I popped into Elmgrove Auto after being referred when I had discovered a nail in my tire that I needed help with plugging. Tim although very busy, stopped what he was doing, listened and talked to me about what was going on and was able to help me. He was friendly, attentive to every customer that came in the door, accommodated me working there while waiting and it was done in no time. I work in customer service so it was refreshing to have a great first experience and I highly recommend!

I've always had not the best experiences with shops and then i found this gem! I was only due for an inspection but wound up having a nail in my tire days before my appointment. I called to see if they could fix it while it was there and they had no problem adding it for me. When i brought it in they were open early, friendly, and made me feel comfortable to trust them with the service and vehicle! They didn't try to upsell anything just good men doing their jobs! Anything auto go to Elmgrove Auto!

Great experience here. Another chain shop broke off key to lug nut locks, so couldn’t rebalance my new tires. This shop was recommended to me from another independent shop and I was able to get in right away. Tim had to torch these lug nuts off. Waiting area very comfortable and clean. Everyone was helpful and very professional, prices reasonable. Great service, definitely will be back. Thank you!

Hands-down, the best repair shop in the area. The new owner Tim is a very seasoned mechanic with decades of experience. He takes the time to explain and educate the customer why regular maintenance is needed. It will save you money in the long run and keep your car running safely in the future. This place was recommended by a friend of mine because I was having lights pop up on my dashboard and I didn't understand what was happening. The mechanics definitely made me feel super comfortable and they explained everything that each light meant and how much it would cost to repair everything. They were very patient with me and they made me a priority and I would recommend them to everyone I know because the work was done the same day and I was so pleased with the service from beginning to the end

Took my car in for some routine maintenance and was very pleased with the time it took to complete the work and how well I was treated. The mechanic explained how often I should have these services done to prolong the life of my vechicle. He was very knowledgeable. So happy I went to Elmgrove Auto.

Brought my Malibu in today 3/1 for an issue with my windshield wipers not working. Called and they were nice enough to fit me in, that's when it all fell apart. I've been coming to Elmgrove Auto for at least 14 years, when the gas station was out front. Bob was great to me so I told my staff about him and how convenient it is to our business, so my service manager started going and other workers. I also started bringing our business vehicles there too. We'll NO more- here's why. Carter called me back and told me my windshield transmission was shot, so I said the motor is good, I hear it working when I turn my wipers on, he goes on to say.. yes, but the motor is weak so the whole unit needs to be replaced. I asked him how much said it would be $570 not including tax. I said really geez, he says yeah, we've had to replace like 3 of these within the week and these are known to fail in Malibu's. Good thing is the new unit will be all steel, they improved the part as it's coming from GM and they can have it there by 1PM and installed. I said ok I'll do it, by this time it's around 10AM. I called back within 15 minutes and asked Carter was he sure the price he gave me was correct, he said yes. Told him I called another repair shop and they said around $300 to fix it if they had to replace everything. But that it could be the wiper arm bushing, and that it would be a really cheap fix it this is the case, I asked them how much? He said if Autozone/ Advance Auto has them I could get about 4 for $10. And if I watch YouTube and search for the videos, that's all it would cost and maybe 40 minutes. If they do it $120. I go to Advance Auto after watching 4 videos, buy the $10 bushings and only needed one to fix the issue. I've never did this before so it took about 1-1/2. I'll never, ever go back to Elmgrove Auto. Our business vehicles will not be going there, my service manager and the team said they will not go either. I understand making some money, but to blatantly try to rip me off is on another level of dishonest business. $570.00 plus tax for, I hope they do not have any issues with there overhead garage doors and openers, what goes around comes around. Crazy how they can smile in your face and sleep great at night. My friends, family and business partners will definitely be told to stay away and if they do get a call, charge them like they tried to do me. Funny when people forget that they will need something one day and feel the burn when the shoe is on the other foot. Here is my $10 part that I installed, one little arm bushing. Thanks Carter, you have a lot to learn. Hopefully you and the new owner do better before it's too late.

I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED AND FRUSTRATED with this mecanic. I took my vehicle in with a flat tire and asked Tim, the manager if he could give me a price for two tires so I had two matching tires on the front. He called me back with 3 choices, each different quality and price. I told him I would like the middle choice and he quoted me $221 for the tires. He continued to tell me he recommended I get all 4 tires. He then gave me a quote of approximately $880 for all 4 tires with installation. So I asked him, to be sure that what he told was correct, that both tires would come to $22. He assured me that price was for both tires. I hung up confused as to why it was only $221 for 2 tires but $880 for 4, the math didn't make sense. I wanted to be absolutely sure that the $221 was for both tires. So I called back on speaker phone so my boss who was next to me could also hear his answer. So I asked Tim again "are you sure the $221 is for both tires?" He once again said "yes" that price is for BOTH tires. So I told him to carry on. When I went in t pick up my vehicle the price was $443, which is exactly what I was afraid of. I explained my frustrations and concerns with Tim who refused to admit he made a mistake and that he told me that price was for a single tire. At this point I had no recourse and no way to rectify to situation. Tim would not admit he made the mistake. His only answer was he could take off the new tires and replace the old ones onto my vehicle and return my money. I don't believe his mistake was intentional but I would greatly caution any one from doing business with someone who couldn't accurately answer a simple question or admit that they made a mistake. I will be telling everyone I know that this mechanic cost me $222. It was his mistake and should have honored the price he gave me. I will also be contacting the local Better Business Buero.

Nice helpful staff. We were visiting from out of town when our car wouldn't start. Of course this happened on a Friday afternoon. Called for a tow and started calling local repair shops. Bob answered the phone, listened and said no problem to bring in and would get to it Monday. They replaced our starter and it was ready by 1 pm. Also informed us to get ignition switch replaced soon. Clean shop with friendly knowledgeable staff.

Waited 2 weeks. Didn't touch it all day then tells me the car is to old. I just needed my defrost to work. They were busy and didn't want the job or didn't have the knowledge to fix it. Car has 96,000. Should have followed my gut. Instead I listened to the reviews. Hopefully this will save someone time. An find a competent mechanic.

I got my car checked here and they tried to charge me 770 for something that wasn’t even broken. They said my spring was Broken. I went to a different auto shop after they charged me 770 and they said nothing was wrong with it. Would not recommend.

THEY NEVER PUT THE BOLT BACK FOR THE BRAKE CALIPER. Went in for an annual car inspection and passed. Soon after I was hearing a noise from my front left brake that sounded like a bad wheel bearing. They never put the bolt back in for the caliper when they checked the pads. The brake caliper had been hanging on the wheel for 3 weeks before i could do an entire brake job.

The kind staff at Elm Grove Auto were such a relief to come across. My husband and I moved from out of state, didn’t know a soul, and were concerned with finding a trustworthy repair shop that would truly have out best interest in mind. Elm Grove Auto was just that. I would recommend them to anyone in a heart beat. They are honest, hardworking, and always gave us full transparency. In many situations with our car they went above and beyond, and we couldn’t have been more grateful as surprise car expenses can be a real financial strain at times. We got to know them well and they treated us how you would treat family or friends. Since we moved away from Rochester at the beginning of the year, this has been one of the businesses we miss most. So so thankful we ran across this shop and the people that work there. Thank you everyone at Elm Grove Auto!
