I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place. The mechanic wasn’t honest or transparent. He told me it would cost $1500 to $1800 to fix my car, but I ended up getting it fixed elsewhere for just $280. He didn’t even take the time to properly inspect my car. There’s no way I’d recommend this place to anyone. Very disappointed!

When your transmission acts funny it always seems like an emergency. ER got us in right away and diagnosed the problem quickly. They gave us a couple options and practical advice. Straight-shooters and would recommend.

I’ve had three transmission rebuilt here, never had an issue, actually taking my fourth car to be repaired here this morning , don’t listen to the haters, you won’t find a better transmission shop in the bay, period!

The best transmission repair shop in the whole bay area I wouldn't take my car anywhere else to get my transmission fixed Edgar is very professional knowledgeable and knows a transmission inside and out and had my car done reasonably fast id say he is a honest mechanic which is extremely hard to find these days but after picking up my car this afternoon im 100% satisfied with his work my car is back and running better then ever. I would definitely recommend ER Transmission to anyone needing a transmission. Thanks again Edgar

NEVER GO HERE! EDGAR IS INEPT AND A CAR THIEF! I first took my Mazda to ER Transmissions. He replaced the transmission with a rebuilt transmission. Charging me $1,800 to do so. Thinking that he had done a great job when I picked up my Mazda, I brought in another car with a Ford engine in it. Mymazda came back to me sounding like a a truck. When I took it back to him' and asked him to fix it, he said he didn't know why it was sounding that way. Said he couldn't figure it out. I finally took it to another shop and they told me it was because the bolts holding down the transmission had never been put back in and therefore I was driving around and it was very dangerous for me to do so. The other car had a transmission that was slipping in 2nd gear. When he returned it back to me it was still slipping in 2nd gear and sounded like a truck. Also when he disconnected the engine it disconnected my car computer and therefore my dashboard and my radio and other electrical items were not working. I then returned the car to him and asked him to fix it. He never did. I went by to pick up my car and the battery was dead and he didn't charge it so I could remove it from the lot. Basically I took the car to him and NEVER got it back. HE SOLD MY CAR WITHOUT NOTICE. I have multiple emails and made phone calls asking him to fix my car so I could come drive it off the lot, but he always had excuses as to why my car wasn't fixed and said he had no way to contact me (But he answered my emails). Whenever I tried to pick up the car he was never there and his associate would not release it. One day I went by the shop to try to tow my car, they had disappeared without notice. The next time I heard anything about my car, I received a ticket that someone had gotton on the car for the registration being unpaid in San Jose. He sold my car illegally without ever contacting me and didn't even have the decency to transfer the ownership!!! Edgar is inept, a thief and he is a crook! Not only am I out the $2,200, that I paid him to fix the car, he made money off of my $8,000 car. HE STOLE MY CAR!!!

Long story short he is very diappointing to me ,my car has been in this shop off and on for a month and its still in there with a rebuilt transmission and still not going in 3rd gear . I no there is a better transmission shop in oakland or the bay area dam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I first took my car there it would not go in third gear,I am out of 1800 dollars and its still not going in 3rd gear.I took my car back three times and he still have not figured out the problem so now its like a shot in the dark with getting my car back fixed.I talked to him today , he said give him a couple more days to figure it out so give some patience please

For the review above. You don't "replace all the parts" when doing a transmission rebuild. You call that "buying a new transmission." The idea of a transmission rebuild is an economical approach to a New Transmission replacement and involves replacement of the worn components. NOT every component. If you were replacing every component, the cost of parts alone would be more than the entire rebuild job.
