I was recommended this shop by a friend and it has not disappointed. I've had nothing but positive interactions with everyone at Gerbrock and they stand by their work. Special thanks to Nathan for helping me learn how to change a headlight bulb. I so appreciate the customer service and I will only go here for my auto repair/ maintenance needs!

In Nov 23 I brought my car 2012 Nissan to gerbrock to change a rear signal bulb they told me how they had to take out the boxing that held the bulb and how difficult it was to do.. A couple of months later I started noticing that rain was filling up the rear light box where they had changed the bulb. A couple of months later I called them and told them what happened they refused to believe it was their fault. and told me they'd charge us to fix it. I was po and just let it be.Then a few months later when the bulb stopped working because of it being filled with water all the time when it rains, we called them and told them the light was no longer working they again refused to believe it was their fault. Now we have to pay $500 to get it fixed by the dealer. Gerbrock USED to be a good garage before the current owners; they're only a few block s away but we stopped going to them several years ago after the whole front passenger wheel fell off the car after having new brakes put on. It appears they do not take responsibility for their mistakes.

These people know what they are doing. They did super thorough diagnostics on my old Subaru and communicated everything to me in detail. Fastest I’ve ever dropped off & picked up a car from a mechanic. Great price. I could not be more pleased.

as a young woman with zero knowledge about cars, taking my car into any place is daunting. are they going to totally overcharge me, create made up problems, patronize me, etc etc? I have never felt any of that at Ger-Brock. they are incredibly kind, talk to you in easy to understand terms, really listen to your concerns and go above and beyond. they are easy to work with and I am always happy with the price for their work. I've recommended this place to several friends and they all feel the same. thanks for being so great Ger-Brock!

This mechanic is honest, and that is what you need. Even though the dealership said I should spend over $3k to do work on my 6 year old, 50k mile Highlander, Ger-Brock looked at everything and let me know that none of those things needed to be done, well worth the time and money to bring your car here for any maintenance inspections/diagnostic visits. Their price for work is also very competitive, so no need to go anywhere else!

I've been searching for a new mechanic and I heard a many great things about this shop. They listened to my concerns about my vehicle and got me scheduled in a timely manner that also worked with my schedule. Everyone I spoke to on the phone and in person was lovely and helpful. Once they found the problem they gave me a ring and let me know the issue. They wanted to make sure I understood what the problem was and why we needed to take certain steps. They didn't try to up sell me and their prices seemed fair. Would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a mechanic. Thank you again for everything, I'll see you next time! Cheers 🚗

These folks are incredibly straightforward, honest, and do their work with integrity. As others have mentioned, you're not upsold on unnecessary services, and they go above and beyond in ways that other mechanics do not. Would and do 100% recommend them.

Had a recommendation for another shop to have several fluids replaced for my Toyota Sienna. Took to Gerbrock to get the work done. After inspecting the fluids, they decided the condition of fluids was so good that I shouldn't replace them, and come back in 20k miles. What integrity! Didn't get any work done, but will definitely be back for any future service needs.

Brandon and Nathan are just great. It takes a couple weeks to get in and it’s worth it! They’re quick (rarity in Portland) and upfront about their work. You drop off your vehicle by 8:15, they give you the lowdown midday, do the work in the afternoon, and have it ready for you by 5 pm! The invoice is detailed and in layman’s terms so you know what’s going on if you’re not auto-inclined. I took in my car and I will definitely be taking my truck when needed. [Apologies if I got the names wrong.]

Effective, efficient, communicative, and friendly. I’ve taken my vehicle to GBA a few times and the quality of experience has been consistent. Brandon is the standard for customer service – he’s friendly, understanding, honest, and quick to refer you to another quality shop for speciality work when necessary. I’ve also found their prices to be more than fair.

Everything was done within a day and communicated perfectly! They took care of all the needed maintenance for a lot less than I expected, and didn’t try to upsell me stuff I didn’t need. I asked for a transmission fluid change since it had been two years but they checked it, judged that it still looked really good, and recommended I wait! Meanwhile when I saw a dealership for my previous oil change (dumb i know) they quoted me for over $8k in repairs I didn’t need… which is about equal to the worth of my 2014 Mazda 3. For years I used to go to green drop garage and never felt as confident about the detail at which they inspected my car. Back then i just accepted all the issues and didn’t demand correctly done work like i do now. I paid for an inspection of my Mazda when I got it and they basically just took it on a test drive and checked the battery. They also failed to replace an interior bulb twice on my previous car despite me asking them to, then charged me for it, and charged me for troubleshooting costs which were supposedly both 100% covered by their subscription. They had to replace a part in my GTI’s steering column, and couldn’t get it all the way closed back up after. Plus the wipers they sold me were terrible. When Ger-Brock couldn’t help, they explained their limitations, referring me to a body shop for a new drivers side mirror (since they come unpainted) but saying that if I find a used one in the right color that I think is good enough, they’d be happy to install it for me. When i asked about a creaking noise, they said it would require taking apart the whole dash and recommended not doing that unless really motivated since decade old plastic clips can tend to break when you do that. They did however do a deep dive checking the suspension to ensure it wasn’t that, and they double checked the wiring+housing for a bulb that was out on that side since I told them I found a rat had lived in the rear of my car for a short while (I spray regularly now). I don’t drive my car much anymore, but I’m very happy to know there’s a local shop I can trust to keep my car working on the days when I do really need it. Definitely the best experience I’ve ever had with car maintenance!

Extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They are never pushy and tell it like it is. They explain problems and procedures in terms that are easy to understand and their work is the best in town. I know whenever I bring in my car, my wife's car or my work car that I will get top notch work for a fair price.

I've been taking my car here for as long as we've lived here, and Brandon and the whole Ger-Brock team are fantastic. Brandon is super communicative, always reminds me of appointments and calls with updates as soon as he has them. The team effectively diagnosed a tricky engine problem I had recently, and are always honest and upfront about their prices (which are quite fair!). I trust Ger-Brock 100% and value their opinion of maintenance, and they always let me know when certain things can wait and when I need to act ASAP. I would recommend this shop to anyone in the area!

Great service- they are transparent and clear about what needs to be done and how much each item/service is, and I left here feeling very confident that my car was looked over and in good shape. I had them do a pre-trip inspection and fix my headlight, both very reasonable prices.

I only trust these guys. To the point that when they quit servicing American cars, I gave my ford escape (great car btw) away and got a used Subaru. And I will drive from st helens to go there. Hopefully forever.
