I had a great experience at Fulton Desplaines Garage and am so grateful to have found an honest and efficient shop. Matt listened to my concerns, took the time to discuss my vehicle’s history with me, and made sure I understood everything that was being done to my vehicle and was comfortable with the cost. Not to mention, he squeezed me in on very short notice! Looking forward to coming back for all of my future vehicle maintenance.

Thrilled to have found such a reliable local garage! Having recently moved to Chicago, this was our first time needing auto service. Matt was quick to respond to my inquiry and incredibly helpful. The service was done promptly and at a reasonable price. I'll be back!

I visited for a car inspection and unfortunately, my tint was damaged during the process. The experience was further disappointing due to the technician's lack of professionalism, as he spoke very loudly, making the interaction uncomfortable. I would not recommend this service based on my experience.

This place sell your email address and phone number! First time went there 2 weeks ago and my mailbox has been bombed with car insurance spam email! I sat in front of my computer all day just to delete those trash! Never go back to this place!

Absolutely wonderful. I've brought my car here several times and always received an excellent level of service. Matt is great to work with, honest, knowledgable, and kind enough to answer any questions I have. He came highly recommended and has more than lived up to the praise. Excellent customer service. Matt and his team had the accurate diagnosis on my car from the initial phone call I made, before even seeing the car itself. They took it to the emissions testing site and passed my vehicle so I did not have to make the trip out there again after I failed previously. No nonsense, all business--very pleased with my experience at Fulton-Desplaines.

Matt is the best mechanic we’ve ever had. Trustworthy, honest, smart, helpful attentive… I could go on and on. This is a real gem of an auto repair shop. Highly recommend. He’ll tell you what needs to be done, what doesn’t need to be done, and makes great recommendations about what other things you might want to consider to keep your car in tiptop shape.

Straightforward and efficient service. Brought my car in in the morning and the issue was diagnosed and fixed before the afternoon. Matt and his team are true professionals and will not suggest more work than is necessary just to run up the tab.

Very reasonably priced, fast, and professional service!!!! Matt is extremely knowledgeable and provides diligent care to all the customers (I could tell from the way he talks to his other customers on the phone). Wish I had found out about this place sooner. I’ll never go back to the dealer for car services again as their prices are unreasonably insane.

Matt was very professional. Brought my daughter’s VW Passat to get check engine light dealt with because it would not pass emissions test. Had several shops work on it before and was just becoming a game of seeing how many parts to replace and never got fixed. Matt was able to diagnose it and got it quickly to pass emissions test. Very pleased with the outcome. Great job guys.

Had an issue on a trip from TOLEDO – wasn’t complicated but they were able to fit us in on a moments notice -not a big fix but thank you so much! Had it done in 10 minutes and they were very fair with their pricing – if I need service in Chicago, I know where to go now!

I've been taking my vehicles to Matt at FDG for almost 10 years now and that's because he and his crew do amazing work, his assessments and prices are honest, and because he really takes are of the customers and our vehicles. I’m from out of town and woke up to a flat tire in my hotel garage. I showed up unannounced and was in and out in 15 minutes. They turned what could have been a disaster of a trip into a minor inconvenience! Thank you!

Let me start off by saying I was so happy I didn't have to deal with Audi dealership for our repairs. Unlike the dealership, Matt was responsive and has the patience to deal with insurance companies. I was relieved to not have to deal with them, instead Matt took over communication with our insurance company after they provided an estimate for repairs. Matt was honest about timeline & repairs needed and updated us often about progress. Highly recommend this shop if you want someone to get the job done without any drama! Thank you so much! Glad you are in the neighborhood.

First time getting my car repaired with Matt and team and of course needed a major repair. Matt was extremely patient and understanding. I am a little bit of a nervous Nelly (to say the least) he never seemed to get annoyed with my questions. He seemed to be honest and straight to the point, which I definitely appreciated. He's also super responsive even after hours. I will come back and definitely recommend them.

We live 2.5 hrs away and had what turned out to be a radiator failure while we were in town for a concert at the United Center. It was after hours by the time we arrived, so I parked the car at the hotel and messaged Fulton-Desplaines garage. I got a response from Matt that night, AFTER HOURS, telling me I could drop the car off first thing in the morning and they would make it work somehow. I dropped it off the next morning and they got the repair in while we browsed around Fulton Market, and we were home by dinner time the following day, despite it being a larger repair that takes several hours and their schedule being booked. Cannot recommend Matt and Fulton Desplaines garage enough for their great service and quality work!

A/C compressor and belt needed replacement on our 2012 Nissan Rogue. Sent an online inquiry on a sunday and Matt texted me only a few hours later! He was able to squeeze me into his busy schedule and fixed my car before end of day on Monday. Matt was also very professional, upfront, courteous and soft spoken. Gave me prices better than the area competitors. Hard to find honest mechanics nowadays go to Matt!

Absolutely exceptional service from Matt at Fulton-Desplaines Garage! I was referred by my girlfriend and couldn't be more pleased. Matt was swift to respond to my initial inquiries and was incredibly honest. I thought I was in for an expensive repair, but it turned out to be a simple brake adjustment. His integrity has won me over; I'll be entrusting my 2016 Lexus GS350 to him for all future needs. Highly recommend!

Fulton-Desplaines garage is a little shop with big Midwestern Dad energy (it’s a good thing). Midwestern Dads prioritize 3 things: being prepared for the snow, lawn care, and car maintenance. Matt is the latter Midwestern dad and dragged me (respectfully) for skipping maintenance and then fixed everything and got me back in the road. I was having engine trouble on a 2017 Hyundai Elantra - it was stalling, shaking while Idling , and the check engine light was on. I randomly found the shop via Google, completed the little online info form. I got a call back same day, was updated throughout the process and picked my car up the next day after new spark plugs, engine coil, replacement filters. It was a bit pricey (honestly we can chalk that up to my fault since I waited so long to do the maintenance), but I feel like my car was well taken care of.

I cannot say enough great things about this place! As a woman with little to no knowledge about cars the owner is very patient and helpful. After my catalytic converter was stolen from my car, I had no idea what to do or what was wrong with my car at first, and i found this place online as it was the nearest repair shop to me. The owner was excellent and took care of everything in less than 24 hours. Today, on my way to work, I got a flat tire and immediately knew to bring it in here and it was fixed in less than 30 minutes! They are life savers and I will always come here for any/all of my car repair needs!

I recommend this place! I’m from out of town and there were several problems with my car while being in the city. They were able to work on my car first thing in the morning and finished the same day! Super impressed with the communication as well. Reasonable price!

I traveled in for work meetings from Minneapolis. The morning I checked out of the hotel I found a tire completely flat. Googled auto repair shops in the area - Fulton Desplaines Garage came up. Gave them a call, they answered on the first ring, and Matt was able to talk me through how to get the car from the hotel parking garage to their shop. They were so accommodating and took my car in right away while I finished up work meetings. We decided to do some other maintenance on the car because why not it was there and I needed it done! I went to get my car later that afternoon, it was ready, everything done. My car left in much better shape than when it came in! I can't thank Matt and his team enough for their help, and quick work getting me out of a bad situation. This business has been around for a long time, and I know first hand why!

Matt and his team have been my go-to shop for years. I started taking my old car to them when I needed someone closer than my cousin's shop in the burbs. I ran everything past my cousin that first time and he said "the price is fair and the work they're saying they'll have to do is on the up & up" - I've been taking my cars to Fulton-Desplaines ever since. Nice, family run shop. They're thorough but won't do a bunch of unnecessary work and typically very fast turnaround. And their prices are fair and what you would expect if you do a little research ahead of time.

They are so kind and fairly priced. Helped us incredibly fast with a flat while we had our little one with us. Turned a flat into a learning experience for our toddler. Cannot recommend more.

Very thorough and professional! They made sure to properly diagnose our car, gave us a fair estimate, and made sure everything looked good before giving us our car back. They also quickly worked on our car after ordering the part - it took only two business days to get our car back. They mentioned the things that needed to get fixed immediately vs things that could wait. I highly recommend Matt at Fulton-Desplaines Garage!
