I have not had them work on any of my cars, but I bought a car that was worked on here and I called to ask a few questions about maintenance history and the man who answered the phone was extremely friendly and helpful, he described to me what services they had done to the car and how he felt about its overall condition the last time he saw it. He went above and beyond and I wouldn't hesitate to bring my car here if I lived closer.

Trustworthy, quality and affordable automotive shop — been a customer since they opened and they have cared for my old Dodge, Volvo, Hondas, Nissan, and more. Mechanics are kind and knowledgeable. Office is informative, honest and great to chat with. Mike (owner) and Steve (asst mgr) are in the biz because they love to help people, and it shows. I cannot say enough just how great this group is. I took them a very complicated issue to fix with my Ford and they did not give up until they had it 100% fixed! Friendly, hard working, great communication, fair pricing and stellar customer service. I will only take my cars to them. Highly recommend!!

Nice guys and reasonable rates, my only negative is I had a run of poor quality replacement parts being used that failed prematurely. Oh, and they also gave me back my vehicle without plugging in all the wiring harnesses one time.

I really trust these guys know their auto care and the prices are fair! As a woman, in the past I've felt mansplained and condescended by mechanics so I'm very particular about who I go to these days. My friend recommended Expert Auto Repair and she works on scooter engines, so I happily took her word. Expert Auto is communicative, timely and will let you know what's actually necessary work to get done on your car. I thought I needed more expensive work and it turned out I just needed a coolant flush! Top notch guys here and I'll definitely be bringing my cars for service for years to come!

Absolutely stellar shop with very friendly folks working there. They stand by their parts and labor too! I had an alternator replaced by them, and it was a rebuilt one that failed within a few months and with zero issues getting me into the shop to replace it free of charge it was done in a day. Which was shocking and a very nice surprise that they stood behind their parts and labor! I have sent several folks here since I started using them for repairs and they say the same things. Honest. Fairly priced. Nice. Definitely recommend.

As unhappy as I am with paying 190 bucks for a diagnostic, it WAS correct. Also, they did slide me in on a Friday (and I was calling Thursday afternoon). I declined them doing the repair based purely on their price to do so. I do not doubt their abilities.

First time using this shop after it was recommended to me. Work was done pretty quick and was treated respectfully from the time I called to book my appointment to the time when I forgot my coffee thermos in their waiting area and it was returned super quick. Will be going back for sure.

I finally found a truly HONEST mechanic. They are fast, reasonable, and communcate every step with you. Steve is extremely friendly, and will listen to your concerns with care. I came from another mechanic that was terrible, and made me feel like my opinion didn't matter. Expert Auto Repair did an amazing job, and took great care of my car! Their techs are obviously highly compentent, and do good work. I HIGHLY recommend this mechanic!

I had an issue with a brake locking up and trouble shot it down to an issue with the soft line. Brought it in and explained what work I had already done. They call me back to replace the calipers and trusting their expertise I okayed the service. I get another call back and they managed to find an issue with the soft line that I told them about in the beginning. I take it home and everything is now working but looking over their work I find that they cut off the old soft line hanger and never even secured the line to its proper place. I am really disappointed in their workmanship and would advice against using this garage.

I have a 1975 Chevy Van that nobody in town wanted to work on and I brought it to Expert Auto and they have done so much great work to get this beauty road ready. They’ve been honest, prompt and fair prices the whole way. Can’t say enough about these guys, I wouldn’t go anywhere else for my mechanical repair needs in Portland!

Brought my (new to me) van in for an inspection. They shot me straight and did a fast, professional job all while communicating with me via text. The cost ended up being 200 less than quoted. Steve was great in his diagnosis and so were the mechanics who serviced ‘Vanarchy’! They also took the time to show me the worn parts on my van that they replaced. Services done: Motor / transmission mounts Engine gaskets Air filter Starter This was my second time here with a second vehicle. Good, honest mechanics. Friendly and fair prices. Thanks y’all! I am writing to educate people about diagnostic costs these people want to burn you out of $160 4 something takes less than 5 minutes and a machine does for you don't be fooled by the grotesque overcharging of the shops should be stopped just another example of how these people take advantage of their customers

I love this shop! I got a new-to-me car back in 2009 and a friend who drove for Radio Cab recommended them. Cab drivers know! I’ve been taking my cars to them ever since, and I’ve always received excellent service. In times I’ve had less money, I’ve appreciated their recommendations for what would be good to fix vs. what needs to be fixed. They are very honest and don’t try to upsell services. Their prices are a little higher than Jiffy Lube or the like, but they’ll catch the stuff that actually needs to be fixed (unlike Jiffy Lube), without trying to sell you stuff that doesn’t need it (also unlike JL). I find their pricing very reasonable. A great company to work with.
