WOW, heard of people paying lots for unnecessary work, but first time it's happened to me. $3000 in work when all it needed was an emergency brake cable. After weeks of "it's all ready" only to bring it right back THREE TIMES for the same problem and getting just a mile down the road each time. Eventually got a bag of emergency brake parts leaving me with no emergency brake, and a vehicle needing a front end alignment after they replaced some front end parts. All kinds of circular reasons work was done (or not done) and parts were replaced including- "I don't think they are the problem" (???) after the parts were replaced and charging me hundreds of dollars each time, and why an alignment wasn't done when it was obvious it needed one after replacing some parts. Only two mechanics (techs) who are the owner's sons and work on commission. Need I say more? Steer clear of this place. WOW, just wow! Went down the road to another shop where they replaced the emergency brake cable I supplied, put the bag of other emergency brake parts back on the vehicle that DeCraenes took off, and did the needed alignment, all for about $200 out the door. What a costly learning experience.

Absolutely ripped off my 20 year old son. Charged him $240 to tow him literally 6 miles for a flat tire. This was at 5:30 pm, and not during a snow storm or anything like that. He had called AAA, but McHenry sheriff told him these guys would be quicker. Figured basic towing cost until it was too late. Owner literally told me he would have only charged the $85 hook up fee if he called him directly, but since McHenry called, they could charge 185, plus milage. My son even had to pay the milage the driver drove without anything hooked on his truck. When I called on this, they could care less.

I had to drop my car off here on the fly for an inspection Monday morning for an overheating transmission. I love how much Mark communicated with what was going on with my car, price, time frame, apologizing for delays getting parts that were no fault of his own whatsoever. This was honestly a fantastic experience and this will become my go-to mechanic from here on out. This place is amazing!

I have not actually had my car in but the knowledge and understanding I heard on the phone was very reassuring. I had a conversation of basically troubleshooting the problem to ensure that it was what I was suspecting. Just the symptoms alone was enough to point out that it was a different issue. It saved me about $2,000. I can't wait for something to break so I can bring it to them and help them stay in business for as long as possible.

I have been using them for the past few years. I'm glad I found DeCraene's. Mark is the Owner/ Technician. Extremely knowledgeable! Family owned business, his 2 sons and daughter complete the Terrific Service I have always received! Mark once again saved me in a Extremely fast fashion. His diagnostics and quotes are spot on. They don't change once doing the repairs. Mark goes above and beyond to help you understand what is needed, and gives you options also. Then you are able to decide the options of repairs needed. Between Mark and his Sons they are Extremely Proficient to get the repairs done. Mark is Very Driven in Customer Satisfaction. I would not take my vehicles anywhere else. His daughter does the Customer Service at DeCraene's. She is very cooperative with taking input information and passing on to the technicians. I've been going to Decraene's for over a decade now, I've been to both locations, Woodstock and Harvard, and both brothers that run their locations are incredibly nice guys, whenever there has been something wrong with my car they are very prompt about getting it fixed as fast as they can, and they have always called to make sure any needed extra repair was okay, and have confirmed the pricing before starting work, I've never felt like I've been swindled out of any un-needed repair before

Since we have moved to Woodstock, we found DeCraene's, very fortunate for our auto service needs. I repair my own vehicles when time permits. Mark & his Sons are an Extremely Capable, Full Service Repair Shop! Prices are Very Fair! Mark & his sons are Great People Friendly Folks. They answer your questions, explain details of repairs if you are interested. I was a mechanic years ago, so I understand the pains they go through on older vehicles such as mine. Yet they always accomplish the task at hand. When I schedule a job, I explain when I need it back, have side business, Mark always manages to get it done! They truly appreciate the hometown folk! Very comfortable to deal with, and truly appreciate the business! Mark has worked on both my vehicles, not that he was crazy about the problems. Yet he put forth a 200% effort everytime!
