One of the only good things I kept from an ex boyfriend was being a devout client of European Autohaus. I’ve been taking my cars to them for everything since 2010 and am beyond grateful for the way they’ve assisted me in all sorts of car repairs - ranging from the mundane to the absolutely ridiculous. The most I know about anything under the hood of my car is where the wiper fluid goes - and the staff are aware of that and very patient with me. A coworker recently was venting about her car repair woes, so I gave her the number and told her to call and speak with Sean. I was not surprised at all to hear back from my coworker that Sean had walked her through all kinds of options, as well as how to handle the warranty company that was giving her the runaround. So grateful.

I take car in with 2 issues. Vibrating wheels and weird whistle coming from engine. They replace new axle and pcv. New axle surprised me since it’s new, but whatever, it’s plausible. Drive home, wheel vibration still bad. engine vibration bad, whistle is louder. Car vibrating so powerfully it’s impossible to ignore. I get that diagnosing cars is hard. But if I say there’s two issues, I spend $1000, you don’t fix either, claim to have test driven the car and found neither issue after you fixed it.. how can I trust you? Why keep my car 2 more days to test drive? Why not call me when car is ready? Anyway. Car didn’t make it home. I would say these people are not good at what they do.

I took my Audi to this dealership for a tune up & they did a terrible job! Service was terrible! I’ll never go back again!

I have bmw 335i. I called to schedule an appointment and had to wait for two weeks, and when brought the car they checked it one week later, and he told me you have a transmission problem and I will send to you my partner that do transmissions, I waited another two weeks, I called multiple times to check if we can schedule an appt, and they just ghosted me, basically I wasted one month for nothing! I took my car to Transcraft Chicago Transmission and they fixed it in one week!

Sean is the best mechanic I've ever used. He knows Volvos inside and out and will take the time to explain your car issue to you. Super nice guy who can back it up with top notch work and knowledge. His crew is great too. Customer for life.

The owner (I think he was the owner) was a jerk. He offered to clear a sensor fault on my car, but berated me multiple times on the phone and in person for attempting to clean my catalytic converters prior to an emissions test, rather than spend well over 6 thousand dollars to have them replaced. He offered to replace them for 4 thousand, which is still greater than the value of my car, so I declined. He then said he would clear the fault - a 2-minute operation - for $55, so I left...Oh, and I passed my emissions test.

The owner Sean has been very honest everytime I take my older volvo in. Goes over the repair and required parts in detail. Very accommodating to last minute repairs. Final prices have been very close to his estimates. Very knowledgeable about the specific quirks of my car that would leave other mechanics scratching their heads or using incorrect parts, as some have done in the past.

Sean's shop is around my house and after reading the reviews i decided to send my BMW, which I have bought 2nd hand, for an inspection, incl oil and ATF change. He knows his craft and kept me informed about the costs (skills meets customer service).

I don't even live in the area, and I had a radiator hose blow off while I was driving around with a realtor, disabling my car. This was already a slightly embarrassing situation, and could have turned extremely costly, considering I drive an Audi, and maintenance costs for that make can get out of hand quickly.. any repair shop could have easily taken advantage of the situation considering I was stranded, but I Googled 'German auto repair,' and found some pretty positive reviews for European Autohaus, so I gave them a call. Ispoke to Sean, and he put me at ease right away, assuring that he could likely complete the repair and get me back up and running that day. I had my car towed in, and Sean immediately let me know that I wasn't as bad off as I thought I might have been. He stated that I just needed a new hose (the current hose was clearly too old to repair/reconnect) and then would be in good shape. Since I appreciated how straight forward he had been, I also asked him to take a look at an oil leak that had been bothering me for some time. My '06 A6 was notorious for this issue, and I had run the repair by an Audi dealership, along with a local mechanic that I had been going to for years, neither of which even cared to deal with the job. Sean completed the oil leak repair in one day, for half what either of these shops would have charged, had they even offered to deal with it. In short, Sean will be my new trusted mechanic going forward.. if you're in need of a great local German repair specialist, definitely give them a call!

Sean understands European cars and knows his craft! I took my car to another mechanic before bringing to Sean and the guy had no clue what the issue was. I talked to Sean first in person and described what was wrong with the car and he guessed what it was even before looking at it, and he was right. I ended up spending more that I've planned since the battery needed to be replaced too, but that's on me. Great service, would definitely recommend.
