10 stars!! Edward, the owner is so kind, honest, welcoming and helpful. I used to work in this area ten years ago and would get oil changes from Edward and his team exclusively. I started working somewhere else and it was no longer convenient to go this way. After going to jiffy lube a for about two years, my car had been damaged by jiffy lube twice. What I’m trying to say is, I will drive across two counties if it means e & m will be servicing my vehicle. In LA especially as a woman, mechanics constantly try to take advantage of you. Edward is NO BULLSHIT. He is a family man who wants the best for you and your vehicle. Also found out that he does body work and mechanical work. So he can do it all! Thank you E & M!!!

I found Edward randomly 14 years ago when the tow truck driver dropped my car off at his shop and he has been my only mechanic ever since. I'm someone who likes to know the details and have an explanation of what's wrong and the work being done. Whenever I need work done on my car, Edward always provide me a full explanation for my peace of mind (he'll also literally show me inside the car what's broken too -- so not just taking his word for granted). Additionally he charges a fair price for parts & labor (sometimes even way below market when I've price compared). Highly recommend. My car is 2008 Ford Mustang.

Edward is by far one of the nicest people I have ever met. He is fair with prices and fixed my car to where it is running better than before I took it to him. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for a good mechanic that does quality work and won't rip you off. I found my 'mechanic.' :-) 11/08/23

I would give 0 stars if possible. Both of these photos were taken 12/19/23. I went here first on 11/18 to have my car fixed so it would pass a smog check, Edward (scam artist) charged me $300 to "fix" a sensor and told me the car would pass the smog, I went the next day for smog check and my car did not pass. Then I asked him to fix my check engine light on 12/27/23 which he charged me $910 for and when I got the car back surprise, the check engine light was still on. On the 27th I came in with a spare tire on (unrelated I had AAA put that on) and for some reason beyond me he asked to see my tire so he opened my trunk and moved the tire that was in there "to make it easier to pull out" which caused my whole trunk to become blocked and unopenable when I was at my tire appointment yesterday 12/28. After calling him yesterday, he told me to come into his shop and he would open my trunk, when I asked how he refused to tell me and replied "Don't worry about it, I will open" so I had to miss my appointment and miss work to go back to his shop today and have him fix what he broke when he was not supposed to touch my trunk in the first place, let alone move thing around. When I arrived today, clearly upset because he ruined my trunk so the key fob and the interior button lock didn't work, he told me that I needed to calm down or he wouldn't work on my car when he insisted that I come in. Understandable, but then he tried forcing the trunk open so I had to ask him to stop because he was going to break the latch mechanism (please see the photo) and I googled how to open the trunk in this situation, which led me to find an emergency latch to open the trunk that can be accessed through the back seat. When I asked Edward to go in through the backseat he refused and started taking a phone call while walking away while being very rude and dismissive to me. I came to him based on a coworker's recommendation because I am new to the state but I have spent over $3,500 here since moving to LA in November just for him to have not fixed any of these so called "issues" he has been finding and stealing my money. If you want to be taken advantage of and scammed out of thousands of dollars, especially if you're a woman, you should come here. If you want someone actually trustworthy and who actually knows what they are doing, I would highly recommend you keep searching. Edward is the WORST mechanic I have ever had the displeasure of meeting, I have had to go through my bank to get the money back because he refuses to issue a refund or complete the services as charged and most recently file a police report with LAPD for property damage to my car for what he did to my trunk when I never asked him to work on or touch my trunk initially. I can't describe how much I loathe this place, I left today crying and of course Edward didn't care he was more concerned with my tone than being a respectable business. I hope he loses business over this, I will be telling everyone I know not to come here as they just take advantage of and scam women. I have a video of him actually pounding on my trunk from today as well (another example of him not knowing what to do) that google won't let me upload.

There is no better auto shop in LA..... P E R I O D. I've been going to Eddie for YEARS. EVERY TIME I have stopped in he's given me excellent service, fair prices and accurate advice. UNHEARD OF: The last time I stopped in Eddie literally scanned my diagnostic and told me my issue was still covered under warranty. I told Eddie my warranty was expired. He told me my specific issue WAS covered for longer than other issues. Long story short, he sent me back to the dealership and I was able to get everything fixed- and covered. ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND A MECHANIC AS HONEST AS EDDIE IN LA. He could have charged me an arm and a leg. This business helped me for YEARS with multiple old vehicles that needed TLC. They know what they are doing. GO THERE. I ALWAYS trust trust, I recommend E & M to everyone...

Great mechanic, actually helped me with a pre-sale inspection and it was obvious he really cares about his customers and even advised me about how to ask the seller to take money off the price and gave an accurate estimate of how much minor repair a car of that age would require. Since those tune ups, I haven’t had a single issue. We love Edward and recommend him to everyone!

Edward is such a terrific guy and has been taking care of all my cars for years now. I have a 10 year old Prius, a 1987 Grand Wagoneer, F-250 truck and an Isuzu box truck for my business so I have to pay him a visit very often. He always does a great job on all my needs and recently replaced the alternator on My Jeep Grand Wagoneer. The prices are always fair and the service is always friendly and prompt. I have recommended his shop to several of my friends and colleagues.

I've lived in LA going on 5 years now. Been to several different mechanics in the time. I'm glad to have been recommended going to E&M by a tow truck operator one night when my car wouldn't start, as Edward's since become my mechanic of choice! He's extremely honest with the diagnosis and his pricing, and he'll get the job done properly!

Had my car towed in and dropped off at 3 am as my starter didnt work from a parking garage. Called next day and they fixed me up and had the car ready by early afternoon. Showed me my starter and explained the service. Highly Recommend.

Warning other customers before considering having your vehicle repair or maintenance here. The owner is unreliability and untrustworthy. I came to him previously after paying the full amount to have my engine and fuel tank fixed. After 8 months, the gas tank leaks while the vehicle is running. Even by having an invoice, he decline to help me without recieving payment for his services. After having my car inspected at this location, my vehicle undergone serious malfunctions, to the point where I had to take it to the dealership to repair it. I was aware I only had P3025 code several days before bringing it to this automotive repair shop. However, I was completely unaware of having a P1705 code until after the inspection at the dealership. I like to include a thank you to Edward for replacing my engine with aftermarket spark plugs after claiming to replace them with actual sparkplugs bought from the dealership.

This spot changed my starter (same day), got me a ride home, and told me what they recommend that i get checked (which i later confirmed with my uncle who is a mechanic). They are honest, quick, and don't charge a ton. I'll definitely go back when i need help.
