I recently had an unfortunate experience at Gibson Tire that highlights the importance of clear communication and customer service. I am sharing my experience in the hope of providing an honest and balanced perspective. On November 20, 2024, I received an oil change at their shop, which initially seemed like a routine service. However, on December 1, 2024, my vehicle's check engine light began flashing, immediately raising concerns about the previous maintenance. Upon inspecting under the hood, I was surprised to find that the oil filter access cap was missing. Wanting to understand the situation fully, I returned to Gibson Tire to discuss the check engine light and the absent cap. My intention was simply to gather information and ensure my vehicle's safety. Unfortunately, what should have been a straightforward conversation took an unexpected turn. A significant misunderstanding arose when the owner interpreted my inquiries as an accusation of theft a conclusion that was far from my mind. The owner went on to mischaracterize my observations of the missing oil filter cap and the check engine light as me claiming that the oil filter access cap was causing the check engine light to flash, this is not accurate. I never made the claim that the missing oil filter access cap caused the check engine light to flash, the owner generated this assumption. I approached the situation with genuine concern, seeking clarity about the potential mechanical issue. I appreciate that the owner offered to provide a replacement oil filter access cap. However, the interaction quickly became tense, and I was ultimately made to feel unwelcome at the shop. My attempt to understand the circumstances surrounding the missing cap and the check engine light was met with defensiveness. I am now left without a resolution to my vehicle's issues and without the option to return to this service center. To be absolutely clear: I was not accusing Gibson Tire of any intentional wrongdoing. I was simply trying to investigate the unexpected issues with my vehicle following their service. Pros: -Willingness to replace the missing oil filter cap -Basic automotive service capabilities Cons: -Check engine light wasn't investigated -Communication breakdown -Defensive customer service approach -Difficulty addressing customer concerns professionally -Permanently banned from receiving future services

No way any other shop in Abq beats Gibson Tire. They are incredibly fast and usually have my car on the jack within a minute or two of visiting. Replacing tires takes 20 minutes max and you can tell everyone is very skilled and competent. The owner has been there every single time i’ve been and he recently fixed a valve stem free of charge. Great selection and prices too.

I bought a used tire from this place and it was a good tire and the workers were very friendly and not bad $55 for a used tired from the day before I bought a tire from a different place it was $76 n there was a hole in the tire and nothing they can do about it but this place he checked the tire and made sure it was good thanks but I will come back again great service.

Amazing service! I had a tire blowout last night and needed to get replacement tires fast. The guys at Gibson Tires were able to get me in today, and it took less than 30 minutes for them to get everything done! They are extremely kind, helpful, and explained everything in detail. I was shown my options, given info on brands, and told what kind of issues to look for in the future that would mean my tires need to be replaced. I highly recommend them!

Wow!! These guys are AMAZING!! Had tire blow out on a trailer and on Sunday!! These guys worked hard to find a solution for rare size rims and were kind, fast, and more than fair. Their shop is very busy. It made me happy to see people of all backgrounds coming in for help. Smiles all around. You guys are angels!! Got us on our way in like 30 minutes. Thank you!!
