I would be remiss if I did not write this review. I was referred to Decatur Garage by a dear friend after a disappointing experience at Eurofed, which I now refer to as Eurocrooks. Not only did they fail to fix my problem, but they also treated me like a "cash cow." I decided not to give them another penny and called Decatur Garage instead. It was the weekend before July 4th when I reached out to them. From the beginning, I could tell that I finally found someone who understood my issues. They assured me that if I dropped my car off on the Monday before the 4th, I would have it back before the holiday. However, I was unsure if this was possible given the potential damage caused by Eurocrooks. To my surprise, I received a call on Tuesday informing me that my car was ready. They explained everything they had to fix, which I suspect was caused by Eurocrooks. I had no idea how much this would cost me, but it turned out to be more than fair. I couldn't get there fast enough to pick up my car! The invoice was very detailed, listing everything along with the costs. When I turned the car on, I immediately noticed it was running smoother. I cannot thank Decatur Garage enough—I am now a lifetime customer! They were truly heaven-sent!

Hands down the best Porsche mechanic for older models. I believe he specializes is 911s but I won’t let anyone else touch my 928 since I met John. I’ve held off on reviewing them just because I don’t need everyone to find out and keep them too busy for me.

I use John and his team professionally. I would trust no one more than him and his team with our air cooled 911’s. Only recommends what needs to be done and communicates well during the project.

Incredible experience. Dave disagnosed my car's problems quickly and fixed it. Car runs better than it has in years. Owner, Marianne, was fun to talk to and very engaging. Felt like an honest shop that would stand behind its work.

I had an issue with my axles. I tried a few mechanics, including my car's local dealership, and was baffled at the high cost to replace the parts. The car was in such trouble from a driving and safety standpoint. I was emotionally preparing myself to purchase a new car. Then I found Decatur Garage. They were easy to communicate with (even while I was on vacation, they kept in contact). They were very professional and timely. I went on a 3 day vacation and they had my car ready and fixed by the time I returned. The car hasn't run this smoothly in over a year and a half. I will continue to use Decatur Garage for all my engine needs.

2002 996TT and 1987 944T. John and his team are totally competent and experienced and I trust their advice and work completely. The only service shop my Porsches will know so long as I own them; I can't think of stronger way to express my confidence..

Davis and Ms. Marianne give you the best service, punctual, hands on information about your vehicle, he really go out of his way to make you feel like you are truly a special customer. I learned so much about my car that I didn't know before for the seventeen years I have it. He even went out of his way to give me extra stuff for my car. And to top it off I was feeling really bad when my car stop on the road at a stop light and his encouraging words was a breath of fresh air I really didn't feel as bad anymore. Thank you Davis you are truly a God send a really great guy. And thank you Ms. Marianne If you want great service please take your vehicle to Decatur Garage, Marianne and Davis will surely treat you well.

I'm really not sure where all the five-star ratings come from. But this guy does not want to do any work. I'm not even sure if he's even really qualified to work on Porsche.

John Bacon, his son, and wife are delightful. John pays attention to the details..nerdy. Honest without hesitation. A great mechanic and great person. My Porsche 944 (Gretchen) is in the best shape ever. I recommend him highly. J W Ogle

John & Marianne are the best! I've owned 3 Hondas in the past 32 years & John has been the primary mechanic on all 3. He never fixes what's not broke & takes the time to explain what does need fixing. I know I can trust them & would never trust a dealership or anyone else with my car.

After reading some reviews and speaking to the owners a few times, I decided to take my Cayman to their shop for my 40k mile service, instead of Jim Ellis. I DO NOT regret it, and can say I will take any work I may need to get done to them. I even got a screw in my tire and they patched it for free for me just recently. They are incredibly personable and seem to care about forming a real relationship with their customers. If you get a chance, take a peak at the nifty projects they have going on in there.

Took my car here for a second opinion on some work that needed to be done. Was informed that the repairs would exceed the value of my car and that it would be wise to look at getting something else. Saved me from making a costly mistake . Very nice, very honest, very quick. Will be coming here in the future for any car issues. Great place
