I brought my 2014 Ford Fusion Hybrid to the shop after being highly recommended from another shop who said he couldn’t fix my problem. It’s been a very complicated and cumbersome fix but Juan has been very patient with all of my calls and even sent a video of what was going on. I am very happy with the service I have received and will highly recommend this business.

Since I got my first car I’ve been going here and it’s been smooth. Very nice & accommodating staff, and on everything I love, no service took more than 2 business days to complete. Juan & Denis everybody in there are super knowledgeable about pretty much any vehicle. Brought my vehicle here a couple of weeks ago. Went to the shop with a complaint about a noise while accelerating, told the tech that i suspected the noise was coming out of the drive train components. He gets in the vehicle and we go for a drive. He tells me the vehicle sounds like is lacking air. He plugs in the computer to find a small misfire on cylender 6. Tells me that i need new plugs and wires. I told him i just changed them maybe 2 months before. Purchased oem parts. I asked him if he was sure that was the problem for the noise he said it could be. I gave him the go ahead to changed them again and also asked him while he is there replaced the valve cover gaskets due to them starting to leak oil. There was also an exhaust sensor changed. He did the work for a pretty inflated price which i paid. Noise not fixed and i still have a small misfire. All he had to do was put the vehicle on the lift and accelerate while someone looks for the source of the noise. As far as checking the spark plug on 6 for the misfire which could had been performed easily. Not happy, the only thing that changed was my wallet getting smaller. I will never visit this shop again.

Amy the receptionist was so polite and professional. Juan was very informative he and they followed up kept me updated with details on what needed to happen. Denis was so sweet and very knowledgeable as well. They did not gauge the pricing and performed quality work! Thank you for making this a great seamless experience! If you are looking for an awesome mechanic at a reasonable rate, this is where you should go. I became their client in January of 2024. I've had a water pump replaced, CV axle replaced, brakes and new tires. All at separate times and they handled me with kid gloves. They treated me like family and educated me along the way. Juan, Amy & Dennis are the best. Trust me, you will be in good hands with General Mecanic V8.

This had to be hands down the mechanic shop in Charlotte by far. From the supervisors to the mechanics, they are all friendly, communicative, and great listeners. They have straightforward pricing, no hassling, and stress free repairs. I had Jonathan as my mechanic to check my girlfriend's car, and needless to say, he was very informative and detailed to make sure that the customer understand what is wrong with the car and why the parts have to be replaced. I would highly recommend this mechanic shop to anyone and especially they are bilingual in both English and Spanish. Thank you guys, will be coming in more often in the future.

I HIGHLY recommend this mechanic shop! 💯 I’ve been there several times and they have ALWAYS been very COURTEOUS in comparison to other shops in Charlotte. The best part about them? Their HONESTY on finding the issues with the cars and fixing them. Prices are also very good 👍

Absolutely the worst customer service ever.They have had our landscaping vehicle for 2 months and lied about fixing.Complained about it and they said bring it back.Now it's been 3 more weeks with no calls from them and no truck.I wouldn't trust a moped to these guys.Very unsatisfied!!!!

I go out of my way to take my vehicles to General Mechanics V8. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and provide a great experience to an already frustrating situation. I have had alternators, starters, radiators, and tuneups done at this shop on multiple vehicles that I have owned. No one likes getting their car fixed but I can trust that they are honest, hardworking, competitive, and that my vehicles are safe with them. Thank you guys for all that you do.

We came in as soon as they opened with a power issue we thought.. turns out the catalytic converter went out. Denise was amazing and showed us the problem and even made recommendations on how to go about fixing it. I just side mentioned my other car I had with me and he went through my engine and told me all the things they would do! I will definitely come here again!! Highly recommend!
