After many years of supporting Duty Tire Center on Atlantic Ave, I am highly disappointed to say the that they have lost my business and I am currently seeking to have repair damages reimbursed caused by too much oil added, or possibly the old oil wasn't completely drained, during a recent oil change. Perhaps the old oil filter wasn't removed, which holds about a quart of oil itself, I don't know. What I do know is I noticed an oil leak soon after an oil change in January 2024 and took the car back to Duty Tire to have them check it out in February 2024. The leak was found, but I was told it was beyond their capability and I was referred to another mechanic. Upon checking my car's oil level a couple of days later, it registered much higher than the max fill level on the dipstick. I called Chris at Duty Tire and he got extremely defensive but did offer me another oil change as if that would fix the problem. ? I am very perplexed as to why the mechanic did not see that there was too much oil in the crankcase on either of my visits with them- is it not standard procedure to check the oil level anymore? It also seems that if my car was leaking oil when I initially brought it in for service the mechanic would have brought that to my attention. Since then, I've spent $342 on gasket repairs and mailed 2 registered letters to Duty Tire to which I've had no response. I'm a fair person and don't like to complain, but I refuse to be the brunt of someone else's incompetence and don't appreciate being ignored when I have a legitimate complaint. It really is a sad situation, because I have suggested Duty Tire to many people over the years.

This is the only place I take my cars to in Raleigh. They are both honest and effective - the two most important qualities I look for when someone is servicing my vehicles. I have used their services for oil changes, tire replacement, brakes, inspections, status light issues and more. I’ve also had them perform in-person reviews of cars that I was planning on purchasing. I would highly recommend them to anyone in the area. They are often busy so schedule ahead!

Chris and Jeff are great! Had some codes popped up during an inspection and they were able to scan them and explained to me very throughly. They never up charge or recommend unnecessary work!

Chris and the staff provided positive energy which made the experience wonderful at Duty Tire.Rick the mechanic did fantastic job on the power steering pump. Don’t need to look elsewhere because they will take care of your vehicle issues. I’m not seeking Firestone or others that overcharge you. Thanks Duty Tire

Great service done in a timely manner. These guys are awesome, and very honest. I came in because jiffy lube said I was needing new breaks and the Honda dealership told me I needed new fluids, turns out I only needed an oil change and a tire rotation. I appreciate the good work and trustworthiness. Will recommend Duty Tire to all my friends :)

These guys saved my day. I just moved here and while running around I realized my tire was leaking. In a panic I tried to find the closest tire shop and they were it (didn’t hurt they already had a high rating). When I got there, again in a panic, I asked the front desk, who greeted me very nicely, if they could help me or point me in the direction of help. They said they could easily help me and did so right away. Took my car back, 10 minutes later she was patched up, $30. Everyone there was lovely and I will definitely be going back, knock on wood not for awhile, but if I need help, these are now my guys.

Definitely the best in the area! Forget those big corp tire ships, Duty Tire makes you feel valued as a customer. Always honest, fair, and done by their expected time. They've caught so many things on my car that other big shops turned a blind eye to. Put your trust in Duty Tire!

Got 4 new tires and two days after that and jeep makes grinding sound and ABS light comes on. Say can’t see me until Thursday but nothing they did when installing..called and expressed frustration they said “will not look at your car again after what you accused me of” good business model, mess something up then act insulted and take no responsibility.

I've been going to these guys since I moved to NC in 2016 was recommended by a friend to bring my challenger there....that was the best advice I've gotten...I refuse to go anywhere else...from my muscle cars, my wife's 4runner and my companies work trucks they do it all it well worth the wait. I give them 8 stars out of 5. Chris and his team are hands down the best I've ever dealt with.

Knowledgeable, kind and patient business! I was referred by D&E auto and the recommendation did not disappoint. Service was done in a good time and affordable. I don’t foresee any issues. I would recommend especially to women if you are looking for an honest and competent place to get auto repairs.

My car was having issues for weeks and the other shops that I took my car to, costed me so much money with no real results! This shop with honest and experienced people fixed my car in a short time and I am so glad that my friend recommended it to me. They are amazing and skilled mechanics that you can trust! I definitely recommend it especially if you are new to the area and are having a hard time finding a trustworthy repair shop.

The most clear cut and honest tire/auto service center in the city. They’ve saved me money countless times by addressing the actual issue and not trying to lump on unnecessary additional services like others do. Tire prices are fair and they won’t hesitate to let you know if you’re getting a better deal elsewhere. Great place with a great group of workers!
