I came in being told from a tire place that I needed 2 tire pressure sensors replaced, but when I came here, they were honest and told me I only needed one which saved me $80. They didn't have to tell me that, I would have never known the difference and would have been glad to pay for the 2. But I was exceptionally happy to find somebody that was truthful and honest and didn't try to take advantage of you, which is very rare these days when it comes to service work:) Respect!

I took my ram 1500 2013 in for a front and rear rebuild on my rotors and breaks and new ball joints and bearings they did a fantastic job rebuilding front end of my pick up truck for a fair price. Got it done in 4hrs! I highly recommend this mechanic shop over Firestone. These guys are the real deal and Honest! This will be my got to shop from now on!

Brought in my BMW to check the engine bc I was getting oil in the coolant. The result was worst case scenario bc it confirmed I have to get a new engine. The guy felt bad for me and didn't even charge me the $50 we agreed to. Seems like an honest mechanic. I will use them again.

Great experience at Famous Automotive & Tire Center! John took the time to answer many questions and assisted with selecting tires for our SUV that would provide a smooth/comfortable and quiet ride. Tires were ordered, appointment scheduled, and work was completed on time. We are very pleased with the level of service John and the staff provided!

I came here for an issue that I thought was going to be a big deal and cost a lot but John took care of us! John could have charged us whatever and we would have never known but instead he was kind, helpful, and honest!! We will be coming here from now on for any issue with our van that they take care of. If you want an honest place and somewhere that treats you with respect then this is the place to go!! I never leave good reviews from places like this cause we usually get price gouged but nope not here! John is just so amazing, honest, friendly and nice. In fact any staff that we made contact with was very nice.

The star treatment here is hanging in the balance . I went to Famous Automotive this morning( Saturday, August 17, 2024)to get a fuel pump pressure check, crank sensor installed( after insightful conversation with Bill decided to cancel that) and upon insight once again on the knowledge of Bill the seasoned mechanic, I decided on a fuel filter replacement . In the process of my car being put on the rack, there was a fellow mechanic working in the bay, who decided he'd position my car for the lift rack . I will say that while I was in the lobby, I noticed the young man positioning my car(which I'd partially driven into the bay of the shop, upon the request of Bill to assess what I was there for originally). So I notice the assistant inch forward to the rack, then reverse, and then an unnatural stop backwards, then align over the lift . I didn't really put to much thought into the unnatural stop at the time . But once the fuel filter was replaced, the business compensated, I got into my car . Immediately I sensed that something was wrong ! I put my car in drive and tried to turn, the steering column made a clicking sound, and as I tried to turn, the gas pedal moved with the click of my steering wheel . I Immediately braked, put it back in park where the mechanic that was assisting Bill had backed it to . I then reached out to the assistant to come, something was wrong with my car, he said give him a minute . So I got the attention of Bill, as he was trying to diagnose what was wrong, he then got the manager of the day, John, to show him what he thought the problem was . They concluded that the whole steering column needed to be replaced . They discussed with me what they imagined could have transpired to cause the problem, it was mostly hypothetical, in theory, not in fact . My hypothetical theory is this, when the assistant was positioning and repositioning for the lift, he snatched my gears on the column from reverse to drive without stopping; neither did he engage the service brake or slightly pull the gear shift towards him to put my car in gear . This was evident when I had no other choice but to drive my car, pieces of the steering wheel gear were falling from underneath my steering wheel as I drove . Either the assistant was ignorant(guilty of not knowing), incompetent(does not have enough training or experience), or was just plain stupid(has the training, experience, knew what the outcome would be, but just did not give a damn). At any rate, his actions are a high price to pay, to a hard working man ! I don't have the luxury of multiple vehicles, only one, and I maintain it well . And the real kicker here is, I am do on a job Monday, August 19, 2024, his ineptness is a real travesty!!! But John, the manager for the day, reassured me, in a call to him, that he'd get with the other managers and owners Monday, to see if they can figure out how to handle this . All I can say is, the integrity of that assistant is non existent. Yeah, I am making a big fuss out of this, I can't make it to my job, which is distant, that bothers me, and its at the fault of someone else's undisciplined ways . Well, no assurances were offered, and just as many parents will defend their children, even when their children have knowingly committed an offense, depending on the circumstances, mechanic shops stick by their employees, even when a disservice has been committed . Sometimes, you have to give the fight to God . Well, just an addendum to my original complaint and review about my experience at the Famous Automotive on SanJose in Jacksonville,FL. It has now been over a week that my car was sabotaged at that location . I say sabotaged, because no one came forward to claim responsibility, John did apologize, but no guarantees to fix the damage that was done to my vehicle to this point 8/25/2024. I have had to incur rental fees from obtaining a rental car to get to work out of the area, which has added to this situation. Still seeking a relief for the damage caused from Famous Automotive & Tire center Jacksonville,FL 32257 .

We called from the highway, we were hearing knocking in our rear left tire. We thought CV joint, and they thought maybe the axel? They said bring it on by. We went by and they found the problem with our Mazda 6 right away. It was a plastic piece hanging down. Didn’t cost is anything and we were on our way to our vacation. Perfect example of a business that wants to help customers and not just make money. Thank you Famous on San Jose!

We were running late to work and needed a tire repair, the place next door couldn't take us for an hour and a half and the guys at Famous took us right away. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable! We highly recommend and will definitely be back for all our repair needs

I've been to this famous location a few times, most recently to install a trailer hitch (purchased elsewhere) on my F150. They said the don't typically do that but were happy to accommodate. I have also been there for oil changes, new tires, and patching punctured tires. Top-notch service every time. They treat you like you've been coming to them for years from the first moment you walk in. Very friendly and transparent with their pricing. Never feel ripped off in the slightest. Always very quick work too. Thanks once again to the team!

my van had broken down and i had it towed to pep boys, i told them that i thought it might be the alternator , low and behold i got a call the next day and it was! they wanted $2600 to fix it so i called Famous Auto to see what they could do it for , they gave me a great price so i had it towed to them. the next day they called me and let me know that the alternator was fine and i just needed a battery replacement…. they went above and beyond!!!! they could have just changed the alternator and gotten paid but they noticed it was something simpler and did a test. i will recommend them to ANYONE. if you need anything done on your vehicle, make sure you come here! i’ve dealt with many mechanics and i can tell you, Famous Auto are the most honest, reliable, and affordable one i’ve found

Went to famous for a continuous oil leak I had went to another place before to fix but still had a leak and was told I needed new controlling arms which they said would cost me 1200 I knew I needed to get a second opinion so I went to famous and they definitely took care of me first they check my oil leak they showed me my controlling arms which definitely didn’t need to be replace. Everyone was so nice and they took time to explain what my car needed. I’m so glad I went to them and will continue to do so for all my car needs 10/10 recommend!!

I came to Famous Automotive at 9962 San Jose Jax. When I walked in, the service manager was speaking to a customer. He was speaking to her and answering all of her questions with patience and kindness. He told her what to do if this or that. As she asked questions he continued to keep the same energy! My turn, he did the same thing! Then master mechanic Bill walks in and chimes in and he was also kind to me and we all had a great conversation. They answered my questions and didn’t hurry me! Bill is working on my van right now! Also, Bobby noticed my air shock wire hanging and took the time to put air in (after we spoke about it) and zip tie it so it’s not hanging! It’s been hanging for two years and no one has done it and I didn’t know I could. I love the energy here and will keep coming back and will also tell my friends and family to come here!!!

What an amazing experience! Tom helped me and he was fantastic. They had me in and out of there in 30 minutes for an alignment. The whole staff were polite, friendly, and professional. I would 100% recommend this business.
