This place is great! The guys working there are so friendly, I feel comfortable asking all the questions I need to and they explain everything in such a helpful way. Prices are reasonable and the service is quick! Will definitely be going back if I need something done with my car.

I’ve had an amazing experience with Dave’s Automotive. As a women, I am always a bit cautious when I need to bring my car in of what they will try to sell me, but not here. They did a great job explaining what needed to be fixed and what that did for the car so I could understand. Mark was super helpful trying to get my warranty company to cover as much as possible. He told me that I had rental car coverage and can get reimbursed, which I wouldn’t have even know and just paid out of pocket. Highly recommend!

We love Dave’s!! We’ve been taking our Mercedes there for a few years now and they are always friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. They give detailed reports and make sure you understand what’s going on with your vehicle. We’ve had bad experiences with other mechanics in the past but Dave’s has never made us feel pressured to have something done or feel as though we are overpaying. I recommend Dave’s Ultimate Automotive to everyone!

I have recommend Dave’s to all of my friends. I am beyond pleased with my experience. My sprinter van broke down and I called Dave’s in a panic. I had never been there before and had no rapport with any of the mechanics. Despite that, Keith treated me as if I’d been going there for years! I really appreciated that my concerns were heard and that I was educated on what was happening with my vehicle. 10/10 experience. All Dave employees are excellent, Keith particularly I can not recommend enough!

I’ve had my car serviced at Dave’s for several years. Daniel and Keith are very knowledgeable, courteous and never rush through answers to my questions as well as giving a thorough explanation of what needs to be done and timeframe needed. The invoice has always been the same as the initial quote. Once I requested some maintenance and Keith was honest in reminding me that it wasn’t yet time.

Called to get an estimate for a 4 wheel alignment on my model 3 Tesla.... Guy who answered told me if anyone but Tesla did the work it would void my vehicle warranty.... Absolute disinformation. Lost me for life, and I don't just drive a Tesla.

My mother took her vehicle here to get valve covert gaskets and plugs. The vehicle still leaked oil from the gaskets, so she took it back to have it warrantied. It's still leaking from the two external ones that you can see, and possibly from the internal ones you can't see until you take the valve cover off. They use an impact on the coils and stripped out the number 4 coils, so it can't be removed now. They stripped out the vanity cover, so one of those bolts won't come out either. All while saying you need new plugs again and wanted to charge her again for the plugs, that should be warranty. Needles to say 1300 she paid caused more damage and they fixed nothing. I'm calling another of their shops today to see if they will fix it. If not, it's time for court. This south first shop is shady. Hopefully, the others aren't. If they are, I'll see them in court. This is oil leaking from the valve covers the day after getting it out of their shop. Fresh shinny clean oil from a recent oil change. Tell me, would a sealed motor have oil on it like that? NO, it wouldn't Now, the gaskets, plugs, valve cover, vanity cover, and more will need to be replaced because they don't know how to fix cars.

I visited Dave’s South First on 6/12 as a repeat customer who brought my car in to get everything checked before back-to-back road trips of 1500 miles each. I asked to have the brakes checked in particular, given that it had been a long time since either set was replaced. The $400+ bill included charges for brake and power steering fluid changes, as well as a 65-point service check, which revealed no brake issues. Imagine my subsequent dismay when the rear brakes needed emergency replacement 10 days later, 200 miles into the first road trip, in the middle of nowhere with three animals in the car, on a burning hot Saturday afternoon when most shops are closed. The one shop that we thankfully found to be open, discovered the brake pads to be completely worn down to the rotors. They expressed surprise that the issue wasn’t spotted by Dave’s. “Surprised” doesn’t even begin to describe my reaction. The whole fiasco added 5 hours and almost $400 to our trip, not to mention a level of stress and worry that none of us in the car should have had to suffer. I don’t know what Dave’s could possibly do to make up for such an outrageous oversight, or what would even be appropriate for me to expect. I recounted this for them via email, but got no reply. Instead, today I received a notice of overdue service. ETA: The shop has since been in contact with me about my recent experience. We’ve traded messages, but have not actually spoken yet. I will update this review as soon as we do.

On edit (8/30/24): Dave’s is BEYOND the best! I had an issue with my e-brake that would have been an expensive pain in the neck to get repaired. And on the Friday before Labor Day holiday? Oh, that makes things even worse. But even though they are busy today, they found time for me and Joey D, the mechanic who helped me, was helpful and kind and patient. I love this shop. I will never go elsewhere. They are so kind, and so thorough in their work, and so neighborly—this is a local place, with their hearts right here in Austin—I will never go elsewhere. Thank you, Keith at the front desk, who got the ball rolling to have my car issue resolved, and thank you to Joey! Dave's Ultimate Automotive is THE BEST! My parking brake was not working, and this started up just in time for state inspection. I was anxious about it and felt very grateful when someone in one of my Facebook neighborhood groups asked about reputable brake repair places here in Austin. Dave's got enthusiastic reviews, so I decided to try this shop. They totally exceeded expectations. The front-line person who helped me, Mark, is a gem. So kind, so patient, so nice. Everyone in the front office jokes around, they have a good, mellow vibe, and they make you feel like everything is going to be fine. The repair was expensive--new brakes, essentially--but they were prompt, Mark kept me in the loop and was generous with explanations of things, and I got my car back with excellent new brakes. I also now have a trustworthy local shop where I feel comfortable and confident in their services. Thank you to everyone, from Mark and the friendly front-desk people to the mechanic who did such a great job on my car! (And yes, I did pass state inspection, no problems!) Highly recommend!

Car runs good but my hood is now unaligned will call tomorrow to see why when it was dropped off it was perfectly aligned, also I was quoted 834 , when I picked up vehicle price changed to 1154 smh I will not be returning if there’s another problem with my vehicle I be going somewhere else… In hindsight Travis called me the following day informing me of his team members mistake and made sure I received a portion of my money back and did realigned the hood of my vehicle, he said no matter what if a customer has been quoted a price that price should be honored when picking up the vehicle and I’m greatful for that.

Go literally anywhere else to get work done on your car. I wouldn't trust these guys to inflate my tires. I took my car took it Daves for a 150,000 mile check up. Had them do a complete check, bumper to bumper, telling them I needed to pass state inspection next month. They changed my rear breaks, power steering and break fluids and recommended getting all new tires. So to my surprise, a two weeks later my car doesn't pass state inspection, due to only the parking break not working. Well that's funny I just had this car in the shop, and reportedly my parking brake wasn't a issue. So I go back to Daves, and they order the parts next day. For the next 12 business days, they couldn't figure out how to re-assemble my parking break. I called the office 5 separate times over the 12 days asking for ANY update, and I was told by Daniel CONSISTENTLY, it would probably be ready in a few hours, but it never was. After 12 business days, I told them it was time for me take my car to an actual auto shop who could handle such a simple parking break. Shockingly, it got fixed the next day. And this isn't even the worst part. When I got my car back, my driver door and hinge were messed up. They took my door off to work on the car, (For a parking break?) and didn't even have decency to put it on back on the right way. When I confronted them about it, they acted like they didn't know how on earth it could have gotten loose. And then they kept it for another full day to "Fix it. The only reason I got my car back was because I came to the store at 7:30am and demanded they give me back my car on the second day. I had been a repeat customer. I had referred people to this shop. I'm not sure what happened, or who they have working on cars here, but holy cow has it taken a dive in both quality and customer service. I have no idea if they actually fixed my parking break. But they sure charged me for it. They say the have a warranty on their work, but you couldn't pay me to ever go back to this shop again.

My husband Joshua Owens took his car to this place and was told his car was ready to be picked up. He was told the total price for his repairs was $842.00. When he went to pick up his car they added an extra $300 making it a total of $1151. We were stuck with having to pay the extra charges in order to get our car back. They never informed us about the additional charges they waited for us to get there and then told us. This place lack honesty. We wasn’t given any explanations of why they added theses additional charges to our repair bill. We will never take our car back to them.

Dave’s did a great job helping me deal with a catalytic converter that was defective (purchased 9 months ago from another NAPA authorized shop that closed down. Not a Dave’s shop). They were able to work with the NAPA main office, providing evidence of the defective cat and replacing it under warranty. Car is running great!

Horrible experience, I forgot yo write a review about them, it's been some time but I can still share my experience. They totally misdiagnosed my problem even when I knew what it was, at this time I did not have any tools or a place to work on my car. They had good reviews but wow I guess people don't know what they are talking about or just happened to have a good experience. With a few repairs they used a dremel on my wheel liner because they were too lazy to get their hand inside to remove a bolt. They figured replacing my fuel filter would fix my problem but it did not. After a few days I noticed a fuel smell, look down and the filter was pouring fuel which is great because it's right next to my exhaust. I call em I bring it in before work, I now have no faith in these people so I sit outside and I go in and talk to the tech, and this guy has an absolute outrage that I talked to him we get in an argument the shop foreman comes out and tries to resolve the problem. Just an absolute horrible experience, outrageous price gouging for parts markup and labor times when they do a hack job. These people are not worth taking your car to, I figured with good reviews they would be good in my experience they were the worst people I have dealt with. Hope this helps at least one person who cares about their vehicle.

My AC stopped working completely. I took it to Dave’s ultimate and they changed my compressor. Afterwards , My AC wasn’t blowing as cold- therefore i took it back; they did a deeper research and found the problem and fixed it at no additional charge. Now my AC is blowing Very cold air. I’m very Satisfied with that.

Update: Don't get work done here. Many come back, and damage to vehicles at this shop. And unethical service. I've literally heard employees say that "They would shake the coins out of an old ladies purse." I was terminated from this company after being assaulted by my Boss!!!!! Don't give this shady scam ur business Many vehicles come back over and over, because it's a sales scam in the front office. Boycott this Sham of an Establishment. Now Brad the owner lies about vehicle theft and threats. To bad I have video proof it's all Lies huh Brad. Google have this business investigated by OSHA, AND BBB. If I m at fault I will take down my post otherwise I'm leaving it up to inform the community. Assault by my Boss Keith Grier incident # 24-1780685 Also Brad the owner pays people off who leave bad reviews. Brad is not a good person. When we would reach the 40K. A week goal Employees would get a meal paid for....but only up to $16 Dollars per employee....if that's not a complete show of disrespect and greed I don't know what is. $16 Dollars will get You a small meal these days and not even a beverage. Don't believe the reviews that are 5 Stars they aren't real reviews, most of them. If anyone one would like the real story and actual facts. I have them. Just look up The Incident # 24-1780685 that's from My Manager assaulting Me, while I am going to physical therapy from an injury I sustained while working for Dave's. And I had to pressure them to file the claim because they didn't for over 4 months. I have over 22 million views on my Google maps account.
