The team at German Auto Center (especially my rep Brant) provided outstanding, customer-centric service. After a dealership told me my VW needed a full transmission replacement AND they could only source a used transmission, I knew I needed a second opinion. The German Auto Center team quickly diagnosed the issue, and pinpointed that what the car really needed was a much more affordable sub-component of the transmission. The part was extremely difficult to find (because of a national shortage), but the team kept searching across the country. It took a while, but working their network of connections, they luckily found the brand new part we needed! Once they had the part in hand, the repair was quickly completed and the car feels as good as new. And at a fraction of the price of what the dealership quoted me. I was very happy with the service, the provided loaner car, and the dedication to helping me find the most affordable solution to get my car back up and running. Cannot recommend German Auto Center enough.

Quick and clear communication and service. Had some deferred maintenance done after buying a used VW. They inspected the car and handled the maintenance, and the total came in lower than their original quote.

There’s no other place I’d take my Mercedes to. After having a horrible experience dealing with our local Mercedes-Benz dealership, we went searching for a reliable mechanic to do work on our GLE 350, and after only one visit it became apparent that we were in much better hands at German Auto Center. We have gone to them multiple times now and always appreciate the great service and fair estimates. Highly recommend using them for your car.

I have nothing but good things to say about the folks at German Austin Center. First they took great care of my (former) 2009 911 and now with a newish MB e350 still under factory warranty, I'm super careful about getting all service work done to spec. They have my business and I can't recommend them enough.

Casey Heard (front desk person) unfortunately, lacks basic customer service skills. The parking lot in front of the center was full, and I was standing by the side with my Toyota, waiting for my husband to arrive with our Porsche, which needed to be re-serviced. Casey immediately came out of the building, displaying a rude attitude both in her words and body language, and yelled at me, claiming I was blocking the way—even though there was no traffic at all—and demanded that I leave immediately. I explained to her that I was a customer and that her behavior was inappropriate. She doubted I was a customer simply because I was driving a non-German car, assuming I was a Discount Tire customer who couldn’t find parking and was now on “their property” blocking the way. When my husband arrived, we went inside the building, and to my surprise, Casey did not apologize for her incredibly rude behavior. Instead, she denied how the interaction occurred in front of both my husband and her colleague. I explained that the situation could have been handled much more professionally. Had she politely informed me that I couldn’t temporarily stand there with my car and directed me to the back lot (which I wasn’t aware of) where more parking was available, this could have been avoided. I have already spent thousands of dollars maintaining and servicing my car at this center, but after this experience, I will not be returning!

Completely satisfied with the German Auto Team. It’s great to have an honest shop that you can trust with regular maintenance and repairs. I send both our Audi A4 and BMW X5 to German Auto Center.

I have been taking my car to German Auto for a little over 5 years, and I wouldn’t trust my Mercedes in the hands of anyone else but Chris and the team at German Auto. I’ve written reviews about German Auto and Chris in the past and I will continue to do so. As soon as you walk in, your greeted by Casey who is always pleasant and attentive to everyone in the lobby. The staff at German Auto are bar-non some of the best auto technicians I’ve ever come across,and here is another twist, these people care about the customer, and treat your vehicle as if it were their own. If your looking for a new shop, look no further. German Auto is the best shop in Austin. Ask for Chris.

My car was in this shop for a month and they couldn't fix it. The mechanic would tell me different things every time he called me. He was trying to figure out what the problem was. I went to talk to the manager to tell him what was going on with my car. The last time I spoke to the mechanic he told me that the problem with my car was the fuse box and that the box would cost me 1000 dollars. The manager told me that it would cost 600 and that didn't seem right to me. According to them, they had already put in several new parts that I thought I wouldn't pay for. I only had to pay for the fuse box and labor. The manager assured me 100% that that was the problem with my car because according to his technician and his certified mechanics they confirmed it and he himself, because he was so sure, told me that if your car doesn't work with this, you take it and you don't pay anything. Well I went this past Friday to pick up my car and they told me that my car was already in good condition and I went out to start my car when I started it it failed again I went back to the office and told them and they didn't want to believe me because they went to check it and they saw that it was failing. Manager reimbursed what I paid and I took the car home because they couldn't find the fault with the car and apart from all this of all the new parts that they said they put in I only found 1 so don't take your cars to this shop.

I WALKED IN AND MET ANDREW THE OWNER AND CHRIS AN ADVISOR. AFTER HAVING A TECHNICAL CONVERSATION ABOUT MY BMW THAT BMW OF SOUTH AUSTIN NOT ONLY COULD NOT FIX AFTER 3 DIFFERENT TIMES WITHIN 10 DAYS IT WAS DETERMINED THEY DRAGGED THEIR FEET SO THE FUEL INJECTORS WOULD BE OUT OF WARRANTY. THE BMW DEALERSHIP SERVICE IS THE WORST UNLOYAL BMW CUSTOMER SERVICE WILL EVER ENCOUNTER. SO NOW JUST FROM ONE MEETING MY BMW IS IN SHOP FOR REPAIR AND HAVE NOT PICKED UP YET BUT I AM A BIOMEDICAL ENGINEER AND THESE GUYS HAVE MY TRUST ALREADY. THEY ARE INTELLIGENT AND HAVE LOYALTY TO THEIR CUSTOMERS NOT THE CROOKED BMW COMPANY IN WHOLE. IF YOU OWN ANY BMW WITH A N63 ENGINE NO MATTER WHAT REVISION THESE ARE YOUR GUYS!!!!!

I do most of my own car work, and hadn't taken a car to a shop in about 20 years. I had to go the timing chain in my vw Tiguan and didn't have time myself. They did an excellent job. It's a big job and they got it done very quickly. They kept my up to date on every step. Highly recommended.

We recommend German Auto highly. The ability to set an appointment via the website including the ability to add pictures and notes makes giving information for the drop off much easier. German Auto Center is an incredible and honest service center. They took care of our Mercedes GLC required service quickly and at a reasonable price point. Was not happy with a local Volkswagen dealership service department so I pulled my vehuicle out and had service completed at German Auto Center. They provided a quote before drop-off, and finished the job at the quoted rate. Working with Brant was fantastic.

Brought in my VW JSW TDI for a rear back-up camera install. The part did not fit, which Is not the fault of German Auto. I am giving them 2 stars due to the significant labor charge. $160 charge for labor on an install that was not actually completed is a bit high.

I highly recommend German Auto center for outstanding quality VW repairs. I followed my service expert, Brandt Palumbo when he left the VW dealership. I built a strong trust with Brandt over several years while and didn’t want lose that connection. German Auto Center has excellent technicians, customer service, and fair pricing. My car recently had an expensive coolant repair, but dumb luck struck and 3 days later my TDI started leaking coolant again because an old hose failed. I brought the car back to German Auto center for the repair and they only charged me for the part. I felt that was the fair and reasonable thing to do, and the nice thing was that they initiated.the gesture. That gesture speaks volumes for a company that truly values thei customers and long term relationships. Scott Waidelich

Brant and everyone there are great. I had a issue I thought was major but ended up being not so bad. I had my car back within a day and was back on the road. I highly recommend going here for service or repairs.

If there was an option to give 10 stars I would! I would recommend this shop to anyone for their BMW needs! I took my 2019 BMW X3 in for a Brake System error message. Since I couldn’t leave it, Chris gave me a loaner car because he felt it wasn’t safe for me to drive. Ultimately, it was only low on brake fluid. However, I wasn’t charged for the diagnostic or brake fluid. Chris even topped of my coolant that was low. I haven’t received such exceptional customer service in a very long time. In the future, I will only bring my car here for service. Thank you Chris and German Auto Center for setting such high standards for service!

My airbag light was illuminated on my dashboard. I take it to VW dealership Vanguard and they immediately try to extract cash from my pocket with a wrong diagnosis. On the bright side, Brant with German Auto Center freely diagnosis my 2013 VW Wolfsburg Passat and pin-points the error. Turns out it was a faulty sensor, and he clears the fault and makes a recommendation that saved me hundreds of dollars. They have won me with their professionalism and courtesy.
