opinion and what do ya know? Passed inspection, no issues. Hmmm 🤔 Will not return and would never recommend. What a scam.

I came in without an appointment for a noise coming from my belt and pulley. They were able to take my car in and finish it within 2 business days. They fixed it perfectly and didn’t charge me extra for the problems they ran into (old car, lots of rust). The customer service is excellent with Shawn at the front desk! Edit: Note the response, these people maintain unprofessionalism and uphold a streak of poor quality work. Move on? These people stole my money and promised me that they had found the problem and fixed my car. I went to experts and they noted poor installation and use of incorrect parts. Due to this my car was in a junkyard 2 weeks after Cutshaw Automotive worked on it. I was a kid in college I went to them and asked them to make it better and they refused. It took me months to recover. They say move on, but have reached out to me trying to antagonize me? Which was the only reason I posted the first edit. These are NOT good people. I will continue to yell it from the rooftops. Edit: Take close attention to how they respond to negative reviews. They do not care and cannot take accountability for the sloppy work. 9 months have past and I am still disgusted by how they treat their customers. If you read the negative reviews they all have similar notions, they are shady and the work is unimpressive at best. GO ANYWHERE ELSE DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE A DIME. I want to be fair, but these people really put me in a poor position. I believe they are a good shop for and oil change, spark plugs, or other light general work (Valvoline or shell station type work). I had a significant issue with my car rough idling and not starting, they claimed to be able to find the problem and fix the problem. They fixed something that was not broken charged me a hefty bill for it. When the car proved to have the same issue they said they no longer felt confident working on my car, not to mention when first returned the car was leaking from the fuel tank. They referred me to a specialist who confirmed they had incorrectly diagnosed the issue and either used the wrong part or installed it incorrectly. By the time they went to fix this shops mistakes my car was too far gone. The specialist shop encouraged me to speak with Cutshaw and they were unhappy to hear me out and unwilling to work with me. Overall left a nasty taste in my mouth and would suggest avoiding the hassle and finding a shop that is a more knowledgeable and have better customer service. If you have a Volvo not only I but Cutshaw themselves suggest JMS Auto on broad.

I took my car for a state inspection and they fixed a burned out light above my license plate. They were very kind, professional, and prompt. Ashley was great! She was so personable and informative. I will definitely be back and will also inform my friends.

I can't comment on the repair work they do, I just wanted to echo other reviews that communicattion and lack of professionalism is very much a problem here. I feel like they rush through jobs when no actual repairs are being done. I had a simple diagnostic, and imo it was overpriced, but that's not even my real problem. If I'm gonna pay for a diagnostic I should get a thorough explanation of what was done. There should be a conversation. All I got about a sentence long explanation, and had to hear everything second hand. If I didn't ask my own questions i would have paid that money for basically nothing. Sometimes it's nice to be able to actually hear from the mechanic who worked/looked at your car. I don't mind mechanics who aren't in a good mood. I just want straight answers especially for almost 200 dollars. I just don't feel they pay good attention to cars they aren't working on, and really need to learn how to talk to people.
