Great guys and John is very knowledgeable and helps you understand whats foing on and what needs to be done . These guys built a awsome high proformance trans for my truck and its a straight animal. I will be back for all my transmission work .

Just let me say this to start. John Goeble is a fine gentleman and I still consider him a friend in spite of the very poor job he did on my 1962 Ford-o-matic transmission. In his defence he did state prior to starting the overhaul he had done only one or two of these old units and that he would have a learning curve to go thru. The first time I got it back from him there was problems. noisey, vibratiions and having to wait for a time until the converter to fill before the car would move.The second time I took it back to him he found problems with the hydraulics, that he had. missed with the first time and voud "this time the unit would be perfect and he would sware on its perfect condition". After installing it for the second time , the problems remained, and were so bad the car couldn't not be driven. . John insisted it was a problem with either the installation, the driveshaft --or the differential. I took him at his word and had the drive shaft balanced twice and I personally rebuilt the differential with all new parts. The problems remained and because I still believed his work I had a brand new drive shaft rebuilt with all new parts. The problems remained. As it is difficult to run the transmission because of the rear slip yoke falling out I made a tool that would hold it in place and started the engine with the transmission disconnected from the rest of the driveline. No question about it this time the problems, ( the converter was brand new as well as tested) with all the bad symtoms was the transmission. So now I'm faced with removing the transmission again and having someone else rebuild it. I'm 86 years old. No easy task. Sorry John, but it should have been done correctly the first time. While you charged me very little for which I was greatful, it has cost me much more in parts and labor and time and I'm no further ahead than I was last December '21, and this car is my primary driver.

I can say from personal experience that he is the best in the business. Straight forward, great explanations, and can build a transmission that will hold up to what you want to throw at it. Had a 4l60e built by him and that was the best transmission i ever had. I highly recommend anyone needing a transmission to bring it to Goebel. He will never steer you wrong.
